The use of any electrical appliance

•Do not operate any appliance with a

damaged lead or plug, or after an

appliance has malfunctioned, or has

been dropped or damaged in any

If the steamer is overfilled, boiling

water may be ejected which can

scald.

Location

• Do not use outdoors.

• Do not place directly under kitchen

wall cupboards when in use as it

produces large amounts of steam.

Avoid reaching over the steamer

when in use.

Mains lead

• The mains lead should reach from

the socket to the base unit without

straining the connections.

• Do not let the cord hang over the

edge of the table or counter and

keep it away from any hot surfaces.

• Do not let the lead run across an

open space e.g. between a low

socket and table.

Children

• This appliance is not intended to be

used by young children or infirm

persons unless they have been

adequately supervised by a

responsible person to ensure they

can use the appliance safely.

• Young children should be

supervised to ensurethat they do

not play with the appliance.

• Never allow a child to operate this

appliance. Teach children to be

aware of dangers in the kitchen,

warn them of the dangers of

reaching up to areas where they

cannot see properly or should not

be reaching.

• Ensure that this appliance is

situated out of reach of children.

Other safety

considerations

•Do not use attachments or tools not

recommended by Morphy Richards

this may cause fire, electric shock

or injury.

•To open, lift the lid off towards

yourself but tilted away from you.

•Do not use any steamer parts in a

microwave or on any

cooking/heated surfaces.

•Do not place on or near a hot gas or

electric burner, or in a heated

oven.

• Do not leave it in a damp and

corrosive environment.

• Do not switch the steamer on

unless it contains at least 1 cup of

water,otherwise the steamer may

be damaged.

• Always make sure the water does

not fall below the minimum level.

Electrical requirements

Check that the voltage on the rating

plate of your appliance corresponds

with your house electricity supply

which must be A.C. (Alternating

Current).

If the socket outlets in your home

are not suitable for the plug

supplied with this appliance, the

plug should be removed and the

appropriate one fitted.

Warning: The plug removed

from the mains lead, if severed,

must be destroyed as a plug

with a bared flexible cord is

hazardous if engaged into a live

socket outlet.

Whereused, should the fuse in the

13 amp plug require changing a

13amp BS1362 fuse must be fitted.

Before use

Before using your steamer for the

first time, wash all parts except the

Steamer base/water reservoir Ë.

Using

1Fill the water reservoir Ëwith pure

water to the maximum level Á.

• Do not use broth or other liquids.

Do not add anything to the water in

the reservoir. The system is

designed for use with cold water

only, do not use hot water.

2Put the mantle Èaround the heater

‰.

3Fit the drip tray „.The drip tray is

used to collect juices so they can

be used for gravies, sauces, soup or

stock, etc.

4Fit the clear rings ‹ﬁ‡ to the

steamer trays ›ﬂ·.

5Place food into the steaming trays

›ﬂ·.According to the amount

and kind of foods to be cooked, you

can use one, two or three trays as

they stack up on the top of each

other. B.

6Place the lid ⁄onthe upper

steaming ring.

7Plug into the electrical socket.

8Refer to the cooking guide and

adjust the timer Êfor the desired

cooking time, the on/off light Âwill

glow. Steaming will begin.

9After the set time the on/off light Â

will go out, the bell will ring and the

steamer will switch off

automatically. Using oven gloves or

acloth, promptly remove the

steaming trays.

• Do not remove the drip tray „until

it has cooled completely.

CONFIGURATIONS

Single tray B

Use one tray for steaming one type

of food such as peeled potatoes.

Take care to arrange the food so

that some of the holes in the bottom

of the tray remain clear, allowing

steam to flow.

Two trays B

Always place the largest pieces of

food with the longest cooking time

in the lower steaming tray. Place

different foods in the upper and

lower trays, but as condensation will

drip from the upper tray be sure the

flavours complement each other.

Ifsteaming meat, fish or poultry

together with vegetables, always

place the meat, fish or poultry in the

lower tray so that juices from the

raw meat cannot drip onto other

foods.

Three trays B

Always place the largest pieces of

food with the longest cooking time

inthe lower steaming tray.

Steaming times for food in the

upper tray are usually slightly longer

so allow an extra 3-5 minutes due

to a large volume of food being

cooked and due to extra time being

needed to reach temperature.

If foods with different cooking times

are being steamed start the food

with the longest cooking time in the

lower tray. If steaming meat, fish or

poultry together with vegetables,

always place the meat, fish or

poultry in the lower tray so that

juices from raw or partially cooked

meat cannot drip onto other foods.

Steam tube usage C

• To equalise cooking times in all

tiers, use the steam tube Í.

• Only use when you want to steam a

large quantity of one type of food.

