Safety instructions
1. Readandstrictlyfollowthisinstallationandoperatinginstructionstoensurea
longlifeandreliablecylinderoperation.
2. Themanufacturerofthiscylinderwillnotbeliableforanydamagesduetothe
failuretofollowtheinstallationandoperationinstructions.
3. Thecylindermustnotbeinstalledinroomswherethetemperaturemaydrop
below0°C.
4. The cylinder’s installation and the initial start-up, as well as all electrical and
hydraulicworkmustbeperformedbyaqualiedprofessionalinstaller.
5. The cylinder is designed for standing vertical installation- screw on feet or
wall-hung installation (after purchasing an appropriate hanger from KOSPEL
company),eitherhorizontallyorvertically.
6. Mountingofthedeviceinawall-hungpositionshouldbedoneonthewallwith
sufcientcarryingcapacity.Fulltank’sweight:250kg.
7. Thedevicemustbeinstalledinsuchaplaceandinsuchawayinordernotto
oodtheroomincaseoftheemergencywaterleak.
8. Connectionstowatersupplysystemandcentralheatingsystemmustbemade
inaccordancewiththediagraminthisinstallationinstruction.Failuretofollowthe
installationinstructioninvalidatethewarrantyandmaycausecylinder’sdamage.
9. Connectionstowatersupplysystemmustbemadeinaccordancewiththelegally
bindingstandards.
10. Thecylinderisapressureappliancedesignedforconnectiontothewatersupply
systemwherethewaterpressuredoesn’texceed0,6MPa.Ifthewaterpressure
exceeds0,6MPa,thepressurereducingvalvebeforecylindermustbetted.
11. Asmallleakfromthesafetyvalvethroughtheoutletpipemayoccur-itisanormal
operatingstateoftheappliance.Theoutletofthepipehastoremainopen.Do
notclogit,ascloggedoutletmaycauseabreakdownofthecylinder.
12. Donotusethecylinderifyoususpectthatthesafetyvalvemaybefaulty.
13. Thetankisequippedwithamagnesiumanode-anadditionalprotectionagainst
corrosion.Theanodeisanoperatingpart,therefore,itisexposedtowear.The
condition of the magnesium anode should be controlled every 12 months.
The anode must be replaced once every 18 months.
14. Ratedtemperatureofwaterinthecylindershouldnotexceed80°C.
Thecylinderissuitableforttinganimmersionheaterwiththermostate.g.GRW1.4,
GRW2.0.Theimmersionheatermustbettedinlieuofcork1½″.
Amaximumlengthofimmersionheater:400mm.

Connection to the water system
Connectionto thewatersystemmust beperformedaccording tobindingnorms of
hydraulicinstallation.Thecylinderisapressureappliancedesignedforconnection
tothewatersupplysystemwherethewaterpressuredoesn’texceed0,6MPa.Ifthe
waterpressureexceeds0,6MPa,thepressurereducingvalvebeforecylindermust
betted.Pleasefollowthewaterconnectioninstructionsbelow:
- installtheT-connectionwith6barsafetyvalve(e.g.ZB-4)andthedrainvalveto
thettingofthecoldwaterinlet[ZW].It’sforbiddentoinstallacut-offvalve(or
anyowreducer)betweenthetankandthesafetyvalveandonitsoutlet.The
safetyvalvemustbeinstalledinsuchaplaceastoquicklyletyounoticethe
outgoingwater,
- installthecylinderequippedwiththesafetyvalvetothewatersystem,
- attached pipe (PEX-AL-PEX) must be properly screwed into one of the two
sockets3/4″acc.tothediagram‘SP180mountingoptions’
Sockets3/4″whicharelocatedintheupperpartoftheunitareintendedforcoldwater
inletandhotwateroutlet.
Eachcylinderisequippedwithttingfordomestichotwatercirculationconnection-1/2″.
WhenmountedintheverticalpositionPEX-AL-PEXpipecanbescrewedinanyofthe
3/4″sockets,however,ZW(coldwater)shouldbeledtothebottompartofthestorage
tank,whereasCW(hotwater)shouldbedeliveredfromupperpartsofthestorage.
WhenmountedinthehorizontalpositionPEX-AL-PEXpipemustbescrewedinthe
bottomsocketandZW(coldwater)inletshouldbeattachedtoit.

When mounted in vertical positions (connections up) in order to allow gravity
draining-drainingpipeshouldbeledtowardsthebottomofthestoragetank.

mustbeinstalledbeforethepipeunions.Aowrateofheatingwatermustbehigh
enoughtomaximisecylinder’sefciency(seetechnicaldatatable).Itconcernsthe
forcedcirculationinstallation(withacentralheatingwaterpump).

Start-up
Beforethestart-upmakesurethattheinstallationprocedureshavebeencarriedout
inaccordancewiththeregulationsincludedinthismanual.
Cylindermustbelledwithwater:
• turnonthevalveoncoldwatersupplypipe,
• turnonthehotwateroutletvalve(wateroutowwithouttheairbubblesindicates
thatthetankisfull),
• turnofftheoutletvalves,
• turnontheheatingmediumvalves,
• ventheatingcircuit-ifneedbe.
Checkforwaterandheatingmediumleaks.Checkoutthesafetyvalveperformance
inaccordancewithvalvemanufacturer’sinstruction.

Operation
Followtheguidelinesbelowforsafetyandtrouble-freecylinderoperation:
• Checkout thesafetyvalveperformanceonce every14days. Donotusethe
cylinderifthewaterdoesnotcomeout(itindicatesthatthevalveisbroken).
• Cleaninsideofthecylinderperiodically.Thefrequencyofcleaningdependson
thedegreeofwaterhardness.Thecleaningshouldbedonebyaqualiedperson.
• Thewearconditionoftheanodemustbeinspectedannually.
• Theanodemustbereplacedonceevery18months.
- anoderodreplacement[3]:takeoffanode’sblank[10],takeoutaninsulation
ring,turnoffthecut-offvalveoncoldwatersupplypipe,turnonthehotwater
valve(mixertap),turnthedrainvalveon,drainasmuchwaterasyouneed
toeasilyunscrewtheanoderod(avoidingroomooding).Removethecork
andunscrewtheanoderod.
• Heatupthewaterabove70°Cperiodicallyforhygienereasons.
• Failuresormalfunctionsnotifytotheseller.
• Insulatetheoutletpipeandheatingcoilconnectionpipestominimisetheheat
loss(recommended).
Aboveactivitiesarebeyondofthescopeof warranty service (should be done by
theuser).
