• The infrared heater must be placed at least 1.5 m away from awall or combustible
material.
• Place theinfrared heater on ahorizontal, level surface.
• The infrared heater becomes very hot during use and will remain so for awhile,
even after being switched off. Theinfrared heater should therefore never be
touched until it has cooled sufficiently.
• The infrared heater should be treated with care; it should not be subjected to
impacts and vibrations.
• The infrared heater must only be connected to anearthed electrical socket.
• If theinfrared heater is damaged it should be replaced by aqualified service
technician.
• If themains lead is damaged it must only be replaced by themanufacturer, retailer
or other qualified service technician.
• The infrared heater may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capability, lack of experience or knowledge which could jeopardise their
safety, provided they have been instructed in thesafe use of theproduct and
understand thehazards involved.
• The infrared heater is only intended for domestic use. Itmust not be used on
building sites, in greenhouses, barns or stables containing combustible dust.
• The heater will become very hot during and after use. Pullout theplug and let
theinfrared heater cool before cleaning.
• The infrared heater should be plugged into anelectrical socket which is visible and
easy to access.
• Always unplug theheater when it is not inuse.
• The heater is only designed for normal indoor use (IP24) and must not be used
outdoors.
• Never turn theheater off by pulling out its plug. Alwaysturn theheater off by set-
ting theon/off switch to theoff position.
• Make sure that no foreign objects get inside theinfrared heater since this may
cause short circuiting, electric shock, or afire hazard.
• Never position theinfrared heater so that themains lead is in front of or touching
theheating element.
Warning
The infrared heater is not equipped with athermostat which can be set to thedesired
temperature of aroom. Itshould therefore not be used in small rooms occupied by
people incapable of leaving therooms unaided; otherwise theheater should be under
constant supervision.
Tip-over switch
The infrared heater has asafety mechanism to reduce therisk of fires; abuilt-in tip-
over switch which switches theinfrared heater off if it leans or falls over. Thetip-over
switch contains moving parts and if theinfrared heater is inclined or moved it could
sound like something is loose or broken, but this is completely normal.
