Before Applying Power

Verify that all safety precautions are takenaccording to the user manual

of the individual instrument. Verify that the voltage range and frequency of

your power distributionmatchesto the power specificationof the individual

instrument. Never use cablesother than the onessupplied by Agilent

Technologiesto ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety or

EMC regulations. Make all connections to the unit before applying power.

Ground theInstrument

If your product isprovided with agrounding type power plug, the instrument

chassisand cover must be connected to an electrical ground to minimize

shock hazard. The ground pinmust be firmly connected to an electrical

ground (safety ground) terminal at the power outlet. Any interruptionof the

protective (grounding) conductor or disconnectionof the protective earth

terminal will cause apotential shock hazard that could result inpersonal

injury.
