Warranty terms

Interfocos B.V. guarantees the quality of the supplied Bellﬁres hearth and the quality

of the materials used. All Bellﬁres hearths are developed and manufactured according

to the highest possible quality standards. If, despite all this, something should prove

amiss with the Bellﬁres hearth you have purchased, Interfocos B.V. offers the following

manufacturer’s warranty.

Article 1: Warranty

1.1. If Interfocos B.V. determines that the Bellﬁres hearth you have purchased is

defective as a result of a ﬂaw in the construction or material, Interfocos B.V.

guarantees to repair or replace the hearth free of charge, without charging any

costs for labour or spare parts.

1.2. Repair or replacement of the Bellﬁres hearth will be undertaken by Interfocos B.V.

or by a Bellﬁres dealer as designated by Interfocos B.V.

1.3. This warranty is supplementary to the existing legal national warranty of Bellﬁres

dealers and Interfocos B.V. in the country of purchase and is not intended to

restrict your rights and claims based on the applicable legal provisions.

Article 2: Warranty conditions

2.1. Should you wish to claim under the warranty, please contact your Bellﬁres dealer.

2.2. Complaints should be reported as quickly as possible after they have manifested

themselves.

2.3. Complaints will only be accepted if they are reported to the Bellﬁres dealer,

together with the serial number of the Bellﬁres hearth which is stated on the front

of the instructions for use.

2.4. In addition, the original receipt (invoice, receipt, cash receipt) showing the date of

purchase must also be submitted.

2.5. Repairs and replacements during the warranty period do not give any entitlement

to an extension of the warranty period. After a repair or replacement of warranty

parts, the warranty period shall be deemed to have started on the date of

purchasing the Bellﬁres hearth.

2.6. If a certain part is eligible for the warranty and the original part is no longer

available, Interfocos B.V. shall ensure that an alternative part of at least the

same quality shall be provided.

Article 3: Warranty exclusions

3.1. The warranty on the Bellﬁres hearth ceases to be in effect if:

a. it is not installed according to the supplied installation instructions, and to

national and/or local regulations;

b. it has been installed, connected or repaired by a non-Bellﬁres dealer;

c. it has not be used or maintained according to the instructions for use;

d. it has been changed, neglected or roughly treated;

e. it has been damaged as a result of external causes (outside the hearth

itself), for example, lightning strike, water damage or ﬁre;

3.2. In addition, the warranty lapses if the original purchase receipt shows any

change, deletion, removal or if it is illegible.

Article 4: Warranty area

4.1. The warranty is only valid in those countries where Bellﬁres hearths are sold

through an ofﬁcial dealer network.

Article 5: Warranty period

5.1. This warranty will only be granted during the warranty period.

5.2. The body of the Bellﬁres hearth is guaranteed for a period of 10 years against

construction and/or material faults, starting from the moment of purchase.

5.3. For other parts of the Bellﬁres hearth, a similar warranty applies from the moment

of purchase for a period of one year.

5.4. For user parts such as glass, glass (cord), thermocouple and the interior of the

combustion chamber, a similar guarantee is given until after the ﬁrst burning.

Article 6: Liability

6.1. A claim granted by Interfocos B.V. under this warranty does not automatically

imply that Interfocos B.V. also accepts liability for any possible damage.

The liability of Interfocos B.V. never extends further than that stated in these

warranty conditions. Any liability of Interfocos B.V. for consequential damage is

expressly excluded.

6.2. That stated in this provision is not valid if and to the extent that is derives from

a mandatory provision.

6.3. All agreements entered into by Interfocos B.V. are, unless speciﬁcally stated

otherwise in writing and to the extent that they are permitted based on applicable

law, subject to the Conditions of the Dutch Metal and Engineering Association

(METAALUNIEVOORWAARDEN), as ﬁled with the registrar of the Court of

Rotterdam on 1 January 2014.

1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1.1 INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on your purchase of this modern BARBAS gas ﬁre.

This quality product will provide you with many years of enjoyment due to the ﬂame

effect and warmth that it provides.

Please read the instructions for use carefully before using the appliance for the ﬁrst

time. Keep this booklet in a safe place.

