observed. Always use latest editions of

codes.

Mechanical room

Ensure the mechanical room com lies

with the requirements of the technical

data manual.

The tank must be installed in a

mechanical room which is never subject

to freezing tem eratures.

If not in use and danger of freezing

exists in the mechanical room, ensure

water in tank is drained.

Please carefully read this manual prior

to attempting installation. Any

warranty is null and void if these

instructions are not followed.

his product must be installed

observing not only the necessary

he tank battery is controlled via one DHW tank aquastat making control of

individual tanks within the tank battery impossible.

If control of individual tanks within a battery is necessary, two alternatives exist.

Either a 4-tank battery needs to be separated into smaller batteries i.e. two

batteries each consisting of two tanks (one DHW tank aquastat controls each

battery), or all tanks should be installed individually i.e. individual tank set-up (one

DHW tank aquastat controls each tank).

3. Install boiler/solar water su ly and

return header lines (see illustration).

4. Make final cold and hot water

connections.

Both the boiler/solar supply/return header

and the domestic hot/cold water header

must be installed in a reverse return

method. This ensures uniform heating of

all tanks in the battery. Header sizes for

batteries up to four 79 to 120 USG / 300

450 ltr tanks are printed on page 8.

5. Insulate header i ing lines.

IMPORTANT

In commercial installations, we

recommend the installation of an

additional high limit aquastat in the

water from the tank battery into the

system, and to wire this additional

high limit aquastat in series with the

operating aquastat.

Aquastat installation

Where a Vitotronic 100 and a

Viessmann Power/Pum Control Module

(accessory) is utilized to control DHW

roduction:

1. Insert the extended ca illary of the

aquastat (su lied with Viessmann

The aquastat is to be mounted remote

from the tank well as follows:

2. Align sensor bulb with s ring cli .

3. Slide assembly into well.

4. The retention s ring cli must ress

contact with the well.

Temperature sensor installation for solar operation

he temperature sensor for solar operation is included in the solar control unit package.

1. For solar o eration, install the sensor

well into the brass elbow and

connect the assembly to the heating

return line (solar return).

The brass elbow with sensor well is

available as an accessory,

Part No. 7175 213.

2. Insert the tem erature sensor until it

bottoms out inside the sensor well.

Never wrap insulating tape around the
