warrantysection.Donotattempttorepairtheunitorreplaceparts.Unauthorized
repairs will void your warranty.
• Nolubricationisrecommendedorrequired.
• Avoidstoringindirectsunlight,inextremeheatorcold,orverymoistareas.
• Wearrubberglovesandprotectiveclothingwhenworkingaroundleadacidbatteries.
• Donotsmoke.Donotallowanyopenameorsparksnearaleadacidbattery.
• Removerings,bracelets,necklaces,watchesandotherpersonalmetalitems.Alead
acid battery can produce short circuit current strong enough to weld metal items and
cause severe burns.
• Becarefulwithtoolsaroundleadacidbatteries;donotdroptoolsonbattery—sparks
andexplosioncouldresult.
• Ifbatteryacidcontactsyourskinorclothing,washwithsoapandwater.Ifacidenters
youreye,immediatelyoodtheeyewithcoldrunningwaterfor10minutesandseek
medical attention.
• Ifbatteryacidisswallowed,drinkmilk,eggwhitesorwaterandDONOTinduce
vomiting.Getimmediatemedicalattention.
• Whenworkingunderthehood,becarefulofmovingfanblades,belts,pulleysand
other moving parts that may cause injury.

TheRescue2100isacommercialgradeportablepowerpackcapableofdelivering
signicantcurrenttoprovidejumpstartingpowerforcars,trucksandcommercialequip-
ment.TheRescue2100providesswitchable12Vand24Vpower.ItfeaturesSmartPolarity
andSmartVoltageprotection.Thesefeaturespreventthepowerpackfromconnectingto
systems when polarity connections are incorrect or when the voltage of the system does
not match the unit’s settings.

1. Determinethevoltagerequirementforthedevicetobepowered.Select12Vor24Von
the back of the power pack.
2. Connect the red (positive +) clamp to the positive input terminal and the black
(negative –) clamp to the negative input terminal.
3. VerifythattheLowVoltage/SmartPolarityOfflightisilluminated.
4. PressandholdtheStartbuttonfor4seconds.Thebatterymeterdisplaywillshow
a countdown.
5. VerifythePowerlightison.Thepowerpackisnowsupplyingcurrenttoyourdevice.
6. Turn the unit off by turning the switch on the back of the power pack off, and then
disconnect the clamps.
7. Rechargepowerpackafteruse.
Beforeusingyourportablepowerpack,youshouldfullychargeit.Note:TheRescue2100
willrechargeonlywhenthevoltageselectorisinthe12Vposition.Thebatterydisplaymeter
willshowwhentheunitischargingandwhenitisfullycharged.Youcanchecktheactual
batteryvoltageanytimebypressingtheinternalbatteryvoltagebutton.Rechargeevery30
daysoranytimetheinternalbatteryvoltagefallsbelow11.5V.Fluctuationsintemperature
can accelerate battery discharge. Check your unit often. Charge using the supplied built-in
A/CchargerorusetheRescue604095in-cabchargingcord.
1. Determinetherequiredbatteryvoltageofthevehicletobejumpstarted,andsetthe
switchonthebackofthepowerpacktothecorrectvoltage.Verifythatthecorrect
voltage light is illuminated on the front panel of the power pack.
2. Checkvehiclebatteryterminalsbeforeusingthepowerpack;cleanthemifnecessary.
3. Connect the red (positive +) clamp to the positive terminal or post on the discharged
battery.
4. Connect the black (negative –) clamp to a ground away from the battery, such as an
alternator bracket.
• Note:Somevehiclesareequippedwithpositiveandnegativestartterminalsaway
fromthebattery.Usetheseterminalswhenavailable.
5. VerifythegreenSmartPolaritylightison.Ifitis,pressStart.Ifitisnot,refertothe
troubleshooting section.
6. VerifythePowerlightison.Theunitisnowsupplyingjumpstartingpowertoyour
vehicle.
7. Starttheengine.Afterapproximately6secondsofcontinuouscranking,ifthedisabled
vehicle fails to start, stop and wait for 2 minutes. This prevents damage to your power
pack and to your vehicle’s system from overheating.
8. Turn off the power switch on the back of the power pack and disconnect the clamps,
rstnegativeandthenpositive.Storeclampsproperlyonunit.
9. Rechargepowerpackafteruse.
• IftheRescue2100isnotfullychargeditmayshutdownunderheavyloadifitcannot
deliversufcientvoltage.
• Failuretokeepinternalbatterychargedwillleadtopermanentbatterydamage.

To Jump Start a Vehicle or Machine:

Thedigitaldisplaywillshowtheexternalbatteryvoltagewhenthepowerpackisconnected.
If the polarity is incorrect on the battery connection, there will be no display. Pressing the
internalbatteryvoltagebuttonwilldisplaytheinternalvoltageexpressedeitheras12Vor
24Vdependingontheswitchsettingonthebackofthepowerpack.Whenthepowerpack
is being recharged, the meter will show charging with the letters CH and animation speed
dependingontheamountofcurrentow.Whentheunitisfullycharged,thedisplaywill
readFUL.
TheyellowLowVoltageLEDindicatorlightwillilluminatewhenevertheRescue2100is
turnedonandtheexternalvoltageattheclampsislow,ortheyarenotconnected.Thisis
normal.SeethesectiononusingtheRescue2100asa12Vor24Vpowersource.
ThevoltageindicatingLEDlightswillindicateinternallowbatteryvoltagebyashing.The
moredischargedtheinternalbatterybecomes,thefasterthelightwillash.Presstheinter-
nalbatteryvoltagebuttontoseetheexactinternalbatterystatus.
The12Vauxiliaryoutletisprotectedbya15ampcircuitbreaker,whichresetsautomatically.

Troubleshooting
Problem: Rescue 2100 turns off under load.
• Theinternalbatterymaybelow.
•Checktheinternalbatteryvoltageandrechargeasneeded.
• Extremelyhighcurrentdrawispresent.Thismaybebecausethereisashortcircuit
in the system to be jump started.
•Check the system for short circuits.
• TheloadrequiredmayexceedthecapacityoftheRescue2100.Verylargebatteriesor
battery banks may require recharging, not jump start assistance.
Problem: Green power light fails to light when the start button is pressed.
Unit is sounding a tone.
• Checkthereversepolaritylight.Ifitisilluminated,reversetheclampconnections.
• Checkthevoltageerrorlight.Ifitisilluminated,selectthecorrectbatteryvoltage.
• Theinternalbatteryvoltageisbelow8.5V.Checktheinternalbatteryvoltage,and
recharge the unit.
Problem: The Rescue 2100 will not recharge.
• Ifnotoneissounding,checkthepowercordforsecureconnection,andverifythatthe
wall power outlet is live.
• Iftoneissounding,turnthevoltageselectorto12V.
Problem: The low voltage light is lit and the unit will not engage.
• Thiscanhappenifthebatteryontheunittobestartedisseverelydischarged.
1.VerifythatthepropervoltagehasbeenselectedontheRescue2100.
2.Verifythattheclampsareconnectedcorrectly,positivetopositiveandnegative
to ground.
3.PressandholdtheStartbuttonfor4seconds.
4.VerifythegreenPowerlightison.Theunitisnowconnected.
Polarity and voltage protection features
are not available in this mode.
