The Optipratic is delivered already fitted.

The foot straps are standard equipment

(except for special orders)

The Hull

A rope kit is delivered with the hull.

It includes :

The front towing rope with wooden

handle.

Back towing rope

Cunningham rope

Adjustment strap cord

The foot straps are fitted with elastic to keep

the right tension.

This elastic allows the strap to always be

held up.

The strap rope delivered in the kit is

attached to the lower pad-eye.

Start from this pad-eye, throu

h the strap

eyelet, return to the pad-eye and an

ultimate passage into the eyelet and hold in

place with a half knot.

The second larger elastic fixed on the lower

pad-eye holds the rudder while sailing, but

we'll see this later.

The front towing rope must be installed with

the black compression washer. Fix the

wooden handle to the front end of the rope.

The back towing rope is placed in the 2 TOP

holes at the back of the boat and held in

place by a figure of eight knot.

This system allows the coach to attach

several boats to each other without tyin

knots.

A simple passage of the wooden handle into

the loop at the back of the boat in front is

enough.

The Cunningham :

This is fixed by a simple passage throu

the mast-guidance plate.

Circuit :

Start at the mast- guidance plate , throu

the sail eyelet (tack point) and then back

into the aluminium cleat placed on the

mast-guidance plate.

The Sail

The Optipratic sail has a sleeve for the mast.

Slide the mast into the sail, and then slide

the boom into the strap of the sheet.

The foot of the sail is adjusted by a rope that

attaches to the fairlead to the end of the

boom.

The fairlead goes through the sail eyelet

back into the fairlead to finish in the cleat on

the boom.

The Sprit

Place the rope as in the photo.

The sprit is captive but removable.

Starting from the sprit rope on the mast into

the fairlead (bowline or figure-eight knot),

then through the sprit fairlead, back into the

fairlead to finish in the aluminium cleat

located just below the fairlead.

Don’t forget to hold in place with a figure-

eight knot.

II Rigging the Optipratic

Specially desi

ned for sailin

schools, it

allows easy and safe use.

The mast is installed on the boat before the

mainsheet. Put the marker towards the

front of the boat. Place the mast into the

mast foot.

Then put the rigging in the proper position,

boom to the rear. The boom is permanently

connected to the mast.

The Cunningham is passed throu

tack eyelet and is fixed onto the aluminium

cleat on the mast-guidance plate.

The boom van

is attached to the boom by a

single clove hitch knot, then passed into the

cleat on the mast, and held in place by a

stop knot.

The mainsheet is fixed to the becket of the

pulley and installed on the small strap in the

middle of the boom.

Start from the becket of this pulley

through the front pulley on the bottom of the

boat, and then up again to to the hi

h pulley

and down to the low pulley just behind.

Make a figure eight knot at the end of this

sheet.

Rudder and Dagger-board

The rudder is fixed in a traditional way on

the pintals.

It is held in place by the elastic on the

transom.

Slide it over the front of the bar.

You can also slide the stick into it, if you do

not wish to use it.

Place the fine edge of the dagger-board

towards the back of the boat.

The elastic holds it in place if you wish to

navigate with the dagger-board lifted

slightly.
