You will need this manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly,

operating, inspection, maintenance and cleaning procedures, parts list and as-

sembly diagram. Keep your invoice with this manual. Write the invoice number

on the inside of the front cover. Keep this manual and invoice in a safe and dry

place for future reference.

UNPACKING

When unpacking, check to make sure all the parts shown on the Parts List (page 7) are

included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the

number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible.

GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

1. Keep work area clean and dry. Cluttered, damp, or wet work areas invite

injuries.

2. Keep children away from work area. Do not allow children to handle this

product.

3. Store idle equipment. When not in use, tools and equipment should be stored

in a dry location to inhibit rust. Always lock up tools and equipment, and keep out

of reach of children.

4. Do not use this product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read

6. Dress safely. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, as they can become caught

in moving parts. Wear a protective hair covering to prevent long hair from be-

coming caught in moving parts.

7. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times to prevent

tripping, falling, back injury, etc.

8. Industrial applications must follow OSHA requirements.

9. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing at all times. Use common sense. Do not

use this product when you are tired or distracted from the job at hand.

10. Check for damaged parts. Before using this product, carefully check that it will

operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for damaged parts

and any other conditions that may affect the operation of this product. Replace

or repair damaged or worn parts immediately.

11. Replacement parts and accessories: When servicing, use only identical re-

placement parts. Only use accessories intended for use with this product. Ap-

proved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools.

12. Maintain this product with care. Keep this product clean and dry for better and

safer performance. For your safety, service and maintenance should be per-

formed regularly by a qualified technician.

13. Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force a small tool to do the

work of a larger industrial tool. There are certain applications for which this tool

was designed. It will do the job better and more safely at the capacity for which it

was intended. Do not modify this tool, and do not use this tool for a purpose for

which it was not intended.

14. WARNING! The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this

manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. The

operator must understand that common sense and caution are factors, which

cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

SPECIFIC PRODUCT WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

1. WARNING! Do not exceed the maximum 125 PSI storage pressure. Over

pressurizing the Air Tank could result in an explosion. Do not fill the Air Tank from

any compressed gas cylinder or a system charged with greater than 125 PSI.

Only fill the Air Tank with air from a service station or low pressure air compressor

system.

2. Do not leave the AirTank unattended while it is being filled by the air com-

pressor. Unattended use could result in an explosion, resulting in serious per-

sonal injury and/or property damage.

3. Do not fill the AirTank with any gas or other flammable substance under

any circumstances.

4. Burst hazard! Store the AirTank indoors. Do not expose the Air Tank to

moisture or excessive heat. Heat and humidity will contribute to corrosion of

the Tank (15). The Air Tank should be examined periodically. If the Tank shows

any evidence of dents, rust, gouges, bulges, or any damage to the welds is noted

the Air Tank should no longer be used.

5. It is recommended that you do not use the AirTank after the DESTROY

DATE shown on the bottom of theTank (15). Never puncture or set fire to an

Air Tank. Contact local solid waste authorities for instructions on correct disposal

or recycling of an Air Tank.

6. Pull the Safety Release Valve Ring (6) prior to operation to ensure the Valve

is operating properly and to clear the Valve of any obstructions.

7. When filling an object with air, beware of possible explosion. The Air Tank is

capable of producing compressed air at high pressure which could cause tires,

toys, or other inflatables to explode.

8. Before each use, always check all connections and joints on the AirTank to

make sure no air leaks are present. Check for air leaks by using soapy water.

9. Maintain a safe working environment. Keep the work area well lit. Make sure

there is adequate surrounding work space. Always keep the area free of obstruc-

tions, grease, oil, trash, and other debris. Do not use the Air Tank in areas near

flammable chemicals, dusts, and vapors.

10. Maintain labels and nameplates on the AirTank. These carry important infor-

mation. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.

12. WARNING! The brass components of this product contain lead, a chemical

known to the State of California to cause birth defects (or other reproductive

harm).

11. Do not clean the AirTank with cleaners that are combustible or corrosive.

NOTE: For additional references to the parts listed in the following pages, refer to the

Assembly Diagram (page 8).

1. Prior to use, the two Handles (17) and Handle Grips (16) must be attached to the

Air Tank. To do so, insert the Handles into the mounting slots located on the

upper portion of the Tank (15). Secure the Handles to the Tank, using the two

Bolts (22). Then, insert the two Handle Grips onto the ends of the Handles.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Close the Air Outlet Knob (1.2) by turning it

clockwise

. Also, make sure to close

the Drain Valve Assembly (1) by turning its Knob

clockwise

(See Figure B, next page.)

2. Attach an air supply hose from a service station or low pressure air compressor

to the Air Inlet Connector (12) of the Air Tank. Then, begin pumping air into the

Air Tank. (See Figure B.)

Filling The Air Tank:

3. Closely monitor the Pressure Gauge (14) as you fill the Tank (15). Continue

filling the Tank to 125 PSI maximum. Then, disconnect the air supply hose

from the service station or low pressure air compressor. (See Figure B.)

Inflating From The Air Tank:

1. WARNING! Prior to inflating a toy, tire, or other object, make sure you are aware

of the proper air pressure rating (PSI) of the object to be inflated. Follow the

manufacturer’s recommended PSI for the object being inflated. Never over

inflate or under inflate the object.

2. Attach the

Air Chuck

of the Air Hose (5) to the air inlet connector of the inflatable

object. (See Figure B.)

3. Open the Air Outlet Knob (1.2) by turning it

counterclockwise

. Air will now begin

to flow out of the Air Tank into the inflatable object. (See Figure B.)

4. Frequently check the air pressure of the inflatable object. To do so, close the

Air Outlet Knob (1.2) by turning it

clockwise

. Disconnect the

of the Air

Hose (5) from the air inlet connector of the inflatable object. Use an air pressure

gauge (not included) to check the air pressure of the inflatable object.

(See Figure B.)

5. If necessary, repeat Steps #2, #3, #4 above until the inflatable object is filled with

air to its proper PSI rating.

6. When finished filling the inflatable object, close the Air Outlet Knob (1.2) by

turning it

clockwise

. Disconnect the

inlet connector of the inflatable object. (See Figure B.)

7. NOTE: When the operating pressure drops below 85 PSI, it is recommended to

refill the Air Tank to its maximum 125 PSI operating pressure rating.

INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING

1. Before each use, inspect the general condition of the Air Tank. Check the Air

Tank for loose connections and joints, cracked, bent, or broken parts, damaged

Air Hose, damaged Tank, and any other condition that may affect the safe opera-

tion of the Air Tank. If a problem occurs, have the problem corrected before

further use. Do not use damaged equipment.

2. Daily: Slowly open the Drain Valve Assembly (1) by turning its Knob

counter-

clockwise

, and allow all moisture to drain from the Tank (15). Next, close the

Drain Valve Assembly by turning its Knob

clockwise

. Then, refill the Air Tank to

its maximum 125 PSI operating pressure rating.

3. When cleaning, use only water and a mild detergent. Then dry. Do not use

cleaners that are combustible or corrosive.
