2. SwitchthemeterONbypressingandholdingthe button.Themeteremitsaudibletones
andthedisplayswitchesonwhenthemeterpowersup.Ifthemeterdoesnotswitchon
pleasecheckthebatteryintherearcompartment.
3. MomentarypressesoftheMaterialSelectbutton togglestheWood andBuilding
Materialmodesofoperation.Thedisplayediconsindicatetheselectedmode.
4. Pushtheelectrodepinsintothematerialundertest.
5. Observethedisplayedreadinginpercent(%),viewthedisplayedmoisturedropleticon
andlistenfortheaudibletones.

CAUTION:Theelectrodemeasurementpinsareextremelysharp.Usecarewhen
handlingthisinstrument.Coverthepinswiththeprotectivecapwhentheinstrument
isnotinuse.

thecontactsonthetopoftheProtective/Testcap.

Building: 15.5to17.5%
Ifthemeterreadsoutsideofthesemeasurementsreplacethebatteries.Ifitstillreadsoutside
ofthesemeasurements,themeterisdefectiveandyoushouldcontactExtech.
Maintenance
BatteryReplacement
Whenthebatterystatusiconappearsemptyorflashing,replacethebattery.
1. Removetherearbatterycompartmentcoverbypushingthecompartmentlatch.
2. Replacethe9Vbatteryobservingcorrectpolarity.
3. Replacethecompartmentdoorsecurely.
4. Disposeofbatteryresponsiblyandwithinapplicablelegalregulations.
Neverdisposeofusedbatteriesorrechargeablebatteriesinhouseholdwaste.
Asconsumers,usersarelegallyrequiredtotakeusedbatteriestoappropriate
collectionsites,theretailstorewherethebatterieswerepurchased,or