4Place the bottom steaming tray ·

over the steaming tube Íand align

the tube to the hole in the bottom of

the tray ·.

5Fit a steaming ring ﬁﬂ or ‡.

6Arrange the food within the tier.

7Fit the other tiers in the same way.

8Refer to the cooking guide and set

the timer Êfor the desired time.

9After the set time the bell will ring

and the steamer will switch off

automatically.

10Using oven gloves or a cloth,

promptly remove the steaming

trays.

Refilling reservoir

Ifsteaming for a long period it may

benecessary to add extra water.

Fill with water through the ‘add

water hole’ ‚byusing a suitable

filling jug.

Cooking rice

The steamer comes with a container

that allows you to cook rice to

perfection.

1Add rice and water to the rice bowl

¤in equal pr oportions.

2Place the rice bowl with rice and

water, into a steaming tray, without

steam tube Í fitted.

3Proceed as described previously for

steaming.

Useful hints and tips

• Always ensure meat is placed below

other food types.

• Steaming times stated in the

cooking guide areonly a guide.

Times may vary depending on size

of the food pieces, spacing of the

food in the steamer tray,quantity of

food, freshness of food and

personal preference. As you

become familiar with the steamer,

adjust the cooking times as

necessary.

• A single tray of food steams faster

than with 2 or 3 trays in use.

Therefore, the cooking time for a

larger quantity of food will be longer.

• For best results, be sure pieces of

food aresimilar in size. If pieces

vary in size and layering is required,

place smaller pieces on top.

• Do not crowd food in the steaming

trays or rice bowl ¤.Arrange the

food with spaces between pieces to

allow for maximum steam flow.

• Always use the drip tray „to

prevent drips splashing.

•Never steam meat, poultry or

seafood from frozen. Always

completely thaw first.

Cooking guide

•The cooking times shown below are

only a guide and should be adjusted

according to suit your tastes.

•While the majority of foods cook in

less than 60 minutes, longer

cooking times may require adding

additional water to the water

reservoir. Follow refill instructions.

Remember to reset the timer Êas

the steamer will switch off when the

timer runs out.

CARE AND CLEANING

WARNING: Allow steamer to

cool beforewashing. Turn timer

to off and unplug from the

mains socket.

Trays, lid and drip tray

The clear steaming rings ‹ﬁ‡

and drip tray „may be washed in

adishwasher (top rack only).

Alternatively, wash in hot soapy

water, rinse and dry thoroughly.

Prolonged dishwasher use could

discolour these parts.

The metal steaming trays ›ﬂ·

and lid ⁄must be handwashed

only.

Steamer base

The steamer base Ëmay be wiped

with a clean, damp cloth. Wipe dry

with a soft cloth.

Do not use abrasive cleaners to

clean any part of the steamer.

WARNING: Do not immerse the

steamer base, cord or plug in

water or in any other liquid.

Subject to the exclusions set out

appliance will then be repaired or

replaced and dispatched usually

within 7 working days of receipt.

If for any reason this item is

replaced during the 2 year

guarantee period, the guarantee on

the new item will be calculated from

original purchase date. Therefore it

isvital to retain your original till

receipt or invoice to indicate the

date of initial purchase. To qualify

for the 2 year guarantee the

appliance must have been used

according to the manufacturers

instructions. For example kettles

should have been regularly

descaled.

Exclusions

Morphy Richards shall not be liable

to replace or repair the goods under

the terms of the guarantee where:

Avant la première

utilisation

Avant d’utiliser votre cuiseur vapeur

pour la première fois, lavez toutes

les pièces sauf le socle et le

réservoir d’eau du cuiseur Ë.

Mode d’emploi

1Remplissez le réservoir Ëavec de

l’eau pure jusqu’au niveau

maximum Á.

•N’utilisez pas de bouillon ou autres

liquides. N’ajoutez rien à l’eau du

réservoir.L’appareil est conçu pour

fonctionner uniquement avec de

l’eau froide. N’utilisez jamais d’eau

chaude.

2Mettez le manchon Èautour de

l’élément chauffant ‰.

3Mettez le plateau de récupération

„.Le plateau de récupération

permet de récupérer le jus de

cuisson afin de l’utiliser pour faire

des sauces, des soupes, du

bouillon etc.

4Installer les grilles transparentes

‹ﬁ‡ dans les bols ›ﬂ·.

5Mettez les aliments dans les bols

›ﬂ·.En fonction de la quantité

et du type d’aliment à cuire, vous

pouvez utiliser un, deux ou trois

bols car ils s’encastrent les uns sur

les autres. B.

6Mettez le couvercle ⁄sur la grille

supérieure.

