
Schaerer 2 Step Cleaning
and Power Down Procedure
Cleaning
1. Perform cleaning cycle.
Follow the Daily Cleaning Instructions provide at the time of installation.
2. Complete the following steps during the cleaning process:
1. Be sure to soak the steam wand in a solution of hot water and milk cleaning solution.
2. Brush the automat thoroughly to remove excess grinds.
3. Empty all coffee from the grounds bin or knock box, rinse and dry with a towel.
4. Pour hot water into the drip tray to help clean the drain line.
5. Remove the drip grid and wipe out the drip tray with a towel.
6. Remove the hoppers, store or discard the remaining beans and clean the hoppers with clean, moist cloth.
3. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a clean, moist cloth.
1. If a chemical sanitizer is to be used to clean the touch screen, be sure to avoid all plastic surfaces (Figure 1 and 2).
Apply sanitizer by spraying onto a towel first, then wiping the surface as necessary.
2. Sanitizer can also be used for any stainless steel surfaces on the machine.
3. Do not use sanitizer to clean the bean hoppers.
