WERECOMMEND the useofaVOLT/OHMMETERtotestand verifywiring circuits.Testlightsorilluminated

probescan causedamage toon-boardcomputerorengine managementsystems.

DONOTexceedmaximumoutputratingsordamage mayoccur.Electricalcurrentlimitsforthisalarmare

listed whereapplicableon the systemdiagram(Page 13).If you areunsureaboutthe currentload,ofa

specificcircuiton yourvehicle,measurethe load firstwithan amp-meterbeforeconnecting.

WERECOMMEND thattheMAINSYSTEMFUSE beREMOVEDbeforejumpstarting,using abattery

charger,orchanging the battery.Avoltage surge orhigh boostcondition coulddamage alarmcircuits.

DONOTROUTEANYWIRINGTHATMAYBECOMEENTANGLEDwithbrake,and gaspedals,steering

column,oranyothermoving partsinthe vehicle.

CONTROLMODULE&COMPONENTMOUNTING

DONOTMountthecontrolunitintheenginecompartmentorwherethecontrolunitorwiring harness

wherethey canbecomeentangledwithmoving partssuchas brake/gas/clutchpedals,orthesteering

column!The alarmcontrolmoduleshouldbe mounted inaconcealed location.The Placementofthe

modulewill affectthe distancefromwhichthe remotetransmittercan controlthe unit. The antenna wire

shouldbe routed awayfromanymetalifpossible.Donotalterthe lengthofthe antenna wireorrouteitwith

otherwires.Donotground the antenna wire.Fasten the moduletoabracketorwireharness using the cable

tiesprovided.UnderdashMounting:If you arelocating the controlunitunderdash,mountitashigh as

possible,noteasilylocated byan intruder.Driver’sSide Underdashmounting providesan easy location for

wiring mostofthe system’sconnections,howeverthisisacommon location foran intrudertocheck foran

alarmafterbreaking intothe vehicle.

WIRELESS SIREN/HOOD:Mountthe siren underthe hood toan innerfender-well,wheel-well,orotherbody

surfacewiththe open end facing downward.Run the red siren wiretoconstant+12V.Ground the black to

the bodymetalnearthe siren oryou can useone ofthe siren’smounting screwsforaground.The whitewire

connectsto“-“ hookpinswitch.

LED:Mountthe red LEDinavisiblelocation on the dashboardorconsole.

WIRELESS TRUNK:Mountinside the trunkclosetothe trunklightconnector,sothatitiseasy tofind the wire

forinstallation.NOTE:Donotmountthe wireless trunkpieceon anymetalsurface.It can be tied toany

harness toholdit. (SEE PAGE13 FORINSTALLATION)

Shock Sensor:Mountthe included shock sensorwithwiretiestoan underdashwireharness orfasten with

screwstofirewall orside paneling.Usethe adjustmentscrewtosetthe sensitivityofthe sensor.One screw

adjustsboth

Valet/Programming Button:Mountthe Valet/Override/Programpush-button inahidden butaccessible

location.It isREQUIREDforemergency disarm,programming featuresand entering valetmode.

86 toan ignition sourcethathasvoltage inthe ONand CRANKINGposition.(See wiring diagramforrelay

GREENWIRE:(-) DOORTRIGGER

Identifythe wirethatreadsground when anydoorisopen and 12 voltswhen all doorsareclosed.Some

vehiclesmayhaveisolated doortriggers.Inthiscaseyou mayneed torun additionalwiresfromotherdoors

orgo directlytothe wirethattriggersthe vehicle’sinteriordomelight. One vehiclewill notrequirethe useof

BOTHdoortriggerwires.

YELLOWWIRE:IGNITIONSWITCHED“ON”AND “START”+12 VOLTS

Connecttoan IGNITIONwire(orfuseinthe fusebox)thatshows+12 Voltswhen the keyinboth“On”and

“Start”(WHENCRANKING)positions.

BLACK WIRE:SYSTEMCHASSISGROUND

The black wireMUSTbe connected tothe CHASSISMETALofthe vehicle.Scrape awayanypaintordebris

fromthe connection pointand useastarwashertoensureagood connection.Keep the ground wireshort.

