controller (PC) is a solid

state

logic

control device for

industrial

applications. As

the

term

"programmable"

implies,

its

memory

can

be readily

changed

meet

changing

application

requirements.

Fundamental Concepts

The controller continuously monitors

the

status

devices connected

inputs.

Based on

the

user's

program,

the

controller controls

the

devices connected

outputs.

These

input

and

output

devices

can

be of

different types

with

various

voltage

and

current

ranges. They include

the

switches
