1 Safety Guidelines

applications detailed in these installation instructions.

Any other use will not be considered to comply with

requirements and would invalidate the warranty.

4. Please take note that any assembly, commissioning,

servicing and adjustment work may only be carried out

by authorized persons.

5. Immediately rectify any malfunctions which may

influence safety.

2 Description of Function

BFW type backflow preventers are divided into 2 pressure

zones. The pressure in zone is higher than in zone . A

discharge valve positioned in zone opens when the

differential pressure between zones and has dropped

to 0.14 bar at the very latest. The water from zone is

discharged into the athmosphere, the check valve closes,

separating zone from zone .

In this way the danger of back pressure or back-siphonage

into the supply network is prevented. The water supply is

interrupted, and the drinking water network protected.

3 Technical Data

Note: The mobile backflow preventer BFW112 in accordance

with DIN 14346 is connected to existing standpipes or

pillar hydrants to take water for fire fighting from the

pipeline network. It prevents water from flowing back into

the drinking water supply network as a result of back

siphonage or back pressure, if the pressure in this

network is lower than that in the pipeline laid for

firefighting purposes.

In addition, pressure surges do not occur in the network,

which helps to prevent burst pipes.

6 Assembly

6.1 Installation Guidelines

• Note flow direction

• Use both handles when assembling on hydrant /

standpipe

• Ensure that parts are free of dirt

• Store in a clean and dry place

• These armatures need to be maintained regularly

6.2 Assembly instructions

1. Thoroughly flush hydrant / standpipe

2. Check that backflow preventer connections are clean

3. Assemble backflow preventer

Position backflow preventer and, using both handles, rotate it

and the counter coupling on the hydrant/standpipe to connect

7 Maintenance

7.1 Inspection

The backflow preventer must undergo regular visual

inspections every 3 months at the latest. The following must

be checked:

• State of the coupling

• Dirt accumulation

– Stone trap

– Dust and fall protection

– Drainage holes

– Interior workings

If dirt has accumulated, clean with clear water without the

addition of detergents.

If any parts are damaged carry out a maintenance.

7.2 Maintenance

Interval: every 12 months

Test set-up

Mount the backflow preventer in the testing equipment. Open all the valves, to bleed the system. Close valve 3. Check that the

backflow preventer is sealed.

7.2.1 Inspection of check valve on input

side

1. Close valve 2

2. Wait 10 seconds and observe the differential pressure.

If it is constant, the check valve is airtight. Make a note

of the differential pressure

If the differential pressure = 0, the seal on the input side is

damaged or soiled. Follow the instructions in 7.2.3.

7.2.2 Inspection of discharge valve

1. Close valve 2

2. Close valve 1

3. Slowly open valve 3 and observe the differential

pressure. The discharge valve must respond (begin to

drop) before the differential pressure exceeds 0.14 bar.

Make a note of the differential pressure at which the

discharge valve responds (drops).

If the differential pressure is <0.14 bar at the response

moment, follow the instructions in 7.2.3.

7.2.3 Maintenance

Note: For exploded drawing see chapter 11

1. Fix the backflow preventer on the key area of the

housing and open the cover on the output side with the

help of a tape puller

2. Remove the springs and piston

3. Clean all interior parts and the running surface with

clear water and check that they are in good condition.

4. If necessary, exchange all seals and pistons. When

dismantling, ensure that the sealing faces in the base of

the groove are not damaged.

5. Lightly grease the seals.

6. Reassemble in reverse order.

7. Carry out points 7.2.1 and 7.2.2 for inspection.

8Cleaning

If necessary, clean the backflow preventer with clear water!

Do not use any chemicals or similar!

2 Funktionsbeschreibung

Systemtrenner vom Typ BFW sind in 2 Druckzonen unterteilt.

In Zone ist der Druck höher als in Zone . In Zone ist

ein Ablassventil platziert, welches spätestens dann öffnet,

wenn der Differenzdruck zwischen Zone und auf

0,14 bar abgesunken ist. Das Wasser aus Zone strömt ins

Freie, der Rückflussverhinderer schließt und trennt somit

Zone von Zone .

