Schaerer 2 Step Cleaning
and Power Down Procedure
Cleaning
1. Perform cleaning cycle.
Follow the Daily Cleaning Instructions provide at the time of installation.
2. Complete the following steps during the cleaning process:
1. Be sure to soak the steam wand in a solution of hot water and milk cleaning solution.
2. Brush the automat thoroughly to remove excess grinds.
3. Empty all coffee from the grounds bin or knock box, rinse and dry with a towel.
4. Pour hot water into the drip tray to help clean the drain line.
5. Remove the drip grid and wipe out the drip tray with a towel.
6. Remove the hoppers, store or discard the remaining beans and clean the hoppers with clean, moist cloth.
3. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a clean, moist cloth.
1. If a chemical sanitizer is to be used to clean the touch screen, be sure to avoid all plastic surfaces (Figure 1 and 2).
Apply sanitizer by spraying onto a towel first, then wiping the surface as necessary.
2. Sanitizer can also be used for any stainless steel surfaces on the machine.
3. Do not use sanitizer to clean the bean hoppers.

Ok to sanitize
Power Down
Place the unit in standby mode.
By using the Quick Action menu.

Press and hold to open the menu. Select Standby.
Optional
Turn off the water supply and unplug the machine from electrical power.
Locate the power button.
Press the button to turn off the machine.
Filtration for SEB Professional
North America
Equipment shut down, less than 6 weeks
If your system is shut down for less than 6 weeks, the filter should
be flushed for 5 minutes prior to starting the equipment up again.
Equipment shut down, more than 6 weeks
If your system is shut down for more than 6 weeks, a filter
cartridge replacement will be required to ensure proper sanitation
and filtration of the water supplied to the equipment.
