Introduction
The Sonicare UV Sanitizer uses a specially designed
UV light bulb that helps kill germs on the brush head
of your rechargeable toothbrush in a 10-minute
sanitizing cycle.When used properly on Sonicare
ProResults, Sonicare e-series, Oral-B Flexisoft*
and Oral-B FlossAction** brush heads, this device
is designed and demonstrated to act upon the
following germs: Streptococcus mutans, Herpes
simplex virus and Escherichia coli.

DANGERS
To reduce the risk of electrocution:
1 DO NOT place or store the sanitizer where it
can fall or be pulled into a bathtub, sink or toilet.
2 DO NOT place or drop in water or any other
liquid.
3 DO NOT reach for a sanitizer that has fallen
into water. Unplug immediately.

WARNINGS
To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock,
re or injury:
1 DO NOT plug into an outlet with a voltage
other than specied on the bottom of the
sanitizer.Voltage converters and plug adapters
DO NOT guarantee voltage compatibility.
Never force the plug into an outlet; if it does not
easily t into the outlet, discontinue use. Unplug
the sanitizer and call Customer Service if the
sanitizer gives off smoke or a burning smell while
in operation.
2 Never use the sanitizer if it has a damaged cord
or plug. Keep away from heated surfaces. Do not
use the sanitizer outdoors or in areas with direct
sunlight.
3 Discontinue use of the sanitizer if the UV light
bulb remains on when the door is open or if the
window in the door is broken or missing. UV
light can be harmful to the human eye and skin.
4 This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
5 Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
6 Do not operate the sanitizer without the
protective screen in place to avoid contact with
a hot bulb.
7 If the sanitizer is used for 3 consecutive UV clean
cycles (i.e., 3 times in a row) a minimum of
30 minutes ‘Off Time’ is required before you
start another UV clean cycle.

8 Do not use attachments other than those
recommended by the manufacturer.

10 Do not use this product or any of its
components for purposes other than described

(spray) products are being used or where
oxygen is being administered.

Before rst use
Note:Your sanitizer may come with the UV light bulb
installed. If this is the case, go on to chapter ‘Preparing
for use’.
1 Placeyourngerinthedoorrecessonthe
right-handsideofthesanitizerandpullopen
thedoor.
2 Removethedriptray.
3 Removetheprotectivescreenbygentlylifting
itup(1)andpullingitforward(2).
4 InstalltheUVlightbulbbysnappingitintothe
lampholder.
Donotcrushorbreakthebulb.UVlightbulbs
containasmallamountofmercury.
Note: Use only the UV light bulb supplied or
a replacement UV light bulb ordered from Philips or
Philips Authorized Service Centers.
Note:To remove the UV light bulb, pull it out of the
lamp holder.

Sanitizing brush heads of two different types
If you want to sanitize brush heads of two different
types, use the appropriate brush head holder for
each type.

eachtypeofbrushhead(seechapter‘General
description’.Sonicaree-seriesbrushheadsdo
notrequireabrushheadholder).
2 Followtheinstructionsgivenunder‘Sanitizing
SonicareProResults,Oral-BFlexisoftand
Oral-BFlossActionbrushheads’.

Using the appliance
Donotplacethetravelcaponthebrushhead
duringsanitization.
1 Afterbrushing,rinsethebrushheadandshake
offexcesswater.
2 Placeyourngerinthedoorrecessonthe
right-handsideofthesanitizerandpullopen
thedoor.
3 Putthebrushheadsintothesanitizer(see
chapter‘Preparingforuse’).
Note: Make sure the bristles of the brush head face the
light bulb.
4 Closethesanitizerdoor.
Note:The sanitizer does not work when the door is not
properly closed.
5 Putthepluginalivepoweroutlet.
6 Pressthepoweron/offbuttontostarttheUV
cleancycle.
Note:The sanitizer is in operation when the blue light
glows through the window on the front of the sanitizer
and the UV clean LED ashes slowly.
Note:The sanitizer needs to run for the full 10-minute
UV clean cycle to get optimal results.
Note:When the sanitizing cycle is complete, the
UV clean LED turns solid green and the sanitizer
automatically shuts off.
Note:You can stop the sanitizer during the sanitizing
cycle by either pressing the on/off button or by opening
the door.
