2. Safety
2.1 Safety Instructions
The user’s manual contains important instructions and information related
with operation safety and apparatus maintenance; and is an important part of the
product.
This apparatus is manufactured and tested according to the requirements on
the safety of electrical apparatus for measurement, control and laboratory use.
Most of the reagents used together with the slide stainer are inflammable.
After loading reagents of the apparatus, the entry of any fire source into or
approaching to the apparatus is forbidden.
In order to maintain this condition and guarantee operation safety, operators
must conform to all instructions and warnings specified in this user’s manual.
2.2 Warnings
The safety devices installed by the manufacturer on this apparatus only
constitute the basis of accident prevention. The first responsible persons of
operation safety are all the organizations related to the apparatus, and second
responsible persons including operation, maintenance or repair personnel. In order
to guarantee smooth operation of the apparatus, conformity to the following
instructions and warnings must be guaranteed.
Handling of reagents
The disassembly or remodeling of the protective devices on the apparatus and
its accessories is forbidden; and only authorized maintainers can repair the
apparatus and handle the internal modules of the apparatus.
For the apparatus part marked with the warning triangle sign, the personnel
concerned must follow the correct operation directives defined in this manual during
operation or replacement. Non-conformity may cause accidents, personnel injuries,
or apparatus or accessory damages.
This warning sign is used to indicate the apparatus which becomes burning
hot on its surface during operation.
The touch of these surfaces may result in scalding.

Transportation and installation
Apparatus operation
Cleaning and maintenance
Before maintenance or cleaning, the apparatus shall be shut down and its main
power disconnected. Please do not use any solvent containing acetone or xylene
to clean the apparatus. Avoid the spill of liquid onto the internal modules of the
apparatus - both during operation and cleaning.
When cleaning agents are used, please conform to all safety requirements and
laboratory management policies specified by the product manufacturer.
Use water at a temperature of less than +65 ℃ to clean the tap water washing
station and reagent station.
Do not use high-temperature water to clean the stations under any circumstance;
otherwise, the stations may be deformed
Spilled solvent (reagent) must be wiped away immediately. —Long-term action of
solvent causes erosion to the slide stainer.
Please use mild household detergents to clean the lid, control panel and shell.
The apparatus shall be transported perpendicularly.
Four people are required for the elevation / transportation of the apparatus.
The apparatus must be installed on a horizontal smooth experimental workbench.
The apparatus shall not be exposed directly to sunlight (beside the window).
The apparatus must be connected to the grounded main electrical outlet, and shall
not be connected to a power board without protective earth conductor.
The apparatus must be installed in a well-ventilated area, and shall be kept away
from any fire source. The chemicals used in slide stainer are inflammable and
toxic. The apparatus shall not be used in a room subject to explosion hazard.
If there is great temperature difference between the warehouse and apparatus
installation place as well as high air humidity, condensed water will be formed
inside the apparatus. IN this case, the operator shall wait at least 2 hours before
starting the apparatus; otherwise, may be caused damage to the apparatus.
The slide stainer can only be operated on by trained laboratory personnel
according to the designated purposes and this manual.
In case of emergencies, please shut down the power and unplug the power line.
During operation of reagents (padding / clearing reagent stations, operating the
apparatus when opening the lid), the operator shall wear proper protective devices
(lab gown, gloves and goggle).
It shall be guaranteed that the apparatus is equipped with filter screen or exhaust
pipe. Even if the apparatus is operated according to the designated purposes,
hazardous solvent smoke can still be generated, causing harm to operator’s
health and even fire hazard.
There is a risk of ignition when operating near the apparatus! Therefore, a 2-meter
safe distance must be guaranteed!
If it is necessary to discontinue the staining procedures for a relatively long time, do
not leave any slide stand in the tap water washing station; otherwise
, they will
become
dry.
