Intended use
The flame detector is mounted onto the flame detector
base FDFB291 (Fig. 1).
Mounting
The detector base must be positioned in accordance with
the projecting details.
Various accessories are available to simplify base
installation:
Mounting bracket MV1 (Fig. 2): For fixing flame
detector at 45°
Ball and socket joint MWV1 (Fig. 3): For accurately
aligning the flame detector to an area
Rain hood DFZ1190 (Fig. 4): For protecting the flame
detector during outdoor applications
WARNING
Danger of falling
Bodily injury
When installing, use a secured ladder or work
platform.
1. If necessary, fit the mounting bracket, ball and socket
joint or rain hood according to local conditions.
2. Break open the plastic parts in the base at the
openings you require for cable entry.
3. If necessary screw the M20 x 1.5 metal cable gland
into the openings.
4. Use four screws to fit the base on the mounting
bracket, ball and socket joint, rain hood or directly on a
stable, vibration-free surface.
Electric connection
CAUTION
Using the device in a damp and/or corrosive
environment
Device function is impaired.
Use the M20 x 1.5 metal cable gland in damp
and/or corrosive environments.
Note the positive and negative poles.
Only connect one wire per terminal.
Wherever possible use twisted, unshielded cables.
Shielded cables are only required in special cases,
such as strong high-frequency fields. This also applies
to connecting the external alarm indicators.
General procedure
1. Guide the cables from the detector line and external
alarm indicator into the base.
2. Connect the wires as shown in the corresponding
connection diagram. Use a screwdriver to remove the
load from the spring clip so you can slide in the wire.
Connection to a FDnet/C-NET detector line
Loops, stubs and T-branches are possible.
Note document 001508 for installation (calculation of
the capacity layer).
You may only connect external alarm indicators to one
detector.
Permissible cables for detectors with more than one
external alarm indicator according to the collective
