Introduction
1. Introduction
Dear Customer,
it is a pleasure for us, that you acquired an ARISTOMAT Competition
cutter.
The ARISTOMAT machines are universal high speed cutter for signmak-
ing and mass production mainly in industries of sign, packaging and tex-
tile.
Worldwide these cutters are used successfully. Customer requirements
contributes to ARISTO’s product developments and innovations.
With high speed and reliability ARISTOMAT machines cut computer con-
trolled patterns and originals. They are suited also for commercial sized
pattern and particularly for stiff material. Everywhere there are special
requirements for flexibility and precision.
In the meantime ARISTO presents an abundant offer of cutters with var-
ious tool heads, material transport systems and accessories.
ARISTO offers detailed training courses to get the maximum productivity
and readiness of the ARISTOMAT. The User’s Manual is an assistance
for training and consultation.
The complete documentation consists of this handbook and the corre-
sponding handbook to the bought tool head.
Please do not remove single documents from this User’s Manual. ARIS-
TO reserves the right to make any alterations or improvements in the
manual without any notice.

2. Safety Instructions
In accordance with observed current safety guidelines the ARISTOMAT
is classified as a production machine for the use in an industrial environ-
ment.
Nevertheless dangers can proceed from these machines, if the following
safety regulations are not considered or a not directed use takes place.
In order to avoid injuries to personnel or damages to the plotter read and
observe the safety regulations absolutely. The following safety regulations
are completed by special safety and danger notes in the individual hand-
books of the tool heads.
•The ARISTOMAT, tool heads and accessories shall only be put in
operation, when in faultless condition and shall only be used as they
have been delivered from the factory.
•The ARISTOMAT shall only be used or operated by trained personnel
•Trainees shall operate the machine under supervision of experienced
personnel only.
•The faultless function of the safety devices must be checked before
each operation. With malfunctions the plotter shall not be taken in
operation.
•Covers are part of safety. Do not remove any covers from the ARISTO-
MAT, tool heads and accessories.
•Unauthorized modification which might impair the safety of the
machine are not permitted.
•Safety Devices (Light barriers, Collision Shut-off, EMERGENCY OFF
buttons in the plotter system) may not be bridged or put out of
operation under any circumstances.
•Do not turn the control panel to the movement area of the tools. Do not
overstrain the bumper.
•Assembly, start-up, maintenance and repair of the machine should
be carried out by service personnel only, which is authorized of manu-
facturer.
•Use a maximum air pressure up to 6 bar and only oil-free and pulse-free
compressed air.
•Do not wear loose clothing, hanging ties, jewellery, or the like; tie back
long hair.
- apparel accessories or other parts hanging from the body can get
caught in the moving parts of the machine and cause severe injuries.

•Always remove tools from tool heads before assembly (disassembly)
- danger of injury.
•Carry out a blade changeover thoroughly. Handle with care, you might
hurt yourself with the sharp knife. Worn down and broken blades can
also cause injuries.
Separate the machine from electricity mains, when
•repairing or servicing the ARISTOMAT
Turn off the main power switch, when
•changing a tool head
Turn off the drive system, when
•changing a tool, such as blades
•loading new material and/or lining up material
If the drive system is under power,
•maintain a sufficient safety distance (no less than 8 inches) from the
moving bridge over the entire motion area: Do not lean over the table top
or rest on it and do not move under the ARISTOMAT.
•do not place objects in the danger area
•do not look directly inside the laser beam of the laser pointer
In oscillation mode
•work with the oscillation-mode down holder only as has been dictated
from the factory.
Consider during dust formation
During the processing of various materials, health hazardous, mist or
stream can be released (see safety data sheet of material manu-
facturer). This must be taken into consideration in the choice and usage
of an exhaust appliance.
The exhaust appliance must be approved for the respective dust
category according to DIN EN 60335-2-69 Anh. AA and
E DIN IEC 61 J/94/CD. With the release of carcinogenic substances
(or substances under suspicion of causing cancer) the exhaust
appliance must be approved for dust category H according to the
Ordinance on Hazardous Substances (§ 35 u. § 15a GefStoffV).

Warning off inadequate use
•only use original ARISTO tool heads
•only use material which is permitted to the ARISTOMAT
•do not run the ARISTOMAT in wet rooms
•do not let coolant or lubricant to guides and toothed racks
•keep the ARISTOMAT and tool heads clean
•it is advisable to keep the service interval within time
Please note: You find separate user’s manuals from third manufactur-
ers for all components which have their own label or name plate. For this
components are the manufacturer guarantees binding.
