INTRODUCTION
The Cargo Van Ladder Rack holds up to 500 lb of cargo. The
rack design allow easy installation without drilling or damaging
your vehicle.

WORK AREA
1. Operate in a safe work environment. Keep your work area
clean, well-lit and free of distractions. Place lights so you
are not working in a shadow.
2. Keep anyone not wearing the appropriate safety
equipment away from the work area.
3. Store unused tools properly in a safe and dry location to
prevent rust or damage. Lock tools away and keep out of
the reach of children.
4. Avoid contact with electrical sources in your work as the
rack is not insulated and will transmit an electric shock that
may cause an injury.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
1. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and
side protection for the eyes. Eye protection equipment
should comply with CSA Z94.3-07 or ANSI Z87.1 standards
based on the type of work performed.
2. Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work
materials or to reduce the effects of tool vibration.
3. Wear protective clothing designed for the work
environment and tool.
4. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing
and balance in the work environment.
5. Wear steel toe footwear or steel toe caps to prevent a foot
injury from falling objects.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool, personal movement and the work
environment to avoid personal injury or damage to tool.
1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol or medications.
2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become
entangled with the moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair
covered or bound.
3. Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and
balance enables better control in unexpected situations.
SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

1. Use the correct tool for the job. This tool was designed for a
specific function. Do not modify or alter this tool or use it for

2. Do not use the tool if any parts are damage broken or
misplaced. Repair or replace the parts.
3. Do not exceed the rack’s maximum capacity (see
Specifications).
4. Secure the load with straps to prevent unwanted movement
that can cause the load to slide, fall off the arm or vibrate.
5. Check all bolts and connections for tightness daily. Tighten
the bolts when necessary.
6. Avoid overloading the rack. Distribute the load evenly.
Overloading can make the vehicle top-heavy and may cause
a vehicle roll over during turns, stops or strong winds.
7. Be aware of the overall height of the load on the vehicle to
avoid striking low overhead structures.
8. Do not load the racks in a manner that will block or obscure
your view of the road or surroundings while driving.
9. Only load a vehicle on a firm, level surface capable of
sustaining the load. Never load the racks on a vehicle
resting on a sloped or soft surface, as the load may shift or
fall and injure you or a bystander.
10. Only use manufacturer accessories with the rack. Using an
accessory not designed for the rack may fail and injury you
or a bystander.
UNPACKING
WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing.
Replace the missing part before operating. Failure to do so
could result in a malfunction and personal injury.
Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and
inspect for damage. Make sure that all items in the parts list
are included.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Numbered references in parenthesis (#1) refer to the included
Parts List.
1. Select one of the four mounting holes (#4) in the upright
(#1) that will clear the vehicle roof.
2. Slide a lock washer (#11) and SAE flat washer (#8) over an
M12x25 hex bolt (#7). Insert the bolt through the selected
mounting hole. The gutter clamp (#5) faces outward.
Repeat with the other upright.
3. Screw the short cross brace (#3) onto one upright and the
long cross brace (#2) onto the other upright. Secure both
hex bolts with a wrench.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to assemble the other rack set.
5. Slide each short cross brace into a long cross brace. Screw an
M10x15 Allen head set screw into the long cross brace just
tight enough to hold the braces together. You may need to
loosen it to adjust the rack during installation.
6. The gutter clamp on all uprights is pre-assembled.
INSTALL ON THE VEHICLE
1. Loosen both M6x35 hex bolts (#6) so the gutter clamps are
easily moved.
2. Place the rear part of the upright in the rain gutter.
3. Loosen the set screw in the long cross brace.
4. Adjust the cross brace from the other side of the vehicle
until the second upright fits into the rain gutter. Tighten the
M6x35 hex bolt until the gutter clamp is locked under the
vehicle’s rain gutter.
5. Tighten the gutter clamp on the other side, then tighten
the set screw to secure the cross braces.
6. Repeat Steps 1 to 5 with the second set of cross braces.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is
efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace
damaged or worn components. Only use identical
replacement parts when servicing.
WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the
tool. An improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the
user and/or others.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does
not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so,
have a qualified technician service the tool.
