Important

Read these instructions for use carefully before using the appliance and save them for future

reference.

◗Only use Philips s-bag`double-layer paper dustbags or the cotton dustbag provided.

◗Never suck up water or any other liquid. Never suck up ashes until they are cold.

◗When the vacuum cleaner is used to suck up fine dust, the pores of the dustbag may become

clogged, causing the passage of air through the dustbag to become obstructed.As a result, the

'dustbag full' indicator will indicate that the dustbag needs to be replaced, even though the

dustbag is not full at all.

◗Never use the appliance without the Motor Protection Filter.This could damage the motor

and shorten the life of the appliance.

◗If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it may only be replaced by Philips or a service

centre authorised by Philips in order to avoid hazardous situations.

Connecting accessories

Hose

1To connect the hose, push it into the appliance and turn it clockwise (fig. 1).

To disconnect the hose, turn it anticlockwise and pull it out of the appliance.

2Connect the tubes to each other and to the handgrip by inserting the narrow section into

the wider section while turning it a little.The tube with the clip is the lower tube (fig. 2).

You can connect the accessories in the same way.

Disconnect the accessories and tubes by pulling them and turning them a little.

Telescopic tube (specific types only)

1Adjust the tube to the length you find most comfortable during vacuum cleaning (fig. 3).

Combi nozzle

The combi nozzle can be used on either carpets (with the brush strips folded in) or hard floors

(with the brush strips folded out):

1Push the rocker switch on top of the combi nozzle with your foot to make the brush strip

for cleaning hard floors come out of the nozzle housing (fig. 4).

2Push the rocker switch on the other side to make the brush strip disappear into the housing

(fig. 5).

Crevice nozzle

1The crevice nozzle can be found in the special storage compartment (fig. 6).

Using the appliance

Adjusting the suction power

1You can adjust the suction power by means of the slide on the handgrip (specific types only)

(fig. 7).

2You can adjust the suction power by means of the electronic suction power control (specific

types only) (fig. 8).

Carrying the appliance

1To carry the appliance, put the handle in upright position (fig. 9).

Storage

1Put the appliance in upright position and attach the lower tube to the appliance by means of

the clip (fig. 10).

The clip can be slid along the tube to adjust its height.

Replacing the dustbag

◗Replace the dustbag as soon as the 'dustbag full' indicator has changed colour permanently.

1Switch the appliance off and open the cover (fig. 11).

2Push the dustbag holder backwards (fig. 12).

3Lift the dustbag out of the compartment by pulling the cardboard lug upwards.This causes

the dustbag to become sealed (fig. 13).

4Slide the cardboard front of the new dustbag into the two grooves of the dustbag holder.

Press it down as far as possible (fig. 14).

5Pull the dustbag holder forwards until you hear a click.You cannot close the cover if no

dustbag has been inserted (fig. 15).

Philips s-bag`paper dustbags are available under type number FC8021 (883802101010).

◗If provided, you can use the cotton dustbag instead of paper dustbags.

The cotton dustbag can be used and emptied repeatedly.

For removing and inserting the cotton dustbag, simply follow the instructions for replacing paper

dustbags.

To empty the cotton dustbag:

1Remove the clip by sliding it off the dustbag sideways.

2Undo the metal hooks.

3Shake out the contents.

4Close the dustbag by fastening the metal hooks and sliding the clip back onto the bottom

edge of the dustbag.

Philips cotton dustbags are available under type number FC8020 (432200493291).

Filter replacement

AFS Micro Filter

Replace the AFS Micro Filter every 6 months.

The AFS Micro Filter will remove a large part of the smallest particles from the exhaust air.

1Detach the filter holder and remove the filter (fig. 16).

2Place the sides (1, 2) and the bottom edge (3) of the new filter properly behind the ridges of

the holder (fig. 17).

3Put the holder back into the vacuum cleaner by first hooking the bottom edge of the holder

into the appliance (1) and then pushing the holder towards the appliance (2) until it snaps

home (fig. 18).

Make sure the filter holder has been placed properly.

Motor Protection Filter

Replace the Motor Protection Filter once a year.

If you are using the cotton dustbag, wash the Motor Protection Filter in lukewarm water once a

year.

Make sure the Motor Protection Filter is completely dry before you put it back into the appliance.

1Switch the appliance off and open the cover.Take out the filter holder and remove the filter

(fig. 19).

2Insert a new filter into the holder with the white side facing upwards and put the holder

back into the appliance.

Two AFS Micro Filters and one Motor Protection Filter are available under type number FC8032

(883803201010).

Environment

To make recycling possible, the plastics used for this appliance have been coded.

The cardboard packaging has been made of recycled material and is fully recyclable.

Insufficient suction power

1Check if the dustbag needs to be replaced.

2Check if the filters need to be replaced.

3Check if the slide on the handgrip is closed.

4Check if the electronic suction power control is in maximum position (specific types only).

5Check if the nozzle, tube or hose is blocked up.To remove the obstruction, disconnect the

blocked-up item and connect it (as far as possible) the other way around. Switch the vacuum

cleaner on to force the air through the blocked-up item in opposite direction (fig. 20).

Importante

◗Utilice sólo bolsas de Philips s-bag`de papel con doble capa o la bolsa de algodón que viene

incluida.

◗No aspire nunca agua o cualquier otro líquido. No aspire nunca cenizas hasta que esten frías.

