Safety

This product is intended for indoor use only.

Important

• Never subject theproduct to high temperature, dust, heavy vibration, impacts, humidity or moisture.

• Do not place theproduct where it could fall into water or other liquid. Do not place any objects

containing liquid on theproduct, e.g. ﬂower vases or drinks.

• Do not cover theproduct. Adequate ventilation with adistance of at least 10 cm between theproduct

and thesurrounding area is necessary to prevent theproduct from becoming too warm.

• Disconnect theproduct from thepower supply by unplugging it from thewall socket.

Make sure that thewall socket and plug are easily accessible.

• Theon/off button does not disconnect theproduct from themains electricity.

• Protect your hearing. Listening on high volume for prolonged periods can lead to permanent

hearing loss.

• Repairs and service should only be performed by qualiﬁed tradesmen, and only with original

spare parts.

Installation

Aerial

Extend theaerial (15) fully for thebest possible radio reception.

Theoptimum reception is usually achieved when theaerial is in anupright, vertical position.

Connecting themains adapter

Connect themains

adapter to theDC IN

socket (18) and to

a230V wall socket.

Remember to unplug

theclock radio from

thewall socket during

heavy thunder storms to

protect it.

External audio source input socket

If you wish to connect anexternal audio source to theclock radio such as amobile phone or MP3 player

via acable, you can do this by plugging it into theLINE-IN socket (19) on theback of theclock radio.

Instructions for use

Setting thetime and date

1. In standby mode press in [ ] (17) on theback of theclock radio. Thehour display will start

to ﬂash.

2. Set thehour with [ ] or [ ], conﬁrm with [ ].

3. Repeat thesame procedure for theminutes, year, month and day. Conﬁrm each step with [ ].

Display of time and date

• In standby mode, press [ ] to select 24-hour or 12-hour clock mode.

• In standby mode, press [ ] to change thedisplay to show day/month and year.

On/off

Turn theclock radio on/off by pressing [ ] for 3 seconds.

Customised audio settings

Adjust thevolume by pressing repeatedly on [ ] or [ ].

Display light (dimmer)

Adjust thedisplay backlight by repeatedly pressing [ ].

Select between high, low or off.

In theoff mode, thedisplay automatically switches off after 5 seconds.

FM radio

Selecting anaudio source: Press [ ] repeatedly until “tUNE” appears on thedisplay.

Thedisplay will show theset frequency after this.

Searching for radio stations

1. Manual tuning: Press repeatedly on [ ] or [ ] to change to alower or higher frequency.

2. Automatic search: Hold in [ ] or [ ] to automatically scan for thenext radio channel.

Thesearch stops when thenext channel has been found.

Programme memory

Theclock radio can store up to 60 channels in theprogramme memory.

• Press [ ] to automatically search through theentire frequency band. Theradio channels

with thestrongest signal will be saved in thememory.

• Press [ ] again to cancel thesearch.

Listening to your saved stations:

Press [ ] or [ ] to select aradio channel from thememory.

External devices

Bluetooth

1. Selecting anaudio source: Press [ ] repeatedly

until “bt” appears on thedisplay.

2. Make sure that no other Bluetooth device is

connected to theclock radio (“bt” ﬂashes).

3. Activate Bluetooth on thedevice that you want

to connect. Look for theclock radio on thelist of

detected devices on theBluetooth device (refer

to theinstruction manual of thedevice). Once

thedevices have found each other, theclock radio

will appear as “38-9059” on theBluetooth device.

4. Select 38-9059 from thelist. You might need to

enter thePIN-code 0000. Certain devices may also

require you to approve theconnection.

5. Theclock radio will emit anaudible signal and “bt”

will shine steadily in thedisplay once contact has

been established.

6. Adjust thevolume and control playback from

theBluetooth device or thetouch buttons on

theclock radio (12−14).

7. Adjust thevolume on theBluetooth device and

theclock radio.

Play MP3 files from aUSB memory

1. Selecting anaudio source: Press [ ] repeatedly

until “USb” appears on thedisplay.

2. Insert aUSB ﬂash drive in theUSB port intended

for MP3 ﬁles (20). Make sure to insert

theUSB ﬂash drive theright way round so that

theconnectors are not damaged. Always push

theUSB ﬂash drive straight in without twisting or

bending it.

3. Once theUSB ﬂash drive has been read theﬁrst

track will be played automatically. Thedisplay

shows theplaying time.

4. Press repeatedly on [ ] or [ ] to change tracks.

5. Hold in [ ] or [ ] while a track is playing to search backwards or forwards in the track.

6. Press once on [ ] to temporarily pause playback, “PAUS” is shown in thedisplay.

Press thebutton again to resume playback.

