4. Important notes

• Installation, commissioning and maintenance are to be performed only by a

qualified expert in accordance with the instructions provided, legal requirements

and recognised engineering standards.

• All technical connection regulations specified by the local water and electricity

supply companies must be observed.

• The battery compartment with battery or power supply with extension cable must

be ordered separately (see Accessories, Chapter 28).

• All work must be carried out in a de-energised state.

• We reserve the right to make changes.

5. Application

AQUACONTACT - a stainless steel shower panel for wall mounting with electronic

time control for battery or mains operation, with DN15 thermostat battery. For

connection to hot and cold water supply. 30 second flow time.

With a device for an optional bypass solenoid valve cartridge for carrying out thermal

disinfection, with the option of manual thermal disinfection.

With integrated hygiene flush (24h after last actuation, for 10s). Functions which can

be activated via reflection code on sensor: Activation/deactivation of hygiene flush

and cleaning switch-off (3 min.).

Additional functions via optional remote control

– Adjustment of flow and interval times for hygiene flush

– Switch from time control to body reflection, maximum flow time of 300 seconds

– Program-controlled thermal disinfection with safety switch-off

Warning!

drinking water and thus pose a health or mortality risk.

• Operate the product only with safety extra low voltage (SELV). The components

must not be earthed.

• Protect the power supply with a residual current circuit breaker (RCD).

Failure to observe this instruction can result in death or material damage due to

electric shock or fire, for example.

☞Important!

Prior to the assembly process, flush the pipework in accordance with DIN 1988.

☞To protect the tiles, use masking tape when marking and drilling. Drill at low speed.

☞Depending on the composition of the wall, special wall plugs may have to be used

(to be provided by the customer).

Only for water connection from the rear: Install the connection brackets (a) leak-tight.

Screw in the water volume regulators (b) leak-tight.

Align the water volume regulators so that the locking screw and operating element

are freely accessible.

For a shower head height of 2.10 m to 2.30 m, mark drill holes for installation at a

height (c) of 2.14 m to 2.34 m from the top of the finished floor.

Drill holes in accordance with these markings.

Insert the wall plugs.

Screw on the suspension rail.

Suspend the shower panel.

Mark the remaining drill holes.

☞The battery compartment or power supply and extension cable are not part of the

scope of delivery (see Accessories, Chapter 28).

☞If you are using a wall-mounted power supply unit, it must be installed around 3 m

away from the shower.

Connect the AQUACONTACT sensor (d) to

– a battery compartment (e)

– a wall-mounted power supply unit (f).

☞If the battery charge state is low, the LED flashes in a 20 second cycle.

Remove the protective film from the shower panel.

11.14

Seal the shower panel (e.g. with Chromol, not part of the scope of delivery, see

Accessories, Chapter 28).

Only for water connection from the rear: Prioritise work steps 11.17 to 11.19.

Mount the shower panel on the suspension rail and screw tight.

12. Function

☞You can switch between time control and body reflection using the remote control

(not in the scope of delivery; see Accessories, Chapter 28)

☞The flow duration is factory-set to 30 seconds.

13. Thermal disinfection -manual-

This shower fitting offers thermal disinfection to reduce the risk of a legionella

infection.

The thermal disinfection process is triggered by overturning the thermostat.

Warning!

Personal protective measures (scald protection) must be implemented for the

duration of the thermal disinfection. This might include cordoning off the shower

facilities.

Failure to observe this instruction can result in injuries due to scalding.

The operator is responsible for the execution, monitoring, and logging (room,

tapping point, date, time, temperature and duration).

The manufacturer does not accept any liability for claims by third parties relating to

the improper execution of thermal disinfection on the part of the operator.

The thermostat fitting has been prepared to carry out a thermal disinfection process

when the thermostat is overturned. The thermostat fitting can be manually thermally

disinfected (flushed with water at a temperature of 70°C) by unlocking the covered

stop on the temperature selector.

13.1

A shower pipe (e.g. HT pipe, di= 100 mm) should be placed under the shower head

to deflect the hot water to avoid scalding during the thermal disinfection process.

13.2

Turn the temperature selector (a) to the hot water stop.

13.3

Use the Allen key to push in the stop.

13.4

Turn the temperature selector (a) in an anti-clockwise direction up to the stop.

13.5

Trigger the fitting.

13.6

Measure the hot water temperature.

13.7

If the hot water temperature is > 70°C, the fitting should be flushed for at least 3

minutes. Trigger the fitting several times for this purpose.

☞The thermal disinfection process must be recorded (room, tapping point, date, time,

temperature, duration).

13.8

Turn the temperature selector (a) clockwise until it engages.

Caution!

The temperature selector (a) may not be turned beyond the stop in an anti-

clockwise direction.

13.9

Test the limit stop.

13.10

Trigger the fitting to drain the remaining hot water.

13.11

Measure the water temperature. The maximum water temperature may not exceed

40°C (see Chapter 15.).

☞Once thermal disinfection has been completed, the scald protector does not need to

be reset.

14. Thermal disinfection -automatic-

This fitting offers thermal disinfection to reduce the risk of a legionella infection.

Caution!

The directions in the Thermal Disinfection Planning Aid (01805618) must be

adhered to.

Warning!

duration of the thermal disinfection. This might include cordoning off the shower

facilities.

Failure to observe this instruction can result in injuries due to scalding.

The operator is responsible for the execution, monitoring, and logging (room,

tapping point, date, time, temperature and duration).

The manufacturer does not accept any liability for claims by third parties relating to

the improper execution of thermal disinfection on the part of the operator.

☞At the factory, the thermal disinfection function is set so that the fitting cools down for

1 minute after a 5 minute application time.

☞Thermal disinfection can only be triggered using the remote control.

You can adjust the thermal disinfection parameters using the remote control (not part

of the scope of delivery, see Chapter 28.).

An application time of 3, 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes can be chosen for the thermal

disinfection process. During the application time, water flows without interruption for

2 minutes; the water then flows in pulses until the end of the application time (water

and energy saving function). The cooling time can be set to 0, 1, 3, 5, or 10 minutes.
