Design and Installation Considerations
1. Appliance Location
NOTICE: Check building codes prior to installation.
• InstallationMUSTcomplywithlocal,regional,stateand
nationalcodesandregulations.
• Consult insurance carrier, local building inspector, re
ofcialsorauthoritieshavingjurisdictionoverrestrictions,
installationinspectionandpermits.
Itisagoodideatoplanyourinstallationonpaper,usingexact
measurementsfor clearances andoor protection, before
actuallybeginningtheinstallation
Considerationmustbegivento:
• Safety,convenience,trafcow
• Placementofthechimneyandchimneyconnector.
• If you are not using an existing chimney, place the
appliance where there will be a clear passage for a
factory-builtlistedchimneythroughtheceilingandroof.
• Installing an optional outside air kit would affect the
locationoftheventtermination.

NOTICE: Locating the appliance in a location of considerable
air movement can cause intermittent smoke spillage from
appliance. Do not locate appliance near:
• Frequently open doors
• Central heat outlets or returns
