Introduction:

IM-740 measures air speed and temperature. With its compact

size, it is easy to take measurement quickly at air outlets on

account of its 30mm vane.

Features:

30mm 6 plastics vane.

Light air response 0.4m/s.

Max/Min/Avg and data hold.

Auto power off with disable function.

Display: Dual LCD display. The maximum

value of 9999 (main display) and

999 (secondary display).

Sampling Rate: 1 time per second.

Sensor: IR LED and Photodiode; NTC

Safety: CAUTION

Be extremely careful for the following

conditions while measuring.

Do not operate the meter in the environment with

explosive gas (material), combustible gas (material)

steam or filled with dust.

In order to avoid reading incorrect data, please replace

the battery immediately when the symbol appears

on the LCD.

In order to avoid the damage caused by contamination or

static electricity, do not touch the circuit board before you

take any adequate action.

Operating Environment is for indoors use only. The meter

was designed for being used in an environment of

pollution degree 2.

Operation Altitude: Up to 2000M.

Operating Temperature & Humidity: 0°C ~ +60°C,<

95%RH (non-condensing).

Storage Temperature & Humidity: -10°C ~+ 60°C, <70%

RH. (non-condensing)

Operation:

1. Press for more than

1 second to turn power

on or off.

2. Remove the protective

cover and follow the arrows

to measure the air speed

as shown in the photo:

3. When completed the testing,

replace the cover to protect

the sensor.

Unit

Press the UNIT key to select the unit of m/S, Knots (kts),

ft/min (fpm) or Km/hr (kph).

Press the CAL,ºC / ºF key to select the unit of ºC or ºF.

CAL (Calibration of 10 m/s)

The 10 m/s calibration is required for the standard 10 m/s

velocity source and operated by a qualified person.

1. Trun the meter on.

2. Prepare a 10/m/s velocity source, remove the sensor

cap and place the sensor to the velocity source.

3. Hold CAL, ºC / ºF key and press until the symbol of

CAL is shown on the LCD.

4. Press and hold CAL /ZERO key for more than 2

seconds, and the meter turns off automatically to

indicate the meter is now calibrated.

MAX/MIN/AVG

1. Press MAX/MIN key repeatedly to cycle through to

three functions of maximum, average, minimum. The

symbol of MAX, AVG or MIN appears on the top of LCD

to indicate the selected function. The maximum,

minimum, or average readings are shown on the LCD.

2. Press the MAX/MIN key for more than 2 second to

disable this feature.

HOLD

Press HOLD key to freeze the reading present on the LCD,

press this button again to disable Data Hold.

Auto Power Off

1. To save battery life, the Auto Power Off feature can be

used to turn the Meter off after 12 minutes of no activity.

2. When you turn on the meter the symbol appears on

the LCD and the Auto Power off is enabled. Hold and

press for more than 2 second to turn this function on

or off.

Battery Replacement:

The meter is powered by 2 pcs of 1.5V battery.

Remove battery when the meter is not used for extended

period. If the battery power becomes low, the LCD shows ,

replace with new batteries.

Turn off the meter and lift the battery cover up and away from

the meter.

1. Replace the batteries AAA IEC-LR03, or equivalent 1.5V.

2. Place the cover on to the meter.

Limited Warranty:

This meter is warranted to the original purchaser against

defects in material and workmanship for 3 year from the

date of purchase. During this warranty period, RS

Components will, at its option, replace or repair the

defective unit, subject to verification of the defect or

malfunction. This warranty does not cover fuses,

disposable batteries, or damage from abuse, neglect,

accident, unauthorized repair, alteration, contamination, or

abnormal conditions of operation or handling.

Any implied warranties arising out of the sale of this product,

including but not limited to implied warranties of

merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are

limited to the above. RS Components shall not be liable for

loss of use of the instrument or other incidental or

consequential damages, expenses, or economic loss, or for

any claim or claims for such damage, expense or economic

loss. Some states or countries laws vary, so the above
