Moxa Technologies ME60A Handbuch

Moxa Single-Strand Fiber Converter

Hardware Installation Guide

1. Introduction

IEEE802.3u 100 Mbps Fast Ethernetsupports

two types of media for network connection:

10/100BaseT(X) and 100BaseFX.The

Single-Strand Fiber Converter (ME60) is designed

with an optic Wavelength Division Multiplexing

(WDM) technology that transports bi-directional

full duplexsignals over a single- strand fiber cable

simultaneously.

100Base-Xnetwork allows 512-bit time delay

between any two node-stations in a collision

domain. This switch-based converter breaks up

the TPas well as Fiber segments' collision

domain and extends the cabling distance.

ME60B RX(Receive) 1310 nm

Note:

ME60A/ME60B products mustbe installed in

pairs. I.e., install an ME60Aat one end, and an

ME60B at the other end.

ME60Aand ME60B can be identified by looking

at the labels on the products side orback panel.

3. Installing MOXASingle-Strand Fiber

Converter

Note:

The Single-Strand Fiber Converter Series is

hot-swappable.

l Wear a grounding device to protectagainst

electrostatic discharge.

l Verify thatthe AC-DC adapter conforms to your

country sAC power requirement and then

insert the power plug.

l Install the media cable fornetwork connection.

Attach the single-strand fibercable

Fiber

Port Install ME60Aand ME60B models at the

ends of the single-strand fiber cable.
