How to Re-Tension the Roller

for Yard Master Manual Series

For technical support or further assistance, call 877-511-1211 x604

Tools Required:1 Small Blade, 1 Phillips screwdriver, 1 Mallet, Thin Rope or Twine, Double Sided Tape or Glue

Repair method:

1. Carefully remove the aluminum face plate from the left side end cap when facing the front of the screen.

Insert the small blade behind the face plate in one corner to separate it from the end cap, then peel the rest

off with your hands. Be careful not to excessively bend the face plate.

2. Utilize the Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws from the left side end cap. Remove the end cap.

Note: After loosening the screws and removing the end cap, the roller may spin due to the tension that may

be remaining within the roller. If the end cap spins with this remaining tension, it can cause an injury to your

hand. Please handle the end cap and roller with care.

3. Bring out the roller about 2 inches by tapping the right end of the roller using a mallet.

4. Place the end cap back on the left side of the roller without pushing the roller back into the housing. While

holding the roller with one hand, rotate the end cap counter clockwise approximately 16 times.Once fully

re-tensioned, you will feel resistance and the roller should not spin.

5. Two people are suggested for this step. While one person keeps hold of the left end cap, the other will need

to loop thin rope or twine around the peg on the right side of the roller. (This will help guide the roller back

into the housing and reconnect with the right side end cap.) Push in the left side end cap back into the

housing while carefully guiding the right end of the roller into place.

6. Utilize the Phillips screwdriver to affix the left side end cap with the screws removed in step 2. Once the end

cap is secure, replace the aluminum face plate removed in step 1.

Note: If reusing the same aluminum face place, you may need to utilize double sided tape or glue to attach.