Audio source input (LINE)

1. Connect anexternal audio source to

the3.5mm input jack (19) on theback of

theclock radio.

2. Selecting anaudio source: Press [ ]

repeatedly until “LINE” appears on

thedisplay.

3. Start playback on theexternal device.

4. Adjust thevolume levels on theexternal

device and theclock radio.

Sleep timer

Set thetime for how long theclock radio is to be left on before it automatically shuts off.

When theclock radio is switched on, press [ ] repeatedly to select between:

Off (off), 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 min.

Alarm

Setting thealarm

• In standby mode hold in [ ] (16) to come to thealarm setting. Thehour display will start to ﬂash.

• Press or hold in [ ] or [ ] to change thevalue.

• Conﬁrm each step with [ ].

Set thefollowing in sequential order:

1. Hours

2. Minutes

3. Ring signal: Select between signal (BUZZ), radio (tUNE) or playback from theUSB ﬂash drive (USb)

4. Ringtone volume: Adjust theringtone volume (U01–U30)

Activating/deactivating thealarm

In standby mode, press [ ] to activate or deactivate thealarm. Thealarm icon (1) is displayed

when thealarm is activated.

Shutting off thealarm

When thealarm goes off, press any of thebuttons on theback of theclock radio (16, 17, 22, 23)

to turn it off. Thealarm is turned off and will sound at theset time on thenext day.

Activating thesnooze function

When thealarm goes off, press any of thetouch buttons (8–14) on thefront of theclock radio to

activate snooze. Thealarm will turn off and then sound again after 9 minutes.

Thealarm icon (1) will ﬂash when thesnooze feature is activated.

Charging

Wireless charging of Qi compatible devices

Place thephone/tablet on theQi charging

area. When thedevice is charging theLED

indicator (5) will ﬂash slowly.

• Can only charge one device at atime.

• Never place any objects other than Qi-

compatible devices on theclock radio

as they can inactivate theUSB charging

port on theback of theclock radio.

Charging using theUSB port

Connect theexternal device that you wish to

charge to theUSB port (21).

Note:

TheUSB charge port is inactivated when

Qi charging is in progress.

Care and maintenance

Clean theproduct using adamp cloth. Use only mild cleaning agents, never solvents

or corrosive chemicals.

Troubleshooting guide

Theclock radio will

not switch on.

• Make sure that themains adapter and mains lead are intact

and undamaged.

• Make sure that themains adapter and its lead are properly connected

both to awall socket and theclock radio.

• Is thewall socket energised?

No sound from

thespeakers.

• Check thevolume.

No sound from

connected external

devices.

If using Bluetooth:

• Make sure that thecorrect audio source has been chosen.

• Check thevolume level of both theclock radio and theconnected device.

• Make sure that theBluetooth connection has been properly established.

• Test theplayback from theBluetooth device without it being connected

to theclock radio to ensure that it is working.

Things to consider:

Other wireless equipment can negatively impact thetransmission range.

Therange can also be affected by thetype of obstacles located between

thetransmitter and thereceiver (e.g. aconcrete wall will interfere with

thesignal more than aplasterboard wall).

If you have connected aUSB ﬂash drive:

• Make sure that thecorrect audio source has been chosen.

• Make sure that theﬁles on theUSB ﬂash drive are mp3 type ﬁles.

• Try to remove and theinsert theUSB ﬂash drive again.

If using theline-in socket (LINE):

• Make sure that thecorrect audio source has been chosen.

• Check thevolume level of both theclock radio and theconnected device.

• Check that thecable connecting thedevice and theclock radio (19)

is undamaged and properly connected.

Poor or non-

existent radio

reception.

Theautomatic FM

scan doesn’t work.

• Check that theradio frequency is correctly set.

• Make sure that theaerial is fully extended.

• Try moving theaerial.

• Move theclock radio to another location.

Set alarm does

not sound.

• Make sure that theclock radio is set to thecorrect time and date.

• Check that thealarm is activated.

Connected devices

don’t charge or

charge slowly.

Wireless Qi charging:

• Ensure that thedevice that is to be charged supports Qi charging.

• Only charge one device at atime.

Charging via USB:

• Ensure that no object is placed on theclock radio. TheUSB port

can be inactivated if theclock radio senses that something has been

placed on theQi charging surface.

• Check that theexternal device that you wish to charge is connected

to theUSB port marked (21).

Responsible disposal

This symbol indicates that this product should not be disposed of with general

household waste. This applies throughout theentire EU. In order to prevent

any harm to theenvironment or health hazards caused by incorrect waste

disposal, theproduct must be handed in for recycling so that thematerial can
