congurethewirelessWANadapteronthefollowingoperatingsystems:

Beforeyoubegin

BeforeinstallingthewirelessWANadapter,carefullyreadthefollowinginformation.

Attention:ThewirelessWANadapterisshippedwithanantistaticbag.Whenhandling,takethefollowing

precautionstopreventstaticelectricityfromdamagingtheelectronicparts:

•DonotopentheantistaticbaguntilyouarereadytoinstallthewirelessWANadapterintothePCIExpress

M.2cardslotinyourcomputer.

•BeforeremovingthewirelessWANadapterfromtheantistaticbag,drainstaticelectricityfromthebag

andfromyourbodybytouchingthebagtoametaltableoragroundedmetalobject.

InstallingthewirelessWANadapter

WheninstallingorreplacingthewirelessWANadapter,besuretofollowtheprecautionsbelow.

Duringelectricalstorms,donotconnectthecabletoordisconnectitfromthetelephoneoutlet

onthewall.

Electriccurrentfrompower,telephone,andcommunicationcablesishazardous.Toavoidshock

1.Turnoffthecomputer.

2.InstallthewirelessWANadapterfollowingthestep-by-stepinstructionsonthesetupposters.

2.StarttheLMBAprogramtoactivatethewirelessWANadapter.Anaccountwithamobilebroadband

ServiceProviderisrequired.

3.StarttheThinkVantageAccessConnections™programtoconrmyourwirelessconnectionortoassist

inresolvinganyconnectionproblems.Fordetailedcongurationinstructions,refertotheAccess

Connectionshelpinformationsystem.

•UsetheSystemUpdateprogrambydoingthefollowing:

a.Right-clickanywhereontheStartscreen,andthenclickAllappsonthebottombar.TheApps

menuisdisplayed.

b.ClickSystemUpdate,andthenfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.

2.StarttheLMAprogramtoactivatethewirelessWANadapter.Anaccountwithamobilebroadband

ServiceProviderisrequired.

Note:IfthereisnoLMAprograminstalledonthecomputer,searchtheLMAprogramintheWindows

Storeandinstallitbeforeyoubegin.

3.ClickLenovoMobileAccessfromtheStartscreen,andthenfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.

Chapter3.Troubleshooting

IfyouexperiencethefollowingproblemwiththewirelessWANadapter,trythesolutionprovidedtosolve

theproblem.

Problem:IhavecorrectlyinstalledthewirelessWANadapteronmycomputer,butthecomputerfailsto

recognizethewirelessWANadapter.

Solution:ResettheUniedExtensibleFirmwareInterface(UEFI)BasicInput/OutputSystem(BIOS)

congurationofyourcomputertothedefaultsettingsbydoingthefollowing:

1.Turnonthecomputer.

2.WhenyouseetheThinkPadlogoscreen,pressF1toentertheBIOS.

3.PressF9,andthenselectY estoloadthedefaultconguration.

4.PressF10tosavecongurationchangesandexit.TheSetupConrmationwindowopens.

5.SelectYesintheSetupConrmationwindow.Thecomputerrestarts.

Note:Afterthecomputerrestarts,theBIOSchangesareautomaticallysaved.Thereisnoneedtoreset

theBIOScongurationagainthenexttimeyoustartyourcomputer.
