CAUTIONS – READ FIRST!
TEMPERATURE LIMITS:
Po ypropyene 0°C to 79°C 32°F to 175°F
PVDF –12°C to 107°C 10°F to 225°F
Tef on®PFA –28.9°C to 107°C –20°F to 225°F
Neoprene –17.8°C to 93.3°C 0°F to 200°F
Buna-N®–12.2°C to 82.2°C 10°F to 180°F
Norde ®–51.1°C to 137.8°C –60°F to 280°F

Tef on®PTFE 4.4°C to 104.4°C 40°F to 220°F
CAUTION: When choosing pump materia s, be sure to
check the temperature imits for a wetted components.
Examp e: Viton®has a maximum imit of 176.7°C (350°F)
but poypropy ene has a maximum imit of on y 79°C
(175°F).
CAUTION: Maximum temperature imits are based upon
mechanica stress ony. Certain chemica s wi signifi-
cant y reduce maximum safe operating temperatures.
Consu t engineering guide for chemica compatibi ity and
temperature imits.
CAUTION: A ways wear safety g asses when operating
pump. If diaphragm rupture occurs, materia being
pumped may be forced out air exhaust.
WARNING: Prevention of static sparking — If static
sparking occurs, fire or exp osion cou d resu t. Pump,
vaves, and containers must be proper y grounded when
hand ing f ammabe fuids and whenever discharge of
static eectricity is a hazard.
CAUTION: Do not exceed 8.6 Bar (125 psig) air supp y
pressure.
CAUTION: “Champ” series pumps are made of virgin
p astic and are not UV stabi ized. Direct sun ight for
pro onged periods can cause deterioration of p astics.
CAUTION: Before any maintenance or repair is
attempted, the compressed air ine to the pump shou d be
disconnected and a air pressure a owed to beed from
pump.Disconnect a intake, discharge and air ines.Drain
the pump by turning it upside down and a owing any f uid
to fow into a suitabe container.
CAUTION: B ow out air ine for 10 to 20 seconds before
attaching to pump to make sure a pipe ine debris is
c ear. Use an in- ine air fiter. A 5µ(micron) air fi ter is
recommended.
NOTE: Tighten c amp bands and retainers prior to insta -
ation. Fittings may oosen during transportation.
NOTE: When insta ing Tef on®diaphragms, it is impor-
tant to tighten outer pistons simu taneous y (turning in
opposite directions) to ensure tight fit.
NOTE: Before starting disassemb y, mark a ine from
each iquid chamber to its corresponding air chamber. This
ine wi assist in proper a ignment during reassemby.
CAUTION: Verify the chemica compatibi ity of the
process and c eaning fuid to the pump’s component mate-
ria s in the Chemica Resistance Guide (see E4).
CAUTION: When removing the end cap using
compressed air, the air va ve end cap may come out with
considerabe force. Hand protection such as a padded
g ove or rag shou d be used to capture the end cap.
NOTE: Non ube-free pumps must be ubricated. Wi den
suggests an arctic 5 weight oi (ISO grade 15). Do not
over- ubricate air supp y. Over- ubrication wi reduce
pump performance.
CAUTION: On y exp osion proof (NEMA 7) so enoid
vaves shoud be used in areas where exp osion proof
equipment is required.
