OVERVIEW

 These cases should be installed and operated

according to these instructions to ensure proper

performance. Improper use will void warranty.

 This unit is designed for the display of products in

ambient store conditions where temperatures and

humidity are maintained at a maximum of 75 °F and

55% relative humidity.

COMPLIANCE

 Performance issues when in violation of applicable

NEC, federal, state or local electrical codes are not

covered by warranty.

 See compliance specifics below.

electrical and plumbing codes.

WARNINGS

 This sheet contains important warnings to prevent

PRECAUTIONS

 This sheet also contains important precautions to

prevent damage to unit, power cord and plug or

merchandise. Please read carefully!

WIRING DIAGRAM

 Each case has its own wiring diagram folded and

in its own packet.

 Wiring diagram placement may vary; it may be

placed near ballast box, field wiring box, raceway

cover, or other related location.

CAUTION! GFCI BREAKER USE REQUIREMENT

If N.E.C. (National Electric Code) or your local code

requires GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection,

you MUST use a GFCI breaker in lieu of a GFCI receptacle.

CAUTION! POWER CORD AND PLUG MAINTENANCE

Risk of electric shock. If cord or plug becomes damaged,

replace only with cord and plug of same type.

CAUTION! LAMP REPLACEMENT GUIDELINES

LED lamps reflect specific size, shape and overall design.

Any replacements must meet factory specifications.

Fluorescent lamps have been treated to resist breakage and

must be replaced with similarly treated lamps.

REMOVAL FROM SKID / ADJUSTING LEVELERS

1. Remove Unit From Skid

 Remove case from skid and place into

proper position.

 To prevent damage, support case while

sliding skid out from under case.

 Note:Illustration at right reflects general

2. Cases With Levelers: Adjust Levelers

 After case is in position, adjust case so it is level

and plumb (see illustration at right).

 You may need to remove front and/or rear

Toe-Kick to access levelers.

 Use adjustable wrench (and possibly a pry bar)

to adjust leveler.

 Do not use pry bar on toe-kick (it may buckle).

 Do not use pry bar on end panel (it may chip).

 Use pry bar ONLY on base frame to avoid

damaging case.

 Use a block to reach base frames with pry bar.

 See illustration below.

Front Glass

Front Glass Alignment & Adjustment via Rails OR Levelers (For Curved or Flat Front Glass)

 Proper alignment of the front glass is important to create and maintain a seal inside the case.

 Improper alignment can cause air leaks compromising environment inside case and creating condensation.

 Follow the five steps listed below to assure proper front glass alignment.

 Illustrations shown below may not exactly reflect every feature or option of your particular case.

2. Front-to-Back Leveling:

 Place a level on top of case,

perpendicular to front glass.

 Raise or lower either side of

case by shimming under the

rails [or adjusting levelers] to

level the case. Follow steps

3 & 4 below to properly level

the case.

1. Side-to-Side Leveling: Place a level on top of display case

(parallel to front glass). Raise or lower either side of case by

inserting shims under the rails [or adjusting levelers] to level the

case. Follow steps 3 and 4 below to properly level case.

5. Verification:

 After inserting shims (or adjusting levelers), open and shut the

curved (or flat) front glass.

 Verify (again) that the front glass is properly aligned at both

left-hand and right-hand sides of the case.

 If not, repeat shimming (or leveler adjustment procedure) until

front glass is properly aligned along both sides of the case.

3. If FRONT-LEFT CORNER of front glass is

too close to end panel (or colliding with it):

A. Insert shim at back left corner of case or

B. Adjust levelers DOWNWARD at BACK-

LEFT corner of the case.

too close to end panel (or colliding with it):

A. Insert shim at back right corner of case or

FRONT GLASS ALIGNMENT & ADJUSTMENT [VIA RAILS OR LEVELERS] - FROM SCC P/N 5-6563

START-UP AND OPERATION

1. Caster Locking Operation (if option chosen)

 To lock casters push down on lever, to unlock pull

up the lever all the way.

 See illustration at below right for view of Locking

Casters.

2. Electrical Access and Connections

Rear Wireway, if used - Remove screws from rear

wireway cover to access electrical leads.

 Wiring may run case to case through cut-outs in

base.

 Knockout is provided in bottom of wire-way for

stub-up connection.

 Separate leads for lights that are labeled

accordingly.

 Standard 120 volt, single phase connections is

required and should be performed by a certified

electrician.

Ballast Box, if used - Remove screws from ballast box

cover, rear panel, and ballast box inner support.

Knockouts are located on side of box for making

electrical connections.

3. Merchandiser Start-Up

Turn on the lights. All of the lights should come on at

the same time.

 First time lighting may require a short warm up

period for the bulbs.

 Slightly dim or a flickering of new bulbs is normal.

 If lights do not turn on, check all of the raceway

plugs.

 The lighting is wired in series so all lights must

be plugged in or receptacles capped in order

for the case to light.

START-UP AND OPERATION, CONTINUED

1. Raise The Curved Glass

 To raise the curved glass, grab the lift handle extrusion on the bottom edge of the front curved glass

and lift up.

 Gas cylinders hold the glass open for hands-free access to the interior of the case.

 Note: When cases are next to a wedge, only one front curved glass may be lifted at a time.

2. Removing the Rear Doors

 Move the rear doors toward the center of the case.

 Individually lift each door up toward the top of the case; pivot the bottom of the door out.

Maintenance Fundamentals

1. Vertical Front Panel Removal: Follow steps shown below.

2. Replace in reverse order as shown below.

3. Shelf Assembly Removal

 Remove glass shelves

 For lighted shelving, unplug the light cord.

 Lift light shelf straight up to separate from

brackets.

 Remove rear shelf support

 Remove brackets. Note it may be necessary

to remove the nylon shipping bracket

retainer. Pliers will be required to

accomplish this task.

4. Light Fixture

Removal of lamp:

 Rotate lamp (1/4-turn) either direction to

disengage (upper or lower) pins/contacts

from lamp mounting sockets.

 Remove bulb by applying even pressure

from the back side at bulb ends and pulling

the remaining contact from the sockets.

Installation of lamp:

 Align pins with slot.

 Insert pins into socket by rotating the bulb

1/4 turn to secure either the (upper or lower)

pined contacts into the sockets.

 Rotate the remaining bulb contacts (1/4

turn) into the remaining lamp mounting

socket contacts.
