This manual has been written for the owners and operators of the MAGNECISERTM

resistive pedal exerciser. It contains general information on the operation,

precautionary practices, safety, maintenance, and care instructions. In order to

maximize use, efficiency and the life of your unit, please read this manual

thoroughly and become familiar with the controls before operating the unit.

Specifications put forth in this manual were in effect at the time of publication.

However, owing to Chattanooga Group's policy of continual improvement, changes

to these specifications may be made at any time without obligation on the part of

Chattanooga Group.

Before using the MAGNECISERTM resistive pedal exerciser, the users of this

equipment should read, understand and follow the information contained in this

manual for all unit functions (speed, time exercised, calories consumed, distance

“traveled”), as well as the cautions (pages 2-3), and warnings (page 3). Consult

other resources for additional information regarding pedal exercise therapy.

PPrroodduuccttDDeessccrriippttiioonn

The MAGNECISERTM resistive pedal exerciser is a portable, lightweight pedal

exercise device designed to provide exercise therapy. The fully automatic 5-function

digital display indicates speed, time exercised, calories consumed, distance

“traveled” and scan of all functions.

The MAGNECISERTM resistive pedal exerciser also has a built-in adjustable base for

stability and storage.

Keep informed on appropriate indications and contraindications for the use of pedal

exercise therapy.

before operating this equipment. The definition of these symbols are as follows:

infractions that have the potential to cause minor to moderate

injury or damage to equipment.

==WWAARRNNIINNGG--Text with a “WARNING” indicator explains possible Safety

infractions that potentially cause serious injury and equipment

damage.

==DDAANNGGEERR--Text with a “DANGER” indicator explains possible safety

infractions imminently hazardous situations that result in death

or serious injury.

==EEXXPPLLOOSSIIOONNHHAAZZAARRDD--

Text with an “Explosion Hazard” indicator explains possible

safety infractions if this equipment is used in the presence of

flammable anesthetics.

NNOOTTEE::Throughout this manual, “NOTE” may be found. These Notes are helpful

information to aid in the particular area or function being described.

• Read, understand, and practice the precautionary and operating instructions.

Know the limitations and hazards associated with using any pedal exercise

device. Observe the precautionary and operational decals placed on the unit.

• Exercise of a strenuous nature, as is customarily done on this equipment,

should not be undertaken without first consulting a physician. No specific

health claims are made or implied as they relate to the equipment.

• Check unit before each use to determine all controls function normally.

• Handle unit with care. Inappropriate handling of the unit may adversely affect

its characteristics.

• DO NOT permit any foreign materials or liquids to enter the unit. Take care to

prevent any foreign materials including, but not limited to, inflammables, water,

and metallic objects from entering the unit. These may cause unit damage,

malfunction, or personal injury.

• DO NOT modify or remodel the unit. This may cause unit damage,

malfunction, or personal injury.

• If you have difficulty operating the unit after carefully reviewing this operator’s

guide, contact your Chattanooga Group dealer for assistance.

• Failure to use and maintain the MAGNECISERTM pedal exercise unit in

accordance with the instructions outlined in this manual will invalidate your

warranty (page 9).

CAUTION

• Know your heart rate and pulse, as well as your physician recommended target

heart rate training zone. Monitor these during exercise.

• Proper medical clearance is recommended for anyone beginning an exercise

program, especially if you are over 35 years of age or suffer from heart or

respiratory problems.

• Warm up before any exercise programs with 8 minutes of aerobic activity.

• Wear comfortable clothes that allow freedom of movement and are not tight or

restricting.

• Wear comfortable shoes with good support and nonslip soles.

• Breathe naturally, and never hold your breath during an exercise.

• Perform exercises consistently with proper technique, and with a full range of

motion.

• Avoid over-training.

• After an exercise session, cool down with slow stretching, cycling, or walking.

• This unit should not be used by or near children.

• Handicapped or disabled people must have medical approval before using unit,

and should be under close supervision when using any exercise equipment.

• Use this unit only for its intended purpose as described in this manual.

• This unit should only be used by one person at a time.

• Do not put hands, feet, or any foreign objects on or near this unit when in use

by other people.

• Always operate this unit on a level surface.

• Never operate this unit if it is not functioning properly.

• Start exercise slowly and gradually increase the amount of resistance.

• If the user experiences dizziness, nausea, chest pain, or any other abnormal

symptoms, stop the exercise at once and consult a physician immediately.

• Use caution to prevent fingers or hands from being pinched in moving parts

when operating the unit.

• Do not attempt to carry the unit by the monitor (page 6).

CAUTION

• Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those

specified herein may result in a hazardous exercise related injury.

• Dispose of all products in accordance with local and national regulations and

codes.

The LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Monitor is an

alphanumeric display that allows the user to

view the speed, time exercised, calories

consumed, distance “traveled” and scan of all

functions. The LCD Monitor will automatically

begin displaying information when you start

exercising, or if you press the Mode Button.

The LCD Monitor automatically shuts off if no

input signal is received within a 4-5 minute

period. The LCD Monitor requires two 1.5v

“AA” batteries that are included in the shipping.

NNOOTTEE::Do not attempt to carry the unit by the

monitor.

MMooddeeBBuuttttoonn

Press the Mode Button to select functions of

time, speed, calories burned, and distance.

Specifically, the Mode button selects the

following:

DDIISSTT: accumulates the workout distance

when starting the exercise.

CCAALL::calories you burn during your

workout time.

SSPPEEEEDD::current speed (in Miles Per Hour)

travelled during workout time.

SSCCAANN::automatically scans through all the

functions, and displays each briefly on the

LCD Monitor.

TTIIMMEE::accumulates the total duration of

workout time.

RReesseett::Hold down the Mode Button for

two seconds in order to reset all functions.

RReessiissttaanncceeDDiiaall

The Resistance Dial controls the amount of

resistance applied during exercise. Turn the

Tension Dial clockwise for a more difficult

workout, and counter clockwise for a less

difficult workout.

SSEETTUUPP

To assemble the MAGNECISERTM resistive pedal exerciser, do the

following:

1. On a flat surface, position the Body

Assembly so that the Resistance Dial

is facing you.

2. Push the Rear Molded Feet onto the

Rear Support Leg.

3. Push the Front Molded Feet onto the

Front Support Leg.

4. Insert the Rear Support Leg into the

Body Assembly.

NNoottee::Keep in mind that the length can

be adjusted later before

operation.

SSEETTUUPP

5. Insert the Locking Knob into the Body

Assembly where appropriate, and turn

it clockwise until it is snug (where the

Front Support Leg does not slide out of

the Body Assembly).

CCAAUUTTIIOONN::Do not over-tighten the

Locking Knob.

6. Insert the threads of the Right Pedal

into the Right Pedal Crank, and with

the wrench, turn it counter clockwise

until it is snug. Repeat this process for

the Left Pedal.

CCAAUUTTIIOONN::Do not over-tighten the

pedals.

7. Plug the wire from the Monitor into

Connector Wire.

8. Slide the Monitor completely onto the

Monitor Tab.
