Read all instructions before using these tools!

1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.

2. Observe work area conditions. Do not use machines or power tools in

damp or wet locations. Don’t expose to rain. Keep work area well lit. Do not

use electrically powered tools in the presence of flammable gases or liquids.

3. Keep children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do

not let them handle machines, tools, or extension cords.

4. Store idle equipment. When not in use, tools must be stored in a dry

location to inhibit rust. Always lock up tools and keep out of reach of children.

5. Use the right tool for the job.Do not attempt to force a small tool or

attachment to do the work of a larger industrial tool. There are certain

applications for which this tool was designed. It will do the job better

and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. Do not modify this

tool and do not use this tool for a purpose for which it was not intended.

6. Dress properly while working. Protect your skin from accidental abrasion

burnsbywearing tough long sleeves and safety gloves. Donotwearloose

clothing or jewelry as they can be caught in moving parts. Protective,

electricallynon-conductive clothes andnon-skidfootwearare recommended

whenworking. Wearrestrictivehair covering to contain long hair.

7. Use eye and ear protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety

gogglesandfullface shield when using this tool. WearanANSIapproveddust

maskorrespiratorwhenworkingaroundmetal,wood,andchemicaldustsandmists.

8. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Do not

reachoveror across running machines.

9. Maintain tools with care. Keep tools clean and in good condition for better

andsafer performance. Follow instructionsforlubricatingand changing

accessories.Inspecttoolfittingsandhosesperiodicallyand,ifdamaged,have

them repaired by an authorized technician. The handles must be kept clean,

dry, and free from oil and grease at all times.

10. Disconnect power.Disconnect from air pressure source when not in use.

11. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches. Check that keys and adjusting

wrenchesareremovedfromthetoolormachineworksurfacebeforeconnectingit.

12. Avoid unintentional starting. Be sure the throttle lever is in the Off position

when not in use and before attaching to pressure source. Do not carry any

tool with your hand on the throttle lever, whether it is attached or not.

Disconnect the air hose from the tool when not in use.

13. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate

any tool when you are tired.

14. Check for damaged parts. Before using any tool, any part that appears

damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate

properly and perform its intended function.Check for alignment and binding

of moving parts; any broken parts or mounting fixtures; and any other

condition that may affect proper operation.Any part that is damaged should

be properly repaired or replaced by a qualified technician.Do not use the tool

ifthethrottleleverdoes not function properly.

15. Guard against electric shock when working on electrical equipment,

such as your air compressor.Prevent body contact with grounded surfaces

suchaspipes,radiators,ranges,and refrigerator enclosures.

16. Replacement parts and accessories. Whenservicing, use onlyidentical

replacement parts.Use of any other parts will void the warranty. Only use

accessoriesintendedforusewith this tool. Approved accessories are

availablefromHarborFreightTools.

17. Do not operate tool if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read

warninglabelsonprescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are

impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the tool.

18. Use proper size and type air pressure line and fittings. The recommended

airlineshoulddelivernomorethan90psi.

Recommended air inlet size is 1/4”- 18 NPT, using a 3/8” air hose.

19. Maintenance. For your safety, service and maintenance should be performed

regularlybyaqualified technician.

20. You should maintain a proper regulator and moisture trap in your air

line at all times.

21. Do not increase the air pressure to the tool beyond 90 PSI. This may

damagethe tool, or cause personal injury.

WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding,sawing,grinding,drilling,

and other construction activities, contain chemicals known [to the State of

California] to cause cancer,birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some

examples of these chemicals are:

* Lead from lead-based paints

* Crystalline silica from bricks and cement or other masonry products

* Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber

Operation

1. Install one of the Standard 1/4” Male Fittings to the Air Inlet of each tool. First

wrapthethreadedportion of the Fitting with pipe thread seal tape before

threading it into the Air Inlet.Tighten securely.

2. Attach a standard quick connector (not included) to your air pressure source

hose.Then attach the air hose to theTool.

NOTE: If you are not using an automatic in-line oiler, add a few drops of pneumatic

oil to the Air Inlet before attaching the air hose. Add a few more drops of oil

afterevery hour of continualuse.

3. Set the air pressure regulator at 90 psi.

WARNING:DO NOT INCREASETHE AIR PRESSURE to the tool beyond 90

PSI.This may damage the tool, or cause personal injury.

4. Check the air line and its connections for air leaks. Make note of these, and

repairthembeforeusingthistool.

CAUTION: Turnoffyour air compressor and disconnect theairpressurehose

beforechangingattachmentsormakinganyadjustmentstothesetools. Severe

injuryorpropertydamagemay otherwise result.

