C◗Make sure the appliance and the cord do not

get wet.

Charge indications

C◗Charging

As soon as you start charging the empty shaver,

the red light illuminates.When there is sufficient

power for 1 shave,the green light starts blinking.

As charging continues,more and more lights will

become green to indicate to what level the

batteries have been charged.

C◗Batteries fully charged

When the batteries have been fully charged,all

lights will become green.

C◗Remanining shaving capacity

The number of lights illuminated indicates

approximately how much power there is left in

the batteries:the more lights are illuminated,the

more charge is left.A fully charged shaver has a

cordless shaving time up to 70 minutes.

C◗Batteries running low

When the batteries are running low,the lower

pilot light turns red.When you have switched off

the shaver,the red light will blink for 4 seconds.

Charging

Recharge and keep the appliance at a

temperature between 5cC and 35cC.

The appliance is suitable for mains voltages

ranging from 100 to 240V.

You can also shave without charging by

connecting the shaver to the mains.

To extend the lifetime of the batteries,remove

the powerplug from the wall socket and pull the

appliance plug out of the shaver when the

batteries have been fully charged.

C1Put the appliance plug in the shaver.

2Put the powerplug in the wall socket.

Do not recharge the shaver in a closed pouch.

3When charging for the first time or after a

long period of disuse:leave the shaver to

charge continuously for 4 hours.

Charging normally takes approx.1 hour.

4Remove the powerplug from the socket

and pull the appliance plug out of the

shaver when the batteries have been fully

charged.

Shaving

1Switch the appliance on by sliding the

on/off button upwards.

C2Move the shaving heads quickly over your

skin,making both straight and circular

movements.

Shaving on a dry face gives the best results.

Your skin may need 2 or 3 weeks to get

accustomed to the Philishave system.

3Switch the shaver off.

C4Put the protection cap on the shaver to

prevent damage.

Replace the shaving heads (type HQ5 Reflex

Action) every 2 years for optimal shaving results.

Trimming

For grooming sideburns and moustache.

C1Open the trimmer by pushing the slide

upwards.

The trimmer can be activated while the motor is

running.

Cleaning

◗Regular cleaning guarantees better shaving

performance.

C◗For easy and optimal cleaning,the Philishave

Action Clean (shaving head cleaner,type

HQ100) is available.Ask your Philishave dealer

for information.

You can also clean the shaver in the following

way:

Every week:shaving unit

1Switch the shaver off,remove the

powerplug from the wall socket and pull

the appliance plug out of the shaver.

C2Clean the top of the appliance first,using

the brush supplied.

C3Press the release button and remove the

shaving unit.

C4Clean the inside of the shaving unit and the

hair chamber with the brush.

C5Put the shaving unit back onto the shaver.

Every two months:shaving heads

1Switch the shaver off,remove the

powerplug from the wall socket and pull

the appliance plug out of the shaver.

C2Press the release button and remove the

shaving unit.

C3Turn the wheel anticlockwise and remove

the retaining frame.

C4Remove and clean the shaving heads

(cutters and guards) one by one.

Do not mix up the cutters and the guards.

This is essential since each cutter has been

ground with its corresponding guard for optimal

performance.If you accidentally mix the sets up,it

could take several weeks before optimal shaving

performance is restored.

C5Clean the cutter with the short-bristled

side of the brush.

Brush carefully in the direction of the arrow.

C6Brush the guard.

If necessary,you can clean the shaving unit with a

degreasing liquid (e.g.alcohol).Remember to

lubricate the central point of the guards with a

drop of sewing machine oil after cleaning.

C7Reassemble the shaving unit by replacing

the retaining frame.Press the wheel and

turn it clockwise.

8Put the shaving unit back onto the shaver.

Trimmer

1Switch the shaver off,remove the

powerplug from the wall socket and pull

the appliance plug out of the shaver.

2Clean the trimmer every time you have

used it.

3Lubricate the trimmer teeth with a drop

of sewing machine oil every six months.

Disposal of batteries

Remove the batteries when you discard the

shaver.Do not throw the batteries away with the

normal household waste,but hand them in at an

official collection point.You can also take the

batteries to a Philips Service Centre,which will

dispose of them in an environmentally safe way.

Only remove the batteries if they are completely

empty.

1Remove the powerplug from the socket

and pull the appliance plug out of the

shaver.

C2Let the shaver run until it stops,undo the

screws and open the shaver.

3Remove the batteries.

Do not connect the shaver to the mains again

after the batteries have been removed.

Troubleshooting

◗Problem:The shaver does not work after the

on/off button has been slided upwards.

Ladestandes der Akkus immer mehr Lampen grün

zu leuchten.

C◗Akkus voll aufgeladen

Wenn dieAkkus voll aufgeladen sind,leuchten alle

Lampen grün.

C◗Restkapazität

Die Anzahl der leuchtenden Lampen zeigt an,

wieviel Energie ungefähr noch in den Akkus

verbleibt.Je mehr Lichter,desto mehr Energie

verbleibt in den Akkus.Die netzunabhängige

Betriebsdauer des voll aufgeladenen

Rasierapparats beträgt bis zu 70 Minuten.

C◗Akkus nachladen

Wenn die Ladung derAkkus zur Neige geht,

leuchtet die unterste Kontroll-Lampe rot auf.Die

rote Kontroll-Lampe blinkt 4 Sekunden nach

Ausschalten des Geräts.

Aufladen

Laden Sie die Akkus bei einerTemperatur

zwischen 5cC und 35cC,und bewahren Sie das

Gerät auch in diesemTemperaturbereich auf.

Das Gerät eignet sich für Netzspannungen von

100 bis 240Volt.

Sie können sich auch bei leeren Akkus rasieren,

indem Sie den Rasierapparat an das Netz

anschließen.

Sie verlängern die Nutzungsdauer der Akkus

wenn Sie nach dem Aufladen der Akkus das

Steckernetzgerät aus der Steckdose und den

Gerätestecker aus dem Rasierer ziehen.

C1Stecken Sie den Gerätestecker in den

Rasierapparat.

2Stecken Sie das Steckernetzgerät in die

Steckdose.

Laden Sie den Rasierapparat nicht in der

geschlossenenTasche auf.

3Beim erstmaligen Laden,und wenn der

Rasierapparat für einen längeren Zeitraum

nicht benutzt wurde,beträgt die

Ladedauer 4 Stunden.

Normalerweise beträgt die Ladedauer ungefähr 1
