Getting Started
Idenfy all the parts packaged in the carton against the parts list. Remove all protecve
materials and place parts on a non-abrasive surface to avoid scratching. Please contact our
customer service center (Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM ET) at 1855 399 9415 if anything is
missing.
WARNING! Potenal risks are possible even when you use this electrical tool
according to the instrucons. The following hazards exist during use of this power
tool:
- Lung damage when a suitable dust mask is not used.
- Damage to hearing when suitable ear protecon is not used.
- Health damage resulng from hand/arm vibraons when the device is used over a long period
of me or is not used and maintained properly.
WARNING! Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and
other construcon acvies contains chemicals known to the State of California to
cause cancer, birth defects or other reproducve harm.
Some examples of these chemicals are: Lead from lead-based paints, Crystalline silica from
bricks and cement and other masonry products, and Arsenic and chromium from
chemical-treated rubber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how oen you do this type of work.
To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well venlated area, and work with
approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to lter out
microscopic parcles.
CAUTION
Read all the instrucons before assembly. Failure to do so may result in faulty assembly and
potenal injury! Assemble product on a so, non-abrasive surface such as carpet or cardboard
to avoid damaging the item.

General Power Tool Safety Warnings
WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instrucons. Failure to follow all instrucons
listed below may result in electric shock, re and/or serious injury.
Save All Warnings and Instrucons for Future Reference.
The term ’’power tool’’ in all of the warnings listed below refers to your electric (corded) power
tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluered and dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive environments, such as in the presence of
ammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operang a power tool. Distracons can cause you
to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with grounded power tools. Unmodied plugs and matching outlets will reduce
risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet condions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power
tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled
cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operang a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use
of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operang a power tool in a damp locaon is unavoidable, use a Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter (GFCI) protected supply. Use of a GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.
g) Double insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug (one prong is wider than the
other). The plug will t in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully in the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it sll does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Do not modify the
plug in any way. Double insulaon eliminates the need for the three wire grounded power cord
and grounded power supply system. Before plugging in the tool, be certain the outlet voltage
supplied is within the voltage marked on the nameplate. Do not use AC-Only rated tools with a
DC supply.

3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operang a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are red or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or
medicaon. A moment of inaenon while operang power tools may result in serious personal
injury.
b) Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protecon. Safety equipment such as dust masks,
non-skid safety shoes, a hard hat, or hearing protecon used for appropriate condions will
reduce personal injuries.
c) Avoid accidental starng. Ensure the switch is in the o posion before plugging in. Carrying
power tools with your nger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on
invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusng key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key le
aached to a rotang part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper foong and balance at all mes. This enables beer control
of the power tool in unexpected situaons.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connecon of dust extracon and collecon, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of these devices can reduce dust-related hazards.
h) Only use safety equipment that has been approved by an appropriate standards agency.
Unapproved safety equipment may not provide adequate protecon. Eye protecon must be
ANSI-approved and breathing protecon must be NIOSH-approved for the specic hazards in
the work area.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your applicaon.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and o. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired by an authorized service
center.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing power tools. Such prevenve safety measures reduce the risk of starng
the power tool accidentally.
d) Store power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the
power tool or these instrucons to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the
hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts
and any other condion that may aect the power tool’s operaon. If damaged, have the
power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.

f) Use the power tool, accessories and aachments in accordance with these instrucons and
in the manner intended for the parcular type of power tool, taking into account the working
condions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for applicaons dierent from
those intended could result in a hazardous situaon.
5) Service
Have your power tool serviced by an authorized service center using only manufacturer
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained and keep the
tool in compliance with the warranty.
6) Specic safety warnings
a) Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operaon where the
tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a ″live″ wire will make exposed
metal parts of the tool ″live″ and shock the operator.
b) Unplug the sander before changing accessories. Accidental start-ups may occur if sander is
plugged in while changing an accessory.
c) Use clamps or another praccal way to secure and support the work piece to a stable
plaorm. Holding the work by hand or against your body leaves it unstable and may lead to loss
of control.
d) Your tool is equipped with a dust bag, empty frequently during use and before storing the
sander. Be extremely careful of dust disposal, materials in ne parcle form may be explosive.
Do not throw sanding dust on an open re. Combuson from mixture of varnishes, lacquers,
polyurethane, oil or water with dust parcles can occur if there is a stac discharge, spark
introduced in the box, or excessive heat.
e) Always wear eye protecon and a dust protecon mask for dusty applicaons and when
sanding above your head. Sanding parcles can be absorbed by your eyes and inhaled easily
and may cause health complicaons.
f) Use special precauons when sanding chemically pressure treated lumber, paint that may
be lead based, or any other material that may contain carcinogens. A suitable breathing
respirator and protecve clothing must be worn by all persons entering the work area. Work
area should be sealed by plasc sheeng and persons not protected should be kept out unl
work area is thoroughly cleaned.
g) Do not wet sand with this sander. Liquids entering the motor housing is an electrical shock
hazard.
h) Do not use sandpaper intended for larger baseplates. Larger sandpaper will extend beyond
the baseplate causing snagging, tearing of the paper or kick-back. Extra paper extending beyond
the baseplate can also cause serious laceraons.

i) Material containing asbestos should not be sanded. Asbestos is considered to be a
carcinogen.
j) Ensure that bystanders are not endangered by ying sparks. Remove combusble materials
from the immediate vicinity. Flying sparks are produced when metals are sanded.
k) CAUTION! DANGER OF FIRE! Ensure that the work piece and the sander itself do not
overheat. Always empty the dust container before taking a work break. Sanding dust in the dust
bag (or in the lter of a vacuum cleaner) can ignite automacally under unfavorable condions,
such as ying sparks when sanding metal. There is a parcular hazard if the sanding dust is mixed
with paint or polyurethane residues or other chemical substance and work piece is hot aer
being sanded on for a prolonged period.
l) When working for extended periods on wood and, in parcular, materials that produce dusts
that are hazardous to health, connect the tool to an appropriate external sucon device.
m) Provide for sucient venlaon when sanding plascs, varnishes and paints.
n) Keep your workplace clean. Material mixtures are parcularly dangerous. Light metal dust
can burn or explode.
o) Only use an approved extension cord suitable for the power input of the tool. The minimum
conductor size is 18 AWG. When using a cord reel always unwind the reel completely.