7Branchez l’appareil au secteur.

8Consultez le guide de cuisson et

réglez la minuterie Êpour la durée

de cuisson désirée. Le voyant

marche/arrêt Âs’allume. La

cuisson vapeur va débuter.

9Une fois que la durée minutée s’est

écoulée, le voyant marche/arrêt Â

s’éteint, une sonnerie retentit et

l’autocuiseur s’arrête

automatiquement. En utilisant des

gants thermiques ou un torchon,

enlevez rapidement les bols de

cuisson.

• N’enlevez pas le plateau de

récupération „tant qu’il n’a pas

refroidi complètement.

CONFIGURATIONS

POSSIBLES

Un seul bol B

Utilisez un seul bol pour cuire un

aliment comme les pommes de

terre pelées. Placez les aliments de

manière à ne pas couvrir les trous

au fond du bol, pour que la vapeur

puisse circuler librement.

Deux bols B

Mettez toujours les aliments les plus

gros et les plus longs à cuire dans

le bol inférieur. Vous pouvez mettre

des aliments différents dans le bol

supérieur et inférieur,mais n’oubliez

pas que de la condensation du bol

supérieur retombera dans le bol

inférieur.Les aliments doivent donc

avoir des goûts complémentaires.

Si vous cuisez de la viande, du

poisson ou de la volaille avec des

légumes, mettez toujours la viande,

le poisson ou la volaille dans le bol

inférieur pour que le liquide sortant

de la viande crue ne puisse pas

tomber sur d’autres aliments.

Trois bols B

Mettez toujours les aliments les plus

gros et les plus longs à cuire dans

lebol inférieur.

La durée de cuisson des aliments

du bol supérieur est généralement

unpeu plus longue. Prévoyez donc

3à5minutes de plus car vous

cuisez une grande quantité

d’aliments à la fois, et ces aliments

prendront un peu plus longtemps

pour atteindre la température

correcte.

Sivous cuisez des aliments qui

nécessitent un temps de cuisson

différent, commencez la cuisson

des aliments les plus longs à cuire

dans le bol inférieur. Si vous cuisez

de la viande, du poisson ou de la

volaille avec des légumes, mettez

toujours la viande, le poisson ou la

volaille dans le bol inférieur pour

que le liquide sortant de la viande

crue ou partiellement cuite ne

puisse pas tomber sur d’autres

aliments.

Utilisation du tube de

répartition de la vapeur C

•Pour égaliser le temps de cuisson

de tous les bols, utilisez le tube de

répartition de la vapeur Í.

• Utilisez-le uniquement lorsque vous

désirez fairecuireune grande

quantité d’un seul type d’aliment.

1Mettez le manchon Èautour de

l’élément chauffant ‰.

2Mettez le plateau de récupération „.

3Mettez le tube de répartition de la

vapeur Ísur le plateau de

récupération „.

4Mettez le bol inférieur ·sur le tube

de répartition de la vapeur Íet

positionnez le tube en face du trou

qui se trouve au fond du plateau ·.

5Mettez une grille ﬁﬂ ou ‡.

6Placez les aliments dans le bol.

7Ajoutez les autres bols de la même

manière.

8Consultez le guide de cuisson et

réglez la minuterie Êpour la durée

désirée.

9Une fois que le temps de cuisson

est écoulé, une sonnerie retentit et

le cuiseur s’arrête

automatiquement.

10 En utilisant des gants thermiques ou

un torchon, enlevez rapidement les

bols de cuisson.

Rajouter de l’eau dans

le réservoir

Sila cuisson est longue, vous

devrez peut-être rajouter de l’eau.

Remplissez le réservoir par le

bouchon ‚en utilisant un récipient

adapté.

Cuisson du riz

Le cuiseur vapeur est vendu avec

un bol spécial pour une cuisson

parfaite du riz.

1Ajoutez le riz et l’eau en parts

égales ¤dans le bol à riz.

2Mettez le bol garni de riz et d’eau

dans un bol de cuisson vapeur,

mais n’utilisez pas le tube Íde

répartition de la vapeur.

3Suivez la procédure de cuisson déjà

décrite.

Conseils et astuces

•La viande doit toujours êtreplacée

sous les autres types d’aliments.

• Les durées de cuisson indiquées

dans le guide de cuisson sont

approximatives. La durée de

cuisson peut varier en fonction de la

taille des morceaux, de leur

espacement dans le bol, de la

quantité d’aliments, de leur

fraîcheur et des préférences de

chacun. Quand vous vous serez

familiarisé avec l’utilisation du

cuiseur vapeur,vous pourrez

modifier les temps de cuisson.

• Un seul bol d’aliments cuit plus vite
