Congratulations. You have purchased a Cooper Lighting, LLC Dusk to Dawn

security wall light. This fixture will provide years of convenience and protection

for your home or business.

How it works

Your Dusk to Dawn security light features a light sensor that automatically turns

the light on at dusk and off at dawn.

What you need

• Phillips head screwdriver

• Flat head screwdriver

• Weatherproof silicone caulk

What to know

• For outdoor use only.

• UL listed for wet locations.

• Fixture designed for wall mount to an outlet box only. Install fixture to outlet

box marked for use in wet locations.

• Fixture must be connected to a 120 Volt, 60 Hz power source. Any other

connection voids the warranty.

• Fixture should be installed by persons with experience in household wiring or

by a qualified electrician. The electrical system, and the method of electrically

connecting the fixture to it, must be in accordance with the National Electrical

Code and local building codes.

• This device complies with Part 18 of the FCC Rules. Any changes or modifi-

cations to the product described in this instruction sheet that are not expressly

approved by Cooper Lighting, LLC could void the user’s authority to operate

the equipment.

reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.

This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if

not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful

interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that

interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does

cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be

determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try

to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that

to which the receiver is connected.

• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

• Always use same wattage and type of bulb that was included with the fixture.

Failure to do so will void the warranty.

Installing your fixture

Step 1: Turn power off at main breaker that runs to the box where fixture will

be installed.

Step 2: Attach adjustable mounting bracket (D) to junction box on wall using

two of the mounting plate screws provided. Either the #6 or #8 screws

provided will fit most standard junction boxes. Position the bracket

so that the mounting studs for the fixture are horizontal. Tighten the

rotation screw on the bracket.

Step 3: Loosen lens screw (E) in the bottom of the fixture completely out and

remove the lens and bulb.

Step 4: Wire the fixture as described in “Wiring your fixture”.

Step 5: Position the fixture so that the bracket screws pass through the back-

plate of the fixture housing (A). Tighten the housing to the mounting

bracket with the knobs provided. Make sure your fixture is straight.

Mounting bracket does swivel so you can adjust to get fixture straight.

Step 6: Install the bulb (C) as described in “Installing the bulb” and put

lens (B) back onto fixture housing (A). Insert lens screw (E) and

tighten to secure the lens. Be sure the lens edges and lens screw tab

are fully seated on the inside of the fixture housing (A).

Step 7: Add silicone caulk around fixture to help maintain a weather

resistant seal.

Step 8: Turn power back on. Bulb should glow dimly at first building to full

power in 1-2 minutes.

Note: During daytime installation, the bulb should turn off after 45 seconds

to one minute. This is normal operation. The bulb will restart at night and

operate until dawn. Should you want to operate the fixture during daylight,

cover the light sensor completely with black electrical tape.

Wiring your fixture

Step 1: Turn the power off at main fuse/breaker box.

Step 2: Connect the black fixture wire to the black supply wire (hot). Secure

with a wire connector.

Step 3: Connect the white fixture wire to the white supply wire (neutral).

Secure with a wire connector.

Step 4: Connect the bare ground wire on the mounting bracket (D) to an

appropriate supply ground or grounded outlet box. Secure with a

wire connector.

Note: Be careful to connect the wires correctly. Make sure no bare strands

of wire are sticking out of the wire connectors.

Installing the bulb

Step 1: Rotate the lamp holding bracket and line up the pins on the bulb with the

holes in the socket.

Step 2: Snap the bulb securely into the socket.

Step 3: Reposition the lamp holding bracket over bulb and tighten the screw.

Note: When replacing the bulb, you must always use the same wattage and

type of bulb that was originally supplied with the fixture. Failure to do so could

result in damage to the fixture and bulb. This will void the warranty. Always

turn off or disconnect power before servicing to reduce risk of electrical shock.

Manual operation

You may choose to override the photo control. This will allow you to control the

fixture from a wall switch without the dusk-to-dawn feature.

Step 1: Snap the photo control cover (G) over the photo control on the face

of the fixture.

Is the light sensor in a shaded area?

• Shine a flashlight into the light sensor for 2-3

minutes. If the light turns off, the fixture is

mounted in an area that does not allow enough

light to enter the light sensor.

Is the light sensor good?

• Shine a flashlight into the light sensor for 2-3

minutes. If the light does not turn off, the light

sensor is bad. Call customer service.

LIGHT COMES ON FOR

ONLY A FEW SECONDS Is the light sensor sensing reflected light?

• Cover light sensor with electrician’s tape. Wait 2-3

minutes to see if light turns on. If it does, fixture is

receiving reflected light. Partially cover the light

sensor to block out the reflected light.

Is there power to the fixture?

• Has the house circuit breaker tripped?

• Is the wall switch ON?

Is the bulb(s) plugged or screwed in completely?

• Is the bulb(s) good?

(Be careful not to over tighten.)

Is the light sensor able to determine darkness?

• Cover light sensor with electrician’s tape. Wait 2-3

minutes to see if light turns on. If it does, the

sensor is receiving too much light.

Is the wiring to the unit loose?

TURN OFF POWER BEFORE CHECKING.

Two-year limited warranty

Cooper Lighting, LLC (“the Company”) warrants this product (“the product”)

against defects in material or workmanship for a period of two years from date

of original purchase, and agrees to repair or, at the Company’s option, replace

a defective product without charge for either replacement parts or labor during

such time. This does not include labor to remove or install fixtures.

This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser of the product.

A purchasers receipt or other proof of date of original purchase acceptable to

the Company is required before warranty performance shall be rendered.