WHITEWIRE:+12VFLASHINGPARKINGLIGHTOUTPUTRIGHT&LEFT (10A)

Connecttothe switched parking lightwireatthe back ofthe lightswitch.If thisisnotpossible,connect

directlytoon ofthe parking lightsatthe frontofthe vehicle.European vehiclesrequireseparaterightand left

circuits.Useofadualrelayor2diodestoseparatethe outputsignal.

Reversepolaritysystemsuseno relays,butinstead the doorlock/unlock motorsarecontrolled directlyfrom

the lock and unlock switchesinthe door.The lock and unlock wiresrestatNegativeGround when notinuse.

When the lock orunlock button ispressed,one ofthe circuitsis“lifted”and replaced with+12Vcausing alock

orunlock.

SINGLEWIRE(DUALVOLTAGE): LatemodelChrysler/Dodge/Plymouthvehicles,some2000-up GM

Dualvoltage systemshavelock/unlock switchesthatsend varying amountsofpositivevoltage ornegative

ground currenttothe samewireforbothlock and unlock.When the vehicle’sBodyComputerModule(BCM)

ordoorlock modulesensesdifferentvoltageson thiswire,the systemwill eitherlock orunlock.Singlewire

doorlock systemsuseresistors.

DATABUSSYSTEMS(2003 GMTRUCKS&SUVs,’99-04 JeepGrand Cherokee

Databussystemssend lowcurrent“datamessages”tothe doorlock controllersinordertolock and unlock the

vehicle.Toinstall aftermarketsystemsinthesevehicles,an interfacemoduleisrequired thatconvertsthe

regularlock/unlock pulsesinto“datamessages”toallowlocking &unlocking.Interfacemodulesaresold

separately.

ACTIVE ARMING

Toarmthe alarmand lock the doors,press the #1 Button (Lock/Unlock Symbol)on the transmitter.You will

hearasinglesiren chirpand the lightswill flashonce.The systemwill arm,the doorswill lock and the starter

will be disabled iftheseoptionalfeaturesareinstalled.Afterashort10 second delaytoallowvehicleand

electronics tosettle,the systemwill be completelyarmed.The red LEDinthe vehiclewill slowflash.

ALARMTRIGGERING

If thereisan intrusion intothe vehicleorhardimpacttothe bodywill sound the alarmfor30 secondsand flash

the lightsfor60 seconds.After60 secondsthe siren and lightswill stop,butthe alarmisstill armed to

continue toprotectthe vehicle.If an intruderleft the dooropen,the unitwill cycleasecond timebefore

stopping and then continue toprotectthe otherun-tampered zonesofthe vehicle.

DISARMING

Todisarmthe alarmand unlock the doors,press the #1 Button (Lock/Unlock Symbol)on the transmitter.You

will hear2siren chirpsand the lightswill flashtwice.LEDstopsflashing orfastflashing.Doorswill unlock and

domelightwill turnon iftheseoptionalfeaturesareinstalled.

ALARMTRIGGERRESET

If the armed alarmsystemistriggered whileyou arewithinthe range ofthe remote,pressing the #1 Button will

onlyshutoff the siren and lightswhileleaving the alarmstill inan armed status.Todisarmthe alarmwhen it

isinatriggered status,you mustpress the #1 Button twice.You will hear4siren chirpsand the parking lights

will flash4times.

REMOTEPANICPROTECTION

Tosound the alarmupon command (panic),press and holdButton #1 foratleast4secondsuntil the siren

sounds.Press Button #1 againtoresetpanicmode.

TRUNK/HATCH POP(REMOTEAUX.OUTPUT1,OPTIONAL)(300mA)

Topop the trunk(ifoptionalfeatureisinstalled),press Button #2 twicewithin2secondson the transmitter.If

the systemisarmed,unitwill tripthe alarmsystemwhen opening the trunk.If the systemisdisarmed,press

Button #2 twicewithin2seconds,the parking lightswill flash5timesand the trunkwill open.

