Quick Installation Steps
For more information and complete step-by-step instructions, see
Tandberg StorageLoaderTM Installation and User Manual.
Caution The transport locking screws must be removed before
the Tandberg StorageLoaderTM can operate normally.
When following the steps listed, see the corresponding numbers on
the illustration below.
1 Unpack the StorageLoader and install the loader in a rack. For
instructions, see Tandberg StorageLoaderTM Installation and User
Manual.
2 Connect the SCSI cables to the two SCSI connectors on the rear
of the loader.
a. Connect a cable between the host and a SCSI connector on
the StorageLoader. Secure the cable with the thumbscrews on
the connector.
b. If the StorageLoader is the last device on the bus, connect
a SCSI terminator to the other SCSI connector to terminate
the bus.
c. It is possible to daisy chain several devices on the SCSI bus.
If you do so the terminator must be connected to the last
device on the bus. Note that there are limitations to the length
of the SCSI cable. The maximum allowed length of an LVD
SCSI bus is 12 meters / 40 feet. Do not connect this device to
a SCSI raid controller/bus.

3 Connect your Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the rear of the
loader. The Ethernet connection allows use of the Web Client.
4 Connect a power cord to the power connector on the rear of the
loader. US and EU power cords are supplied with the loader.
5 Power on the loader by turning on the rear power switch.
6 Power up the host system.
7 Verify that the host can communicate with the loader’s tape drive.
8 Configure your loader using the loader’s operator panel.

Attention Vous devez retirer les vis de verrouillage pour le
transport pour que le Tandberg StorageLoaderTM
fonctionne normalement.
Suivez la procédure décrite ci-après et reportez-vous aux numéros
correspondants sur le schéma ci-dessous.
1 Déballez le chargeur StorageLoader et installez-le dans une
armoire. Pour connaître la procédure, veuillez vous reporter au
Guide d'installation et d'utilisation Tandberg StorageLoaderTM
Installation and User Manual.
2 Connectez les câbles SCSI aux deux connecteurs SCSI, à l’arrière
du chargeur.
a. Connectez un câble entre l’hôte et un connecteur SCSI sur le
StorageLoader. Fixez le câble à l’aide des vis du connecteur.
b. Si le StorageLoader est le dernier périphérique sur le bus,
connectez un bouchon SCSI à l’autre connecteur SCSI pour
réaliser la terminaison du bus.
c. Il est possible de connecter en chaîne plusieurs
périphériques sur le bus SCSI. Dans ce cas, le bouchon de
terminaison SCSI doit être connecté au dernier périphérique
du bus. Notez qu’il existe des restrictions en termes de
longueur de câble SCSI. La longueur maximale autorisée
d’un bus SCSI LVD est de 12 mètres. Ne connectez pas
ce périphérique à un contrôleur/bus RAID SCSI.

3 Branchez le câble Ethernet sur le port Ethernet, à l’arrière du
chargeur. La connexion Ethernet autorise l’utilisation du client Web.
4 Branchez un câble d’alimentation sur le connecteur d’alimentation,
à l’arrière du chargeur. Deux câbles d’alimentation sont fournis
avec chargeur, l’un pour les États-Unis, l’autre pour l’Europe.
5 Mettez le chargeur sous tension à l’aide du bouton
d’alimentation situé à l’arrière.
6 Mettez le système hôte sous tension.
7 Vérifiez que la communication s’établit entre l’hôte et le lecteur
de bandes du chargeur.
8 Configurez le chargeur à partir du panneau de commande.

Achtung Damit der Tandberg StorageLoaderTM benutzt werden
kann, müssen die Transportsicherungsschrauben
entfernt werden.
Beachten Sie beim Durchführen der folgenden Schritte die entsprechenden
Zahlen in der Abbildung.
1 Packen Sie den StorageLoader aus und installieren Sie das Gerät in
einem Rack. Anleitungen enthält: Tandberg StorageLoaderTM Installation
and User Manual.
2 Stecken Sie die SCSI-Kabel in die beiden SCSI-Anschlüsse auf
der Rückseite des Geräts.
a. Verbinden Sie den Host und den StorageLoader mit einem
Kabel. Befestigen Sie das Kabel mithilfe der Rändelschrauben
am Anschluss.
b. Wenn der StorageLoader das letzte Gerät am Bus ist,
terminieren Sie den Bus am anderen SCSI-Anschluss mit
einem SCSI-Abschlusswiderstand.
c. Sie können mehrere SCSI-Geräte am SCSI-Bus verketten.
Der Abschlusswiderstand muss dann am letzten Gerät des
Busses angebracht werden. Beachten Sie, dass für die
SCSI-Kabellänge Beschränkungen gelten. Die maximale
Länge eines LVD-SCSI-Busses beträgt 12 m. Schließen Sie
dieses Gerät nicht an einen SCSI-RAID-Controller/Bus an.
6 Installationshinweise
3 Stecken Sie das Ethernet-Kabel in den Ethernet-Anschluss auf der
Rückseite des Geräts. Die Ethernet-Verbindung dient dem Einsatz
des Webclients.
4 Stecken Sie ein Netzkabel in den Stromanschluss auf der
Rückseite des Geräts. Das Gerät wird mit Netzkabeln für den
US- und den EU-Markt ausgeliefert.
5 Schalten Sie das Gerät mit dem Stromschalter auf der Rückseite ein.
6 Fahren Sie das Hostsystem hoch.
7 Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Host mit dem Bandlaufwerk im Gerät
kommunizieren kann.
8 Konfigurieren Sie das Gerät mit dem Bedienfeld.

Precaución Se deben extraer los tornillos de bloqueo de
transporte antes de poner en funcionamiento
el StorageLoaderTM.
Al seguir los pasos detallados a continuación, consulte los números

1 Desembale el StorageLoader y colóquelo en un estante. Para
obtener más instrucciones, consulte la Tandberg StorageLoaderTM

2 Conecte los cables SCSI a los dos conectores SCSI de la parte
posterior del cargador.
a. Conecte el cable entre el host y el conector SCSI del
StorageLoader. Fije el cable con los tornillos de mariposa
del conector.
b. Si el StorageLoader es el último dispositivo del bus, conecte
un terminador SCSI al otro conector SCSI para terminar
el bus.
c. Es posible encadenar varios dispositivos en el bus SCSI.
Si lo hace, deberá conectarse el terminador al último
dispositivo del bus. No olvide las limitaciones de longitud del
cable SCSI. La máxima longitud permitida para un bus SCSI
LVD es de 12 metros. No conecte este dispositivo a una
controladora o bus RAID SCSI.

3 Conecte el cable Ethernet al puerto Ethernet en la parte trasera
del cargador. La conexión Ethernet permite el uso del
Cliente Web.
4 Conecte un cable de alimentación al conector de alimentación
de la parte trasera del cargador. Los cables de alimentación de
la UE y de EE.UU. se suministran con el cargador.
5 Para encender el cargador, encienda el interruptor de alimentación
de la parte trasera.
6 Encienda el sistema host.
7 Compruebe que el host se puede comunicar con los lectores del
cargador.
8 Configure el cargador con la ayuda del panel de operador del
cargador.
