PREVENTATIVE
MAINTENANCE
The
Model
880
Dynamometer
type
movement
is
designed
to
withstand
a
reasonableamount
of
shock
and
vibration.How-
ever,like
any
other
fine
piece
of
precisionequipment,care
should
be
exercised
to
avoidundueelectrical
or
mechanical
abuse.
Momentaryelectricaloverloads
of
500%should
not
usually
causepermanentdamage.However,
after
an
accidental
overload
occurs
the
accuracyshould
be
rechecked.

PERIODIC
MAINTENANCE
Model
880
Instrumentsshould
be
checkedperiodically
for
calibration
accuracy.
The
timeperiodbetweenaccuracychecks
is
flexible
andis
left
tothe
discretion
ofthe
individual
toset
up
a
system
that
best
meets
his
needs.

warranted

original
purchaser

perform

cording

publishedspecificationsupondelivery,

free
from
defects
in
material
or
workmanship
forone
year
from
date
of
shipment.Within
this
period,
any
instrument
which
isre-
turned,
transportation
charges
prepaid,
toour
repairdepartment
oroneofour
authorized
service
agencies,
and
which
we
confirm
tobe
defective,will
be
repaired
or
adjusted(or,
atour
option,
replaced)
withoutcharge.
Thiswarrantydoes
not
apply
to
tubes,
transistors
or
batteries,
nor
to
instrumentswhichhavebeenalteredoutside
ofour

viceorganization,operated

Complete
facilities
are
maintained
atour
factory
forthe
repair
and
calibration
ofall
Simpson
instruments.
Service
is
also
available
for
mostinstruments
atthe
RegionalServiceCenters
listed
on
backcover.
No
advanceauthorization
is
required
to
make
useof
repair
and
calibrationservice
atthe
factory;
how-
ever,
RegionalServiceCentersshould
be
notified
in
advance
of
shipment.Pack
the
equipmentsecurely
and
shipprepaid.
Itis
usuallyadvisable
to
insure
the
shipment.
Enclosewith
the
equipment
a
letter
containing:

Detailedreport
of
difficulty
encountered
or
calibration
requested.
