OVERVIEW

 These Structural Concepts merchandisers are

designed to merchandise packaged products at

ambient temperatures.

 Cases should be installed and operated according to

this operating manual’s instructions to insure proper

performance. Improper use will void warranty.

TYPE I ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

This unit is designed for the display of products in ambient

store conditions where temperatures and humidity are

maintained within a specific range.

 Type 1 Conditions (this case): ambient conditions are

to be at 55% maximum humidity and maximum

temperatures of 75 °F (24 °C).

 This merchandiser is designed to display non-

hazardous, packaged/unpackaged bakery products.

COMPLIANCE

 Performance issues when in violation of applicable

NEC, federal, state and local electrical codes are not

covered by warranty.

 See below compliance guideline.

WIRING DIAGRAM

 Each case has its own wiring diagram folded and in its

own packet.

 Wiring diagram placement may vary; it may be placed

near ballast box, field wiring box, raceway cover, or

other related location.

compliance with all applicable NEC,

federal, state and local electrical codes.

Risk of electric shock. Only authorized electrical contractors

should perform field wiring box connectivity duties.

CAUTION! POWER CORD AND PLUG MAINTENANCE

Risk of electric shock. Any appliances that are sitting on or around

this unit may have a cord or plug that can become damaged.

In such instances, replace only with cord and plug of same type.

Urethane (Ethyl Carbamate), which are known to the state of

California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive

 Each case has its own wiring diagram folded and in its own packet.

 Wiring diagram placement may vary; it may be placed near ballast

box, field wiring box, raceway cover, or other related location.

CAUTION! GFCI BREAKER REQUIREMENT

If N.E.C. (National Electric Code) or your local code

requires GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection,

you MUST use a GFCI breaker in lieu of a GFCI receptacle.

CAUTION!

To prevent sagging, do not exceed 5 LBS (2.3 KG) weight load

per top glass section (between posts and/or supports).

SEAL FLOOR-MOUNTED UNITS TO FLOOR

Thoroughly clean floor to assure a secure seal.

Fixed (non-removable) base frames,

cladding or panels must be sealed to floor

with silicone that meets or exceed

food grade NSF/ANSI Standard 51.

INSTALLATION: REAR TOE-KICKS (OUTER/INNER/INNER END PANEL) / ELECTRICAL BOX

1. Rear Toe-Kick Removal

 Rear toe-kicks may be removed to allow access

to levelers as well as greater cleanability of unit.

 Rear toe-kicks must be disconnected from unit

before removing from skid (to prevent damage to

unit).

 After case has been moved in place, adjoined to

and level, rear toe-kicks may be attached.

 See illustrations below.

2. Side Sneeze Guards

 Side sneeze guards MAY NOT be on case during

shipment.

 If not, they must be attached after case is in

position.

3. Electrical Box (At Case Rear)

 An electrical box is at case rear.

 It may be configured to a power source as

determined in the field.

 See illustration below.

4. Remove Shipping Brackets From Skid

 Shipping brackets hold case to skid during shipment.

 After case has been safely shipped to facility,

shipping brackets may be removed from skid.

5. Remove Lower Front Panel

 Lower front panel may be lifted up and off unit (via

slot/hook and magnet method).

 See illustration below.

6. Remove Case From Skid

 Caution! Case must be supported at all times.

 When case is at edge of skid, carefully lower to floor

so that two levelers rest on floor.

 Carefully slide skid out from under case.

 After case is off skid, place into position.

 See next page for leveler adjustment specifics.

7. Alignment With Other Cases In Lineup

 This unit may have to be carefully aligned with

others as part lineup.

 Check lineup documentation (shipped with case) to

make certain that this unit is aligned properly.

 Also, check whether lineup requires a filler panel.

9. Inner Adjustable Close-Off / Outer End

Panel Base / Seal Close-Off To Floor

 After case in position and levelers are properly

adjusted, insert the gravity-based inner adjustable

close-off into outer end panel base.

 After sealant has been applied to underside of

adjustable close-off, adhere it to floor

10. Attach Inner End Panel To Case

 After inner adjustable close-off has been sealed to

floor, attach inner end panel to case (via magnets).

 See illustration below.

8. Adjust Levelers

 Adjust levelers so the case is level and plumb.

 Use adjustable wrench to adjust levelers.

 Depending upon case weight it may be necessary to

use a pry bar to accomplish this task.

 Do not use pry bar on toe-kick as it may buckle.

 Do not use pry bar on end panel as it may chip.

 Use pry bar ONLY on base frame to avoid

damaging case.

 After levelers are adjusted, replace front panel.

12. Electrical Box / Plate

 Wiring from adjoining case can be connected to

rear, sides or underside of 2 x 4 electrical box.

 Remove electrical box plate to access area.

 See illustration below.

11. Wiring Route For Model CDR6895

 This unit is specifically designed to accompany

case-to-case wiring.

 Openings are provided at rear-left for wiring to be

routed in and around to 2 x 4 electrical box.

14. Electrical Boxes / Plates

 Openings are provided at rear-left for wiring to be

routed in and around to the 4 x 4 and 2 x 4

electrical boxes.

 Wiring can then daisy-chain to 2 x 4 outlet.

 Wiring from adjoining case can be connected to

rear, sides or underside of electrical boxes.

 Remove electrical box plates to access area.

13. Wiring Route For Model CDR7073 (Similar

To CDR7073A, CDR7279 and CDR7279A)

 This unit is capable of accompanying case-to-

case wiring.

 Openings are provided at rear for wiring to be

routed in and around to the 2 x 4 electrical box.

 Wiring can then daisy-chained to second 2 x 4

outlet.

 Wiring from adjoining case can be connected to

rear, sides or underside of electrical boxes.

 Remove electrical outlet plates to access area.
