INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD

1. Todas las instrucciones de seguridad y operación deberán ser leídas antes de

que el aparato eléctrico sea operado.

2. Las instrucciones de seguridad y operación deberán ser guardadas para

referencia futura.

3. Todas las advertencias en el aparato eléctrico y en sus instrucciones de

operación deben ser respetadas.

4. Todas las instrucciones de operación y uso deben ser seguidas.

5. El aparato eléctrico no deberá ser usado cerca del agua—por ejemplo, cerca

de la tina de baño, lavabo, sótano mojado o cerca de una alberca, etc..

AC-DC POWER CONVERTERS

1. Introduction

1.1 Description

This manual provides basic installation instructions for the AC-DC Power

Converters for use with the DSLAM system.

CAUTION

Electronic equipment can be damaged by electrostatic discharges

(ESD). We strongly recommend that you use proper static precautions

when handling this equipment or any information-technology

equipment.

1.2 Available Models

The AC-DC Power Converters are available in single and dual models:

• Single AC-DC Power Converter (LRA1200A-1PS)

• Dual AC-DC Power Converter (LRA1200A-2PS)

2. Installation

Step #1: Unpack and Inspect the AC-DC Power Converter

Remove the external power converter from its packaging and inspect the contents.

You should have the following components:

• LRA1200A-1PS: Single AC-DC Power Converter, (1) AC power cord, (1) DC

power cord, this users’ manual

• LRA1200A-2PS: Dual AC-DC Power Converter, (2) AC power cords, (2) DC

power cords, this users’ manual

AC-DC POWER CONVERTERS

Step #2: Site Selection

When selecting a site for the Power Converter, consider the following:

• The maximum recommended ambient temperature is 122°F (50°C). Consider

internal temperatures of the equipment rack for continued safe operation.

• Do not block power-supply vents or otherwise restrict airflow when installing

the unit.

• Consider mechanical loading of the equipment rack so that the rack remains

stable and unlikely to tip over.

• Consider the overall loading of the branch circuit.

• Make sure that a reliable grounding path is maintained. This unit is intended

for use with a grounded AC connection.

If the AC-DC Power Converter will be mounted in an equipment rack, use the

mounting hardware supplied by the equipment rack manufacturer.

Step #3: Connecting the AC-DC Power Converter

Observing the polarity, connect the DC power cord(s) from the Converter to the

equipment you want to power.

Plug the AC power cord(s) into the Converter and connect to power. For

redundancy, connect the power cords from the Converter to separate branch

circuits.

Switch on the Converter.
