1. Introduction
1.1 Product Overview
At the time of writing, the mobile driving recorders available in the market have only the basic
function of recording images and sounds. They do not have any other traffic or driving
information for the user. Data is generally stored in SD cards (memory cards). These SD cards
have limited reading and writing life. During operation, if the SD card’s life unfortunately comes
to an end, the recorded data may not be recoverable. To address this problem, some
manufacturers are currently selling domestic DVR’s as mobile driving recorders. This solution
ignores the fact that hard disk in the domestic DVR’s can easily get damaged and malfunction
due to vibrations sustained whilst driving.
The SVS MDVR line features multiple recording storage options, thereby delivering great
versatility and redundancy support as well as high quality H.264 codec compression for longer
recording capacity and data integrity.
Features:
Quick bootup and extended recording after engine shut off
– System boots up approx. 30 seconds after starting car engine. Automatic
recording function starts after complete system bootup.
– After switching off engine, device can be set to prolong recording for approx.
1 to 10 minutes. (According to user’s preference)
Data can be saved on either the HDD or the SD card. In normal working condition,
the data is stored in the HDD. If the vehicle is subjected to external impact and the
HDD is damaged or if the HDD is full, recording reverts to the SD card
automatically.
