It is important that the filters are cleaned regularly to allow

air through the appliance. Shake to remove dust, the filter

can also be washed in warm water and left to air dry.

IMPORTANT - Ensure filter is totally dry before refitting

into machine.

the dangers associated

with operating electrical

appliances. Never allow

children to use this

appliance.

• Children should be

supervised to ensure that

they do not play with the

appliance.

ELECTRICAL

REQUIREMENTS

Check that the voltage on

the rating plate of your

appliance corresponds with

your house electricity

supply which must be A.C.

(Alternating Current).

If the socket outlets in your

home are not suitable for

the plug supplied with this

appliance the plug should

be removed and the

appropriate one fitted.

If you cut off the plug and

let go of the cable it will

rewind into the machine,

therefore you must pull out

a length of cable and

secure it before cutting the

plug off and re-fitting a new

one.

WARNING: The plug

removed from the mains

lead, if severed, must be

destroyed as a plug with

a bared flexible cord is

hazardous if engaged

into a live socket outlet.

Should the fuse in the 13

amp plug require changing

a 13 amp BS1362 fuse

must be fitted.

OPERATING THE

APPLIANCE

ASSEMBLY

Your vacuum cleaner has an

efficient suction action to

provide high levels of cleaning

on all types of surface around

the home.

Switch off before fitting or

removing accessories.

Insert the flexible

hose

Insert the flexible hose Áin the

hose inlet duct ·on the front

of the product, press until it

clicks into position A.

To remove the flexible

hose

Press the release button to

release the flexible hose. Pull

the hose firmly from the hose

inlet duct.

Fitting the extension

tubes and

accessories

Join the two extension tubes Î

together and attach the

extension tubes to the handle

end Áof the hose. Some tasks

may be easier with only one

extension tube fitted.

Attach the floor nozzle Êto the

extension tubes. The floor nozzle

can be used for carpets, rugs,

hard floors and tiles.

Other accessories

include:

• Crevice tool Èfor awkward

places, corners and behind

radiators etc.

• Brush attachment Ífor

pelmets, delicate objects etc.

• Upholstery nozzle Ëfor sofas,

armchairs etc.

• Tools can be stored on the tool

storage clip Ïthat fits onto the

extension tubes.

Turbo nozzle Ì

(certain models only)

• This nozzle is ideal for picking

up pet hairs from upholstery or

stairs.

Cleaning the turbo

nozzle

(certain models only)

• The turbo nozzle should be

regularly cleaned and any hairs

or fibres wrapped around the

brush bar removed to maintain

optimum performance.

CONTROLS

On/off control

Press the on/off pedal ‹ to

start the machine, press again to

turn off.

Eco Switch

The Eco Switch allows you to

turn down the power when

cleaning more delicate items

such as curtains and upholstery,

saving energy and reducing

running costs.

Suction control on

the handle

The suction power can be

adjusted using the fingertip

control on the handle B.

Closed : full suction

Open : low suction

The brushes should be retracted

for use on carpets and down for

use on hard floors by adjusting

the lever on the floor nozzle.

After vacuuming

1Switch off the vacuum cleaner.

2Unplug from the mains.

3Use a hand or foot to operate

the cable rewind ﬁ.

WARNING: When using the

cable rewind, always hold

the plug as the cable will

rewind quickly.

Emptying the dust

canister

1Disconnect the cleaner from the

mains socket.

2Disconnect the hose from the

hose inlet duct.

3Remove the dust canister by

pushing the pod release latch

4Remove the filter basket and

empty the pod into a waste bin

If the dust is tightly packed tap

the front cover. Shake the filter

basket into the waste bin, this

will remove most of the dust.

Replacement filter

basket

To maintain the suction of the

cleaner the filter basket must be

washed regularly (in warm water

only, no detergent).

• Allow the filter basket to air dry

naturally.

IMPORTANT: Both parts MUST

BE THOROUGHLY DRY before

the assembly is re-fitted to the

cleaner.

Reassemble

• Replace the filter basket

ensuring that the seal is good

E. Then replace the pod onto

the main body F.

Motor protection filter

This cleaner is fitted with a

motor protection filter. NEVER

USE THE VACUUM CLEANER

WITHOUT THIS IN PLACE.

To clean the motor

protection filter

1Remove the filter from the filter

grille G.

2Rinse the filter in lukewarm

water and dry the filter

completely.

3Put the filter back into the filter

grille and reassemble.

Storage position

The vacuum cleaner can be

stored in an upright position.

Slide the storage hook „into

the slot on the base of the

product Âand the tubes, hose

and floor nozzle are held

HINTS AND TIPS

Changing and

cleaning the exhaust

filter

This filter should be replaced

every 12 months or sooner if

required.

Remove the exhaust filter grille

by pulling the locking tabs

towards you I. Remove the

used filter. Insert the clean micro

exhaust filter and replace the

filter grille.

IMPORTANT:

• All filters should be checked

regularly for signs of damage,

preferably after each cleaning

task. The filters must be

replaced immediately if they

become damaged.

• Always disconnect the cleaner

from the mains when checking

filters.

• Always make sure all filters are

fitted before use. Failure to do

so may result in damage to your

product.

• If the sound of the cleaner

changes slightly, clean the filters

and check for blockages.

Cleaning and

maintenance

Unplug from the mains before

cleaning. The vacuum cleaner,

especially the dust

compartment and all

accessories can be cleaned

using a damp cloth or a non-

abrasive domestic cleaner and

wiped dry.

To keep the underside of the

floor nozzle clean, vacuum it at

regular intervals using the

crevice tool.

factory. In the unlikely event

of any appliance proving to

be faulty within 28 days of

purchase, it should be

returned to the place of

purchase for it to be

replaced.

If the fault develops after

28 days and within 24

months of original

purchase, you should

number quoting Model

number and Serial number

on the product, or write to

Morphy Richards at the

address shown.

You may be asked to return

a copy of proof of

purchase.

Subject to the exclusions

set out below (see

Exclusions) the faulty

appliance will then be

repaired or replaced and

dispatched usually within 7

working days of receipt.

If you suspect a fault,

follow the simple checks

detailed below before

retrying the appliance or

calling the helpline.

• Check the filters for

blockages.

• Check the tools / tubes for

blockages.

• Check the plug is firmly in the

socket.

• Check the socket is working

by trying another appliance.

• Check the fuse in the plug.

If for any reason this item is

replaced during the 2 year

guarantee period, the

guarantee on the new item

will be calculated from

original purchase date.

Therefore it is vital to retain

your original till receipt or

invoice to indicate the date

of initial purchase.

To qualify for the 2 year

guarantee, the appliance

must have been used

according to the

instructions supplied.

EXCLUSIONS

Morphy Richards shall not

be liable to replace or

repair the goods under the

terms of the guarantee

where:

or is attributable to

accidental use, misuse,

negligent use or used

contrary to the

manufacturer’s

recommendations or where

the fault has been caused

by power surges or

damage caused in transit.

used on a voltage supply

other than that stamped on

other than our service staff

(or authorised dealer).

4Where the appliance has

been used for hire

purposes or non domestic

use.

liable to carry out any type

of servicing work, under

consumables such as

confer any rights other than

above and does not cover

any claims for

consequential loss or

your statutory rights as a

not be disposed of with household

waste.
