Available SATA Power connector on the power supply

MSATA Drive Installation

WARNING! SSD Drives and storage adapters require careful handling. If you are

not careful with your SSD Drive, lost data may result. Always handle your drive with

caution. Be sure that you are properly grounded by wearing an anti-static strap when

handling computer components or discharge yourself of any static electricity build-up

by touching a large grounded metal surface (such as the computer case) for several

seconds.

1. Slide the mSATA connectors on your mSATA drive into the mSATA Drive Connector

on the SAT32MSATM.

Instruction Manual

2. Gently apply pressure to the top center of the drive until it locks into place on either

side of the SSD clip. To release the drive from the SSD clip, pull up on the top of the

clip using the leavers attached to either side of clip.

3. The mSATA drive is now installed.

System Installation

1. Open your computer case (refer to the computer case user manual for details).

2. Connect an available SATA power connector from your power supply to the SATA

power portion of the included SATA to 4-pin Power Adapter.

3. Connect the 4-Pin portion of the included SATA Power to 4-pin Power Adapter to

the 4-pin power connector on the SAT32MSATM.

Instruction Manual

4. Plug the SATA port on the SAT32MSATM with installed drive into an available SATA

port on the system motherboard.

5. Replace the cover on your computer system, and installation is now completed.

Hard Drive Initialization

If the MSATA drive is new or otherwise blank, it may need to be initialized and

formatted before use. Follow the steps below in a Windows interface to initialize the

drive.

1. From the main Windows desktop, right-click on “My Computer” (“Computer” in Vista/

7 / 8), then select Manage. In the new Computer Management window, select Disk

Management from the left window panel.

Instruction Manual

2. A dialog window should automatically appear, asking you to initialize the drive.

Depending on the version of Windows, it will give you the option of either creating

an “MBR” or“GPT” disk. GPT (GUID partition) is not compatible with some older

operating systems, while MBR is supported by newer and older operating systems.

3. Once initialized, locate the Disk that says it is “Unallocated” (check the listed hard

drive capacity to conrm it’s the correct hard drive) and then right-click in the

section that says “Unallocated” and select “New Partition”.

4. Follow the on screen prompts to initialize the drive in the format of your choice.