1.2 BUILT-IN PROTECTION OF THE APPLIANCE

The appliance is fully protected by means of a thermo-electric pilot light shut off in the

event of a gas escape from the main burner.

Additionally, the gas ﬁre is ﬁtted with a thermal one-way protection safety system.

This system shuts off the appliance if the ﬂue gas is not exhausted.

1.2.1 Safety

The gas ﬁre must never be used with the door glass removed.

Never place ﬂammable material on the ceramic log set.

Do not place easily-ﬂammable materials, such as nylon clothing

or ﬂammable liquids, in the vicinity of the gas ﬁre.

Children and others unfamiliar with the operation of a gas ﬁre

should be allowed in the vicinity of the appliance only under

supervision.

Use a ﬁre guard to protect children and other persons mentioned

above against possible burns.

1.3 OPERATION GENERAL

The gas regulating block, with which the ﬁre is operated, is located behind the operating

hatch. The ﬁre has one main burner which can be operated by the thermostatic knob

and/or the sliding knob.

The thermostatic knob is used to choose the correct setting and the modulating

thermostat ensures that the set temperature (13 - 38°C) is maintained.

The slider, is used to select the desired position, the burner will now continueously burn

as an atmospheric burner until the setting is changed.

Both operating knobs can be used in combination.

If the appliance is equipped with a convection fan, the fan speed can be adjusted

steplessly with the knob, located on the right-hand side of the gas regulating block.

When the appliance reaches a temperature of 40°C, the convection fan will automati-

cally be activated. After the appliance has been switched off, the fan will continue until

the temperature has fallen below 35°C.

1.4 IGNITING THE FIRE

• Open the gas supply valve in the gas pipe to the ﬁre.

• Lock the slider into “l“ position.

• Turn the thermostat knob to the ignition position “«“ and then push the knob in.

• While keeping the thermostat knob pushed in, press the ingition button a few times to

ignite the pilot light. Check through the glass that the pilot light has been lit.

•

When the pilot light is lit, keep the thermostat knob pushed in for a further 10 seconds,

after which it can be released.

Important : If the pilot ﬂame goes out, then wait for at

least 5 minutes before repeating the above

procedure.

• By turning the thermostat knob to the required setting and/or pushing the slider into a

downward position: the burner will now ignite.

1.5 TURNING OFF THE FIRE

• Turn the thermostat knob to the ignition position “«“.

• Lock the slider to the “l“ position.

The burner will now be fully extinguished.

If the thermostat knob is turned back to the “1” position, then the burner will continue to

operate for as long as the room temperature remains below 13°C.

1.6 EXTINGUISHING THE PILOT LIGHT

• Extinguish the pilot by setting the thermostat knob to the “l“ position.

• If the gas ﬁre is not going to be used for a long period of time, it is recommended to

close the gas supply valve to the ﬁre.

Important : If the pilot ﬂame goes out for any reason,

wait for 5 minutes before attempting to

re-light it.

• If the pilot light frequently goes out, then please contact your installer.

1.7 CONTROL OF THE APPLIANCE MODELS:

UNICA 200 L - 400 / UNICA 200 R - 400 / UNICA 300 - 400

1.7.1 In general

The pilot light and burner are switched to “ON “ or “OFF” by means of the control knob

A. The ﬂame height of the burner is regulated by control knob B.

The desired position is selected and the burner will burn continuously in this position,

until this is changed.

The control knob Bcan be used in different ways:

1. Manually, by turning the knob by hand in the desired position.

2. By means of the cordless remote control, where the desired position of the knob and

also the ﬂame height are regulated by ultra-sonic signals.

1.7.2 Igniting the !re

• Open the gas valve in the gas supply pipe to the appliance

• Turn the control knob Bto the position where the “big ﬂame”-symbol is located.

• Turn the control knob Aa little to the left until the stop.

• Press knob Aand keep the button pressed approximately 5 seconds (the gas ﬂows

to the pilot light).

• Continue turning the pressed knob Afurther to the left to the ignition position (from

the «-symbol to the “small ﬂame” symbol). A “click” is heard indicating the ignition

spark for the pilot light.

If necessary, click a few times until the pilot light burns.

• As soon as the pilot light burns, keep knob Apressed for

another 10 seconds,

then

release.