PRE-WARNINGSHOCK PROTECTION&SENSORADJUSTMENT

If alow-levelshock tothe vehicleisdetected,pre-warning protection will activatesounding 5siren chirpsand

5lightflashes.If ahardimpactisdetected the shock sensorshouldtripthe alarmsystem.Onceitis

mounted,adjustthe sensorasneeded byturning the adjustmentscrewclockwisetoincreaseorcounter-

clockwisetodecreasethe sensitivity.

SILENTARM/DISARMTHROUGHREMOTE(BUTTON#2)

Thissystemcan be armed and disarmed withoutsiren chirpson an “asneeded”basis.Press and release

Button #2 then Button #1 toArmand Disarmsystemwithoutchirps.

EMERGENCYOVERRIDE&DISARM

If you havelostthe transmitteroritstopsworking foranyreason and the Alarmisarmed,you will haveto

performand emergency override &disarmtoshutthe alarmoff. Open the doorwiththe key,(alarmwill

sound).Turnthe ignition on and press the override/programbutton 4-5seconds(until siren stops).The Alarm

will disarm.

VALETMODE

Todisablethe Alarmsystemforvehicleserviceorotherwise,turnthe ignition on and press the

override/programbutton 4-5secondsuntil the dashLEDturnson solidand you see 1parking lightflash.

Repeatthe process toexitVALETmode,you will see 2parking lightflashes,and the LEDwill turnoff.

Lock/Unlock and AUXfeatureswill still operateinwhen inVALETmode.

PRIORINTRUSIONALERT

If the systemwastripped inyourabsence,the dashLEDwill be slowlyflash.When the systemisdisarmed

you will hear4chirps,and see 4parking lightflashes.Carefullyinspectyourvehicle.

OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS

OPENZONEALERT&BYPASS

If the systemdetectsafaultyoropen zone (Doorleft open)when the systemisACTIVELYARMED,the siren

will chirp3timesalong with3lightflashes.The faultyzone will be automaticallybypassed.

CAR LOCATING

When the systemisarmed,press and holdButton #2 for3seconds,5siren chirps,and 5parking lightflashes.

IGNITION-CONTROLLEDDOORLOCKS(See page 13 forjumpersetting)

If thisfeatureisenabled,the doorswill automaticallylock when the ignition isturned on and will unlock when

the ignition isturned off. The jumpersetting default=ON.

PASSIVE ARMING/PASSIVE LOCK MODES (See page 13 forjumpersetting)

Passive(Automatic)Arming will occur30 Secondsafterthe ignition isturned off and the lastdoorhasbeen

closed.The LEDwill beginflashing rapidlywhilecounting down.If adoorisreopened,the systemwill wait

(LEDsolid)forthe doororzone toclosebeforearming.The unitwill chirponceand flashthe lightsonce.

Doorswill lock ifthe “PassiveLocking”jumpersetting =ON.PassiveArm/Lock mayqualifyforinsurance

discounts-check withyouragentorproprietor.The defaultsetting =ON.

DOMELIGHTILLUMINATION(OPTIONAL)

Thisfeatureturnson the vehiclesdomelightupon disarmfor30 secondsoruntil the keyisinserted and

turned on.Thiswill provide illuminated entrytoyourvehicleatnightorindimlylitareasforsafetyand security.

DOORLOCK/UNLOCK PULSE TIME(See page 13 forjumpersetting)

Thisfeaturecontrolsthe amountoftime0.5seconds(jumperoff)or4seconds(jumperon)forthe lock/unlock

pulse.Thissetting maybe required for1980/1990 European vehiclesthatrequirealong pulseforvacuum

doorlock systems.

ACTIVE RE-ARMING(FAIL-SAFEPROTECTION)

The ActiveRe-arming featureallowsthe systemwill re-armitself30 secondsafterbeing disarmed withthe

transmitterifadoorhasnotyetbeen opened.Thisishandyifthe vehicleisaccidentallydisarmed (viathe

transmitterinyourpocket)withoutyou knowing it. Thisfeaturecan alsobe turned ON.Activere-armdefault

isOFF,see page 11 formoredetails.
