Pioneer CDJ800Mk1 Bedienungsanleitung

Pioneer CDJ800Mk1 optical pickup fitting instructions

By Professional Repair Services Ltd © 2011 v1.1

Before handling any connectors or the optical assembly, take anti-static precautions such as wearing

a grounded antistatic strap, or discharging yourself by touching a nearby grounded point.

Remember moving can build up the static charge again!

Do these instructions at your own risk. Be sure that you are capable of doing so - if in doubt get

someone who can to fit it. You can send the deck to me for repair if you have problems. lease see

my website www.prscardiff.co.uk.

1. Turn machine upside down.

2. Remove three fixing screws from access cover shown in Illustration 1 and remove it.

3. Remove the four cd mechanism fixing screws and the small ground strap fixing screw with

green wire attached, shown in Illustration 2. Be careful and use a magnetised screwdriver so

you don't lose any screws inside the unit.

4. Unplug flexible cable from the optical pickup. ull gently and do not crease.

5. Unplug 6 way connector from the motor circuit board. Lift out the CD mechanism and put it

on a clear space in front of you.

6. Remove two fixing screws holding metal bar the CD mechanism frame., shown in

Illustration 3.

7. Extract the bar completely from the optical pickup.

8. Move optical pickup down as far as it will go and it will fall through the gap cut in the

bottom of the metal frame.

9. Inspect new optical pickup for removal of antistatic bridge . I remove this before sending the

replacement pickup so that soldering is not required. If it is still present, wipe the nib of a

soldering iron across it to remove. When the iron is up to temperature, turn it OFF before

removing the bridge to reduce chances of damage to the static sensitive laser from induced

currents.

10. To fit the new pickup, fit the optical pickup rack next to the gearwheel, then carefully fit the

right hand side of the assembly into position, making sure the plastic tabs are as shown in

Illustration 5. If the pickup has a plastic lens cover fitted, remove it.

11. Fit the metal bar back into the optical pickup and into position on the cd mechanism frame.

Fit the two retaining screws. Check that the pickup moves properly by rotating the

gearwheel.

12. Optional step if mechanism is dirty/old. If you have problems after fitting perform this step.

Apply some TFE spray lube (available from Maplin) to the bar if you have some and also

to the bearing of the spindle motor, the gearwheels and pickup drivemotor. Clean the lens

with a cotton bud and some Isopropyl Alcohol (also available from Maplin).

13. lug in the 6 way connector to the motor circuit board, then fit the cd mechanism back into

the CDJ. Make sure the green wire is not tucked under the mechanism.

14. Fit the four fixing screws and reattach the green ground strap with the small screw.

15. lug the wide flexible ribbon cable into the optical pickup, carefully and without creasing.

Its easier if you move the optical pickup up next to the spindle motor.

16. Refit the cover and test.
