SECURI Y AND HE ENVIRONMEN
ELECTRICAL SECURITY
Check that the current in the mains connection where the machine is to be installed corresponds to the
power supply of the machine.
To avoid damaging the equipment, electrical shocks, fire or physical injury when you connect or disconnect
the equipment from the power supply, pull the plug firmly out of the mains socket holding the plug, never the
cable.
Always do this with dry hands.
eep the power supply cable far from sources of heat. Do not put heavy objects on top of it or change it.
Clean dust and dirt off the power supply cable regularly.
Do not open the machine; you could get an electric shock.
CAUTION
While installing the machine, make sure it is switched off and unplugged.
Do not open the machine. Touching the internal parts is dangerous and you could receive an electric shock.
The machine must not be splashed or dripped on. Never place recipients with liquid inside on the machine.
Do not place anything inside the machine.
LOCATION
Place the equipment on a horizontal surface with enough space around it to allow ventilation.
Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources and excessive dust.
Do not place the machine near magnetic fields or static electricity.
Do not use surfaces which vibrate or receive impact.
Do not pile machines on top of one another.
VENTILATION
Never block or cover the ventilation slits on the machine.
Do not expose it to direct sunlight or place it near sources of heat.
PERIODS OF INACTIVITY
When the machine is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains.
If you are using an adapter, take into account that it will continue using electricity even if the machine is
switched off. If it is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains.
THE ENVIRONMENT
To save energy, switch the machine off when you are not going to use it for a long time. The machine could
contain substances that are harmful to the environment or human health. To minimize the effect of these
substances the machine must be correctly managed and recycled when you decide to dispose of it.
When you dispose of it remember: it cannot be thrown into a conventional rubbish bin.
If it contains or uses batteries, these must be disposed of separately.
The machine (without batteries) must be disposed of correctly. Put it in a container specially intended for the
collection of electronic and electrical appliances, at the dump or hand it over to the dealer when you purchase
similar equipment, so that the dealer can dispose of it correctly (at no added cost).

SIGNIFICANCE OF HE SYMBOLS ON HE MACHINE*
The symbol formed by the expression “Class 1 laser product” written in a rectangle
indicates that visible or invisible laser radiation could be produced. Avoid direct expose to
the laser.
The symbol formed by a ray of lightening inside a triangle shows that the machine has
connection terminals or a circuit with areas with a current which could cause an electric
shock, even in normal working conditions.
The symbol formed by an exclamation mark in a triangle shows that the instruction manual
must be referred to for information on how the machine works and its use.
The symbol formed by one square inside another square shows that the machine has
double electrical insulation.
The European Community symbol shows that the machine complies with the current
European Union legislation, as well as its transposition to local legislation.
The symbol of a rubbish bin crossed out and over a horizontal line shows that when the
product is disposed of it must be done properly, placing it in a special selective electronic
and electrical equipment container or through a dealer when purchasing a similar product,
at no additional cost. It also shows that the machine was put on the market after 13th
August 2005 (European Community Directive 2012/19/EU of Electrical and Electronic
recycling, and its Spanish equivalent R.D.219/2013).
In accordance with what is set out in the aforementioned decree, FONESTAR is registered
in the RAEE (Registro de Aparatos Eléctricos y Electrónicos) in a special section REI
(Registro de establecimientos Industriales), with the entry number 001851.
The symbol RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) shows that the product has been
designed and manufactured restricting the use of certain dangerous materials (Directive
2011/65/EU on the restriction of certain dangerous substances in electrical and electronic
appliances, and its transferal to the Spanish regulations, R.D.219/2013).
*It is possible that some of these symbols do not appear on the machine.

REMO E CON ROL
1.- POWER: on/standby mode.
2.- MU E: activate/deactivate the audio output.
3.- GO O: to go to an exact point in playback. Use the number
buttons to insert the exact time.
4.- REC: to start recording from the channel that is being viewed
at this moment.
5.- ASPEC : to change the aspect ratio.
6.- V.FORMA : to select the screen resolution.
7.- 5/6: fast forward and rewind in playback.
8.- 12: to start and pause playback.
9.- 3: to stop playback or recording.
10.- AUDIO: to select the audio language from those available in
the channel.

12.- DEV: for managing the external hard disc connected.
13.- RECALL: to go back to the channel that was being viewed
previously.

CONNEC ION
Before making any connections, switch off all the equipment and disconnect it from the mains.
We recommend you read the manual before connecting the equipment.
1.- Install the parabolic dish/aerial and position it facing the satellite.
2.- Connect the aerial to the receiver.
3.- Connect the receiver to the TV in accordance with your needs.
4.- If you have an amplifier/audio receiver that is compatible with AC3, the SPDIF output can be connected
to one of the optical digital audio inputs to enjoy AC3 audio if it is available in the channel or the
reproduction file.
5.- Once the connections have been made in accordance with your needs, connect the equipment to the
mains and switch it on.

INS RUC IONS FOR USE
S AR UP
When the receiver is started up for the first time, a quick start up menu will appear on the screen making it
easier to set the receiver and tune the channels.
1.- Use the up and down movement buttons to select the parameter that you want to set. Press the ok
button to show the configuration options for each paramete (language, date and time, cable network
configuration, DHCP, DNS, etc).
2.- Select the search option (menu Instalación > Búsqueda Automática) and press the O button to start
tuning. The TV and radio programmes that are tuned will be shown in the TV and radio column
respectively. The search could take several minutes.
3.- To cancel the installation process, select the option ‘Cancelar’. In this case or if no channel has been
tuned, the following message will appear on the screen “No se encontró ningún canal”. If no channel has
been tuned, check the aerial connection.
MAIN MENU
Accessing the main menu we can adjust the receiver configuration, channel installation, play the contents of
a USB drive, programme recordings, etc.
1.- Press the MENU button and the main menu will appear on the screen.
2.- Press the left and right movement buttons to choose an option and press O to select.
CONFIGURA ION
Press the up and down movement buttons on the remote control to choose the following options:

SYS EM OP IONS
To set parameters such as: menu language/idioma de los menús, OSD transparency/transparencia OSD,
OSD time limit/límite de tiempo OSD, audio language/idioma de audio, recall/rellamada or HDMI audio/audio
HDMI.
AV CONFIGURA ION
To set the following options: screen format/formato de pantalla, screen mode/modo de pantalla, HD
resolution/resolución HD, monitor type/tipo de monitor, complete screen signal/señal pantalla completa,
video output/salida de vídeo, PCM and SPIF.
VIDEO ADJUS MEN
For setting the following parameters: brightness/brillo, contrast/contraste, saturation/saturación and tone/
tono.

IME CONFIGURA ION
To set the date/la fecha and the time/hora on the receiver.
IMER
To set the options for changing channels or recording from the receiver. To record, activate the PVR option.
PAREN AL CON ROL
This option lets you activate the channel lock/bloqueo de canales and channel tuning/sintonización de
canales using a password to prevent children from accessing certain channels. The password is 0000 by
default. It can be changed for a new one in this menu.