This warranty only covers product failure due to defects in materials or

workmanship which occurs in normal use. It does not cover the bulb or failure

of the product caused by accident, misuse, abuse, lack of reasonable care,

alteration, or faulty installation, subjecting the product to any but the specified

electrical service or any other failure not resulting from defects in materials or

workmanship. Damage to the product caused by separately purchased,

non-Company brand replacement bulbs and corrosion or discoloration of brass

components are not covered by this warranty.

There are no express warranties except as described above.

THE COMPANY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR

CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THE

PRODUCT OR ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY. ALL

IMPLIED WARRANTIES, IF ANY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF

MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE

LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS EXPRESS WARRANTY.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or

consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so

the above exclusions or limitations may not apply to you.

No other warranty, written or verbal, is authorized by the Company. This

warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights

which vary from state to state.

To obtain warranty service, please write to: Cooper Lighting, LLC, 1121 Highway

74 South, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Enclose product model number and

problems you are experiencing, along with your address and telephone number.

You will then be contacted with a solution, or a Return Goods Authorization

number and full instructions for returning the product. All returned products

must be accompanied by a Return Goods Authorization Number issued by the

Company and must be returned freight prepaid. Any product received with-

out a Return Goods Authorization Number from the Company will be

refused.

Cooper Lighting, LLC is not responsible for merchandise damaged in transit.

Repaired or replaced products shall be subject to the terms of this warranty and

are inspected when packed. Evident or concealed damage that is made in

transit should be reported at once to the carrier making the delivery and a claim

filed with them.

Atardecer de Cooper Lighting, LLC. Este portalámparas le proporcionará años

Qué se necesita saber

• Se debe utilizar en exteriores solamente.

• Aprobado por UL para su utilización en áreas húmedas.

• Portalámparas diseñado para instalar en la pared solamente en cajas de

distribución. Instale el portalámparas en una caja de distribución para uso en

área húmedas.

• El portalámparas debe estar conectado a una fuente de energía de 120

Instalación del portalámparas

Paso 1: Corte la alimentación eléctrica en el interruptor de la línea tendida

hasta la caja donde será instalado el artefacto.

Paso 2: Fije el soporte (D) ajustable de montaje a la caja de empalmes de la

pared con los dos tornillos de la placa de montaje incluidos.

Cualquiera de los tornillos #6 o #8 incluidos, le servirán a la mayoría

de las cajas de empalme. Coloque el soporte en posición tal que los

prisioneros de montaje del artefacto queden horizontales. Apriete el

tornillo giratorio sobre el brazo de montaje.

Paso 3: Afloje completamente los tornillos del lente (E), sacándolos afuera por

la en la parte inferior del artefacto y retire el lente y la lámpara.

Paso 4: Conecte el portalámparas tal y como se describe en “Cableado del

portalámparas.”

Paso 5: Coloque el artefacto en forma tal que los tornillos del soporte pasen a

través de la placa posterior de la carcasa del artefacto (A). Apriete la

carcasa contra el soporte de montaje con las perillas provistas.

Asegúrese de que su artefacto quede derecho. El brazo de montaje

es giratorio, de manera que puede ajustarlo para que el artefacto

quede derecho.

Paso 6: Instale la lámpara (C) como se describe en “Instalación de la lámpara”

y coloque el lente (B) de vuelta en la carcasa del artefacto (A). Inserte

el tornillo del lente y apriételo para fijarlo. Asegúrese de que los

bordes del lente y la aleta del tornillo del lente estén totalmente

asentados dentro de la carcasa del artefacto (A).

Nota: Cuando se instala durante el día, el foco(s) debe apagarse después de

45 segundos o un minuto. Esto es normal. El foco se volverá a encender

por la noche y permanecerá encendida hasta el amanecer. Si desea que la

lámpara funcione durante el día, cubra el fotosensor completamente con cinta

eléctrica negra.

Cableado del portalámparas

Paso 1: Desconecte la energía eléctrica en la caja principal del desconector

automático/fusibles.

Paso 2: Conecte el cable negro del portalámparas al cable negro de

suministro (activo). Asegúrelo con la tuerca para cables.

Paso 3: Conecte el cable blanco del portalámparas al cable blanco de

suministro (neutral). Asegúrelo con la tuerca para cables.

Paso 4: Conecte el alambre desnudo de toma de tierra del brazo de montaje

(D) a una toma de tierra de la alimentación o a una caja de conexiones

conectada a tierra. Asegúrelo con la tuerca para cables.

Nota: Conecte los cables correctamente. Asegúrese de que no sale ningún

alambre suelto de las tuercas conectores.

Instalación del foco

Paso 1: Gire el soporte de la lámpara y alinee los pines del bulbo con los

orificios en el zócalo.

Paso 2: Inserte con seguridad el o los bulbo en el zócalo.

Paso 3: Vuelva a colocar en posición el soporte de la lámpara sobre el bulbo

y apriete el tornillo.

Nota: Cuando reemplace el foco, debe usar uno foco del mismo vatiaje y

tipo que la que fue suministrada con el portalámparas. El hacer lo contrario

podría dar como resultado daños al portalámparas y a el foco(s). Esto anula la

garantía. Para reducir el riesgo de un choque eléctrico, asegúrese siempre de

desconectar o interrumpir la alimentación antes de llevar a cabo labores de

mantenimiento.

Operación manual

Es posible que desee anular el control de foto celda. Esto le permitirá

controlar el accesorio sin la función de amanecer - atardecer desde un

interruptor de pared.

Paso 1: Cubra el control de foto celda, en el frente del accesorio, con la

cubierta (G)