Damit ist die Gefahr eines Rückdrückens oder Rücksaugens

in das Versorgungsnetz ausgeschlossen. Die Leitung ist

unterbrochen und das Trinkwassernetz gesichert.

3 Technische Daten

Hinweis: Der mobile Systemtrenner BFW112 nach DIN14346 wird

an bestehende Standrohre oder Überflurhydranten zur

Entnahme von Löschwasser aus dem Rohrnetz

angeschlossen. Er verhindert, dass durch Rücksaugen

oder Rückdrücken Wasser in das

Trinkwasserversorgungsnetz zurückfließt, wenn der

Druck in diesem Netz niedriger ist als in der verlegten

Löschwasserleitung.

Weiterhin gelangen Druckstöße nicht ins Netz, wodurch

Rohrbrüche vermieden werden

6.1 Einbauhinweise

6.2 Montageanleitung

1. Standrohr/Hydrant gut durchspülen

2. Anschlüsse am Systemtrenner auf Sauberkeit prüfen

3. Systemtrenner montieren

Systemtrenner ansetzen und mit beiden Griffen durch drehen

mit Gegenkupplung am Hydrant / Standrohr verbinden

Durchflussrichtung beachten (Pfeilrichtung)

7 Instandhaltung

7.1 Inspektion

Der Systemtrenner ist alle 3 Monate einer regelmäßigen

Sichtprüfung zu unterziehen. Zu prüfen sind:

• Zustand der Kupplungen

• Verschmutzung

– Steinfänger

– Schmutz- und Fallschutz

– Ablassbohrungen

– Innenleben

Bei Verschmutzung ist eine Reinigung mit klarem Wasser

ohne Zusatz von Reinigungsmitteln durchzuführen.

Bei beschädigten Teilen Instandsetzung durchführen.

7.2 Instandsetzung

Intervall: alle 12 Monate

Instandsetzungsprotokoll siehe Kapitel 13

Testaufbau:

Montieren Sie den Systemtrenner in der Prüfvorrichtung. Öffnen Sie alle Ventile, um die Leitungen zu entlüften. Schließen Sie

Ventil 3. Überprüfen Sie den Systemtrenner auf Dichtheit.

7.2.1 Überprüfung Rückfluss-

verhinderer eingangsseitig

1. Ventil 2 schließen

2. Warten Sie 10s und beobachten den Differenzdruck. Ist

dieser konstant, ist der Rückflussverhinderer dicht.

Notieren Sie den Differenzdruck.

Ist der Differenzdruck = 0, ist die eingangsseitige Dichtung

beschädigt oder verschmutzt. Folgen Sie den Anweisungen

in 7.2.3.

7.2.2 Überprüfung Ablassventil

1. Ventil 2 schließen

2. Ventil 1 schließen

3. Öffnen Sie Ventil 3 langsam und beobachten Sie den

Differenzdruck. Das Ablassventil muss ansprechen

(anfangen zu Tropfen), bevor der Differenzdruck

0,14 bar unterschreitet. Notieren Sie den

Differenzdruck, bei dem das Ablassventil anspricht

(tropft).

Ist der Differenzdruck im Moment des Ansprechens

<0,14 bar, folgen Sie den Anweisungen in 7.2.3.

7.2.3 Instandsetzung

Hinweis: Explosionszeichnung siehe Kapitel 11

1. Fixieren Sie den Systemtrenner an der Schlüsselfläche

des Gehäuses und öffnen den ausgangsseitigen

Deckel mit Hilfe eines Bandabziehers.

2. Entnehmen Sie Feder und Kolben

3. Reinigen Sie alle Innenteile und die Lauffläche mit

klarem Wasser und überprüfen den ordnungsgemäßen

Zustand.

4. Tauschen Sie bei Bedarf alle Dichtungen am Kolben

Achten Sie bei der Demontage darauf, dass die

Dichtflächen im Nutgrund nicht beschädigt werden!

5. Dichtungen leicht fetten.

6. Montage in umgekehrter Reihenfolge.

7. Punkt 7.2.1 und 7.2.2 zur Überprüfung durchführen

8 Reinigung

Reinigen Sie den Systemtrenner bei Bedarf mit klarem

Wasser!

Keine Chemikalien o.Ä. verwenden!