◗Cuando el aspirador se usa para aspirar polvo fino, los poros de la bolsa para el polvo

pueden obturarse, dando lugar a que se obstruya el paso del aire a través de la bolsa para el

polvo. Como resultado de ello, el indicador "Bolsa llena" indicará que la bolsa necesita ser

cambiada incluso cuando la bolsa para el polvo no esté completamente llena.

◗No use nunca el aparato sin el filtro protector del motor, ya que esto podría deteriorar el

motor y acortar la vida útil del aparato.

◗Si el cable de red de este aparato se deteriora, sólo puede ser sustituido por Philips o por

uno de los Servicios de Asistencia Técnica de Philips ya que la reparación requiere piezas y/o

herramientas especiales.

Cómo conectar los accesorios

1Para conectar la manguera, introdúzcala en el aparato y gírela en el sentido de las agujas del

reloj (fig. 1).

Para desconectar la manguera, gírela en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj y sáquela del aparato.

2Conecte los tubos entre sí y al mango, introduciendo la zona más estrecha en la más ancha y

girando un poquito. El tubo con la brida es el tubo inferior (fig. 2).

Puede montar el resto de los accesorios del mismo modo.

Para quitar los accesorios y los tubos, tire de ellos y gírelos ligeramente.

3Tubo telescópico (sólo modelos específicos) (fig. 3):

Ajuste el tubo a la longitud que considere más cómoda mientras aspira.

4La boquilla combinada se puede utilizar tanto sobre alfombras (sin cepillo) como en suelos

duros (con cepillo):

◗Presione con el pie el conmutador de la parte superior de la boquilla combinada de forma

que la tira del cepillo para limpiar suelos duros salga de la carcasa de la boquilla (fig. 4).

Presione el conmutador del otro lado para que la tira del cepillo se introduzca en la carcasa

(fig. 5).

5Podrá encontrar la boquilla para esquinas en el compartimento especial de accesorios (fig. 6).

6Para mover el aparato, coloque el mango en posición vertical (fig. 7).

7Podrá ajustar la potencia de succión utilizando la corredera del mango (sólo para modelos

específicos) (fig. 8).

8Podrá ajustar la potencia de succión utilizando el control electrónico de potencia de succión

(sólo para modelos específicos) (fig. 9).

Almacenaje

1Coloque el aparato en posición vertical e introduzca el tubo inferior utilizando la brida (fig.

10).

La brida se puede deslizar a lo largo del tubo para regular la altura.

Cómo sustituir la bolsa para el polvo

◗Cambie la bolsa en cuanto el indicador de llenado de bolsa haya cambiado de color

permanentemente.

1Apague el aparato y abra la tapa (fig. 11).

2Presione el soporte de la bolsa hacia atrás (fig. 12).

3Saque la bolsa del compartimento tirando hacia arriba del asa de cartón, la cual sella la bolsa

(fig. 13).

4Deslice el frontal de cartón de la nueva bolsa en las dos ranuras del soporte. Presione hacia

abajo todo lo que pueda (fig. 14).

5Tire del soporte de la bolsa hacia delante (oirá un "clic"). Si no se ha introducido una bolsa,

no se podrá cerrar la cubierta (fig. 15).

Las bolsas de papel s-bag`de Philips se pueden encontrar con el número de modelo FC8021

(883802101010).

◗En caso de que se suministre, puede utilizar la bolsa de algodón en lugar de la de papel.

La bolsa para el polvo de algodón se puede utilizar varias veces.

Para quitar e introducir la bolsa de algodón, sólo tiene que seguir las mismas instrucciones que para

cambiar las bolsas de papel.

Para vaciar la bolsa para el polvo de algodón:

1Retire la brida deslizándola lateralmente fuera de la bolsa.

2Desmonte los ganchos metálicos.

3Sacuda el contenido.

4Cierre la bolsa fijando los ganchos metálicos y volviendo a deslizar la brida sobre el borde

inferior de la bolsa.

Las bolsas de algodón de Philips están disponibles con el número de modelo FC8020

(432200493291).

Sustitución del filtro

Micro filtro AFS

Cambie el filtro AFS cada 6 meses.

El filtro AFS elimina gran parte de las pequeñas partículas del flujo de aire de salida.

1Abra el compartimento y retire el filtro (fig. 16).

2Coloque correctamente los laterales (1, 2) y la parte inferior(3) del nuevo filtro por detrás

de los salientes del soporte (fig. 17).

3Vuelva a situar el soporte en el aspirador enganchando primero la parte inferior del soporte

en el aparato (1) e introduciéndolo después (2) hasta que encaje (fig. 18).

Asegúrese de que el soporte del filtro está bien colocado.

Filtro protector del motor

Cambie el filtro protector del motor una vez al año.

Si utiliza la bolsa de algodón, lave el filtro protector del motor en agua tibia una vez al año.

Asegúrese de que el filtro protector del motor esté completamente seco antes de volverlo a

montar en el aparato.

1Apague el aparato y abra la tapa. Saque el soporte y retire el filtro (fig. 19).

2Introduzca un filtro nuevo en el soporte con el lado blanco hacia arriba y vuelva a colocar el

soporte.

Con el número de modelo FC8032 (883803201010) podrá encontrar dos filtros AFS y un filtro

protector del motor.
