5. Application

PROTRONIC - A3000 open, non-contact, opto-electronically controlled urinal flush

valve for wall installation, with the option of external control, such as valve settings

and communication via ECC function controller. The flush time can be set in one

second steps.

11. Assembly

Warning!

• Operate the product only with safety extra low voltage (SELV). The components

must not be earthed.

• Place the power supply (not part of the delivery scope, see accessories, Chapter

20) outside the wet area in a separate room.

• Protect the power supply with a residual current circuit breaker (RCD).

• Lay the system line (to be provided by the customer) in the empty pipe (to be

provided by the customer) from the power supply to the fittings and loop through.

Failure to observe this instruction can result in death or material damage due to

electric shock or fire, for example.

☞Important!

Prior to the assembly process, flush the pipework in accordance with DIN 1988.

11.1

Release the screws.

11.2

Remove the wall protection.

11.3

Close the water volume regulator with a screwdriver having a blade width of 8 mm.

☞Screw the water volume regulator as far as it will go.

Caution!

Do not remove the locking ring.

11.4

Remove the flush stopper.

11.5

Screw in the solenoid valve cartridge.

11.6

Use the flush stopper as a spanner to screw down the solenoid valve cartridge.

☞Important!

Take care when tightening the solenoid valve cartridge.

☞Keep the flush stoppers in the wall mounting box in order to remove the solenoid

valve cartridge.

11.7

Open the water volume regulator (water flow must end automatically after a brief

flush time).

☞Screw the water volume regulator as far as it will go.

Caution!

Do not remove the locking ring.

11.8

Remove the supporting frame from the cover plate by releasing the grub screw.

11.9

Screw on the supporting frame horizontally.

11.10

Remove the earth line (a).

Install the electrical T-distributor

☞Important!

The components of the electrical T-distributor may only be installed after the power

has been switched off.

☞Recommended system cable see Chapter 21., accessories.

When using cables other than the system cable, pay attention to the different colour

code. The outer diameter must not exceed 7.5 mm.

Remove the sleeving (a) of the system cable (approx. 40 mm).

11.12

Push the union nut (c) onto the system cable (b) up to the limit stop.

☞The various wire guides are marked with numbers 1 to 4.

Push the wires (d) into the wire guides (e) according to their colours.

Cut off the projecting wire ends flush, i.e. without protrusions.

11.15

Push the union nut (c) onto the electrical T-distributor (f) and tighten it to the required

torque (1.2 Nm).

Caution!

Note the polarity.

The same wire colour must be in the same wire guide for both union nuts.

☞When tightening the union nut, the electrical contact and tension relief are created

automatically.

Special seals act as protection from dust and water.

11.16

Attach the electronic module to the pressure cap (simplified view).

11.17

Connect the wires between the electronic module, the solenoid valve cartridge and

the optical sensor.

Set the flushing flow.

Put the cover plate in place and hang on the supporting frame behind the strap.

Secure the cover plate using the grub screw.

12. Function

12.1

Stand in front of the urinal for at least 10 seconds.

12.2

Leave the urinal.

• The water will flow.

• The water flow stops automatically once the preset flow time has expired.

☞An automatic flushing function after 24 hours of non-use has been factory-set.

13. Adjusting the flow time

The flow time can be adjusted with an ECC2 function controller via the web appli-

cation.

14. Adjusting the range

The range can be adjusted using an ECC2 function controller via the web appli-

cation.

15. Setting the hygiene flush

The hygiene flush can be adjusted with an ECC2 function controller via the web

application.

16. Adjusting the flushing flow

16.1

Remove the cover plate (see Chapter 17.).

Set the flushing flow.

17. Maintenance and care

The fitting must be checked and maintained at regular intervals depending on the

water quality and in accordance with the local conditions and rules and regulations

applicable at the site.

Use suitable cleaning agents which do not attack the fitting in a proper manner and

rinse with water after use. High-pressure cleaners must not be used for cleaning.

Removing the cover plate

For some maintenance tasks, the cover plate must be removed.

17.1

Release the grub screw.

17.2

Remove the cover plate.

17.3

Close the water quantity regulator.

☞Screw the water volume regulator as far as it will go.

Caution!

Do not remove the locking ring.

17.4

Trigger the flush.

18. Replacing the solenoid valve cartridge

18.1

Remove the cover plate (see Chapter 17.).

18.2

Release the cable connection between the solenoid valve cartridge and the

electronic module.

18.3

Remove the solenoid valve cartridge using the spanner (flush stopper).

18.4

Reassemble in reverse order.

☞Important!

Take care when tightening the solenoid valve cartridge.

☞Keep the flush stoppers in the wall mounting box in order to remove the solenoid

valve cartridge.

19. Replacing the stop valve O ring

19.1

Interrupt the water supply.

19.2

Remove the cover plate (see Chapter 17.).

19.3

Remove the locking ring (a) on the inside using appropriate pliers for internal locking

rings.

19.4

Unscrew the stop valve (b) using a screwdriver.

19.5

Replace the O ring (c).

19.6

Reassemble in reverse order.
