Introduction

This hairdryer is part of the new Philips Salon Compact range and is

specially designed to offer you comfortable and reliable drying. It has a

compact and lightweight design that makes it easy to use. Its strong

airow dries your hair quickly and gives it the lustre, body and richness

you love.

Important

Read these instructions for use carefully before you use the appliance and

save them for future reference.

Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the

local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.

Check the condition of the mains cord regularly. Do not use the

appliance if the plug, the cord or the appliance itself is damaged.

If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Philips, a service

centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualied persons in order to

avoid a hazard.

Keep this appliance away from water. Do not use this product near

or over water contained in baths, washbasins, sinks etc.When you

use the appliance in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the

proximity of water presents a risk, even when the hairdryer is

switched off.

For additional protection, we advise you to install a residual current

device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not higher than

30mA in the electrical circuit that supplies the bathroom.Ask your

installer for advice.

Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.

Never block the air grilles.

This appliance is equipped with an overheat protection device. If the

appliance overheats, it switches off automatically. Unplug the

appliance and let it cool down for a few minutes. Before you switch

the appliance back on, check the grilles to make sure they are not

blocked by uff, hair, etc.

Always switch off the appliance before you put it down, even if it is

only for a moment.

Always unplug the appliance after use.

Do not wind the mains cord round the appliance.

Never use any accessories or parts from other manufacturers or

that have not been specically advised by Philips.

Do not insert metal objects into the air grilles in order to avoid

electric shock.

Noise level: Lc = 81 dB[A]



electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled properly and in accordance with

the instructions in this instruction manual, the appliance is safe to use

according to scientic evidence available today.



1 Put the plug in the wall socket.

2 Select the desired speed to switch on the appliance: (Fig. 2)

II: Turbo airow for fast drying

I: Gentle airow especially intended for styling

O: Off

To dry your hair, make brushing movements with the dryer at a small

distance from your hair.

Styling

The concentrator enables you to direct the airow at the brush or comb

with which you style your hair.

1 To connect the concentrator, simply snap it onto the appliance.

2 To disconnect the concentrator, pull it off the appliance (Fig. 3).

Cleaning

Always unplug the appliance before you clean it.

Never rinse the appliance with water.

1 Clean the appliance with a dry cloth.

2 Remove the attachment before you clean it.

3 Clean the attachment with a moist cloth or rinse it under the tap.

Storage

Always unplug the appliance before you store it.

Never put the appliance down on one of its air grilles.Always put it on

one of its sides.

Put the appliance in a safe place and let it cool down.

Do not wind the mains cord round the appliance.

Environment

Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste

at the end of its life, but hand it in at an ofcial collection point for

recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 4).

If problems arise with the hairdryer and you are unable to solve them

with the information below, please contact the nearest Philips service

centre or the Philips Customer Care Centre in your country.

Problem Cause Solution

connected is not live.

Make sure the socket is live.

Perhaps the

appliance overheated

and switched itself off.

Unplug the appliance and let it

cool down for a few minutes.

connected.
