◗Do not use the appliance if the plug,the cord or the appliance itself

is damaged.

Preparing the appliance for use

1Before you connect the appliance,check whether the mains voltage

indicated on the appliance corresponds to the mains voltage in

your home.

2Place the appliance on a horizontal surface.

Do not put the appliance on a hot surface.

Keep the appliance out of the reach of children and make sure that

they are unable to pull at the cord.

C3Put the plug in an earthed wall socket.

You can store excess cord at the back of the appliance.

Prevent the cord from coming into contact with hot surfaces.

C4Fill the water tank with water and put the jug in place.

C5Switch the appliance on by pressing the button.

The pilot light goes on.

Let the appliance run until the water tank is completely empty.

C6Switch the appliance off after use.

Let the appliance cool down for at least 3 minutes before you start

brewing coffee.

Brewing coffee

C1Put a paper filter (type 1x4 or no.4) in the filter holder.

Do not forget to fold the sealed edges of the filter.

Some versions come with a permanent filter.In this case,you do not

need to use a paper filter.

C2Fill the water tank with water and put the jug in place.

Type HD 7607 only: the level indications on the left apply to large cups

(120 ml).The level indications on the right apply to small cups (80 ml).

C3Put pre-ground coffee (filter-fine grind) in the filter.

Types HD 7603 and HD 7605 only: the coffee dose indicator helps

you determine the right balance between coffee grounds and water.

The indicator on the left tells you the number of large cups (120 ml)

and the indicator on the right tells you how many level measuring

spoons of ground coffee you should use (this number applies to both

Gold and Mocca coffee).

4Close the lid.

C5Select the strength and the amount of coffee you want to brew:

- Gold [:for less than half a jug of mild coffee.

- Gold p:for more than half a jug of mild coffee.

- Mocca p:for more than half a jug of robust coffee.

- Mocca [:for less than half a jug of robust coffee.

C6Switch the appliance on by pressing the button.

7Switch the appliance off after use.

Types HD 7605 and HD 7607only: if you have not switched the

appliance off,the appliance will automatically switch itself off after two

hours.

C8Remove the paper filter and throw it away.

If you have used the permanent filter,you can simply empty it,rinse it

and use it again.

Let the appliance cool down for at least 3 minutes before you start

brewing coffee again.

Cleaning

1Unplug the appliance.

2Clean the appliance with a moist cloth.

Never immerse the appliance in water!

3Clean the jug and the filter holder in hot soapy water or in the

dishwasher.

Descaling

Descale your appliance regularly.In case of normal use:

- 2 to 3 times a year if you are using soft water (less than 18° DH);

- 4 or 5 times a year if you are using hard water (more than 18° DH).

Turn to your local water board for information about the water

hardness in your area.

1Fill the water tank with white vinegar.Do not put a filter and coffee

in the filter holder.

2Let the appliance complete two runs.

See‘Brewing coffee’.

3Let the appliance complete two more runs with fresh,cold water

to remove any vinegar and scale residues.

4Clean the separate parts.

Cord

- If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged it may only be replaced

by a cord of the original type.Turn to your Philips dealer or the

Philips organisation in your country for replacement.

Important

◗N’utilisez jamais l’appareil si le cordon d’alimentation ou l’appareil

lui-même est endommagé.

Avant la première utilisation

1Avant de brancher l’appareil,vérifiez que la tension indiquée sur

l’appareil correspond bien à la tension de votre secteur.

2Posez l’appareil sur une surface plane.

Ne posez pas l’appareil sur une surface chaude.

Placez l’appareil et le cordon d’alimentation hors de portée des enfants.

C3Branchez le cordon d’alimentation sur une prise murale avec terre.

Vous pouvez ranger la longueur de cordon d’alimentation excessive à

l’arrière de l’appareil.

Assurez-vous que le cordon d’alimentation n’est pas en contact avec

des surfaces chaudes.

C4Remplissez le réservoir d’eau et mettez la verseuse en place.

C5Mettez l’appareil en marche en appuyant sur le bouton.

Le témoin lumineux s’allume.

Laissez en marche l’appareil jusqu’à ce que le réservoir d’eau soit

complètement vide.

C6Arrêtez l’appareil.

Laissez l’appareil refroidir pendant au moins 3 minutes avant de passer

le café.

Préparation du café

C1Mettez un filtre papier (type 1x4 ou n° 4) dans le porte-filtre.

Repliez les bords du filtre.

Certains modèles sont équipés d’un filtre permanent.Dans ce cas,

n’utilisez pas de filtre papier.

C2Remplissez le réservoir d’eau et mettez la verseuse en place.

Modèle HD 7607 uniquement : l’indication de niveau à gauche concerne

les grandes tasses (120 ml).L’indication de niveau à droite concerne les

petites tasses (80 ml).

C3Versez la mouture de café (finement moulue) dans le filtre.

Modèle HD 7603 et HD 7605 uniquement :l’indicateur de dosage du

café vous aide à déterminer le bon équilibre entre la mouture de café

et le volume d’eau.L’indicateur situé à gauche vous indique le nombre

de grandes tasses (120 ml) et celui à droite le nombre de cuillères

doseuses de niveau que vous devriez utiliser (ce nombre s’applique

à la fois au café Gold et Moka).

4Refermez le couvercle.

C5Sélectionnez la force et la quantité de café que vous voulez

préparer :

- Gold [:moins d’une demi-verseuse de café doux.

- Gold p:plus d’une demi-verseuse de café doux et riche en

arôme.

- Mocca p:plus d’une demi-verseuse de café corsé.

- Mocca [:moins d’une demi- verseuse de café corsé.

C6Mettez l’appareil en marche en appuyant sur le bouton.

7Arrêtez l’appareil une fois le café passé.

Modèle HD 7605 et HD 7607 uniquement :Si vous n’avez pas arrêté

l’appareil,celui-ci s’arrêtera automatiquement au bout de deux heures.

C8Retirez le filtre papier et jetez-le.

Si vous utilisez le filtre permanent,il suffit de le vider,de le rincer et de

l’utiliser à nouveau.

Laissez l’appareil refroidir pendant au moins 3 minutes avant de

préparer du café à nouveau.

Nettoyage

1Débranchez l’appareil.

2Nettoyez l’appareil à l’aide d’un chiffon humide.

Ne plongez jamais l’appareil dans l’eau !

3Nettoyez la verseuse et le porte-filtre à l’eau savonneuse chaude

ou dans le lave-vaisselle.

Détartrage

Procédez régulièrement au détartrage de votre appareil.En utilisation

régulière :

- 2 ou 3 fois par an pour une dureté de l’eau jusqu’à 18°TH.

- 4 ou 5 fois par an pour une dureté de l’eau au-delà de 18°TH.

La Compagnie Générale des Eaux de votre région peut vous indiquer

la dureté de votre eau.

1Remplissez le réservoir d’eau de vinaigre blanc.Ne mettez ni filtre

ni café dans le porte-filtre.

2Laissez l’appareil effectuer deux cycles complets.

Voir‘Préparation du café’.

3Laissez l’appareil effectuer deux nouveaux cycles complets à l’eau

froide pour éliminer toute trace de vinaigre et de tartre.

4Nettoyez les différentes pièces.

Cordon d’alimentation

- Si le cordon d’alimentation de l’appareil est endommagé,il doit

impérativement être remplacé par un Revendeur Philips ou un

Centre Service Agréé car des outils et/ou des pièces spécifiques sont

exigés.

- Vous pouvez commander une verseuse neuve auprès de votre

Revendeur Philips ou un Centre ServiceAgréé :