1/2” Air Impact Wrench

OPERATION

NOTE: Part numbers in this section refer to the Parts List on page 8, and Assembly

Drawing on page 9.

Your Impact Wrench

features an Air Regulator (37),

allowingyou to varytheamount of

torque exerted on the nut or bolt

you are working on. Setting “1” is

the lowest setting, and is

recommendedforsmallernutsand

bolts. Setting “4” is the highest

setting and provides the most

torqueand speed.

Loosening

1. Attach the correct size socket to the Anvil (8).

2. Set the compressor’s pressure regulator to 90 PSI. Do not set the outlet

regulatorof the compressor above90PSI.

3. Connect the Impact Wrench to the air compressor’s hose. If leaking is

detected,disconnecttheairhoseandrepairbefore use.

4. Place the socket over the nut to loosen.

5. Pressthe ReverseValve (44) in from the area above theTrigger (29) so that

the ReverseValve protrudes out the back of the Housing.Grip the Impact

Wrench firmly. Press the Trigger to start the Impact Wrench.

Caution: Before starting work, check the rating of the nut or bolt to be sure

it can withstand the working torque of the Impact Wrench.

6. If the Impact Wrench cannot loosen the nut, DO NOT raise the outlet pressure

oftheaircompressor.

7. If the Impact Wrench’s Air Regulator is set on a low setting, you may raise the

setting and try again. If the Impact Wrench’s Air Regulator is already set on

the “4” setting, do not continue attempts to loosen the nut with the Impact

Wrench. Use other appropriate tools and methods to loosen the nut.

8. Whenthenutisremoved,stoptheImpactWrenchbyreleasingtheTriggerand

removetheImpactWrenchfromthenut. Removethenutfromthesocketifneeded.

Tightening

The working torque of the Impact Wrench is 230 foot/lbs. Make sure the nut or

bolt you are using the Impact Wrench to tighten can withstand the rated torque.

1. Tighten the nut on as far as you can by hand.

2. Pressthe ReverseValve forward so it protrudes out the front of the Housing.

Place the socket on the nut. Press the Trigger to start the Impact Wrench.

3. If the Impact Wrench stalls while tightening, DO NOT raise the outlet pressure

oftheair compressor above 90 PSI.

4. If the Impact Wrench’s Air Regulator is set on a low setting, it may be raised

before you try again. If the nut will not tighten at the maximum setting, do not

continue attempts to tighten the nut. Use other appropriate tools and

methods to tighten the nut.

5. When the nut has been tightened, remove the Impact Wrench and socket. Do

notovertighten.

6. If available, check the recommended torque specifications for the nut. You

should use a torque wrench to torque the nut after using the Impact Wrench.

3/8” Reversible Air Drill

OPERATION

NOTE: Part numbers in this section refer to the Parts List on page 11 and the

Assembly Drawing on page 12.

1. Settheairpressureregulatorat

90 psi.

WARNING: Do not exceed the

recommended pressure of 90 psi.

Damage to your tool, and possible

personal injury may result.

2. Check the air line and its

connections for air leaks. Make

note of these, and repair them before using this tool.

NOTE: Turnoffyour air compressor and disconnecttheairpressure hose before

changing bits or making any adjustments to this tool. Severe injury or property

damagemayotherwise result.

WARNING:Thistoolgeneratesconsiderable

torque when in use. Always hold the tool with

bothhandswhenusing,andbraceyourselfto

resistthe torquewhichwill bedeliveredto the

workpiece.

3.Select the appropriate sizedrillbit(not

included)foryourneeds.TheChuckmaybe

openedand closed using theChuckKey (see

photo).TurntheChuckKeycounterclockwise

to open, and clockwise to close the Chuck.

4.Insert the base of the drill bit into the

Chuck (16a). With the bit in place, tighten

the Chuck with the Chuck Key until the bit is securely held.

5. Move the Direction Switch (30a) to the LEFT to drill clockwise, move the

DirectionSwitch(30a)totheRIGHTtodrillcounterclockwise.NOTE: Inmost

cases, drill bits are designed to bore into the work material turning clockwise,

andtoreverseoutoftheworkmaterialbyturning counterclockwise.

6. Place the point of the drill bit at the spot you wish to drill. When it is safe to do

so, squeeze the Trigger (24a). The Drill will begin to operate, and the drill bit

will begin to drill into the work material. Drill until you have reached the desired

depth.ReleasetheTrigger (24a) to cease operation of the drill.
