OVERVIEW

 These Structural Concepts merchandisers are

designed to merchandise packaged products at

ambient temperatures.

 Cases should be installed and operated according to

this operating manual’s instructions to ensure proper

performance. Improper use will void warranty.

TYPE

This unit is designed for the display of products in ambient

store conditions where temperatures and humidity are

maintained within a specific range.

 Type 1 Conditions (this case): ambient conditions are

to be at 55% maximum humidity and maximum

temperatures of 75 °F [24 °C].

COMPLIANCE

 Performance issues when in violation of applicable

NEC, federal, state and local electrical codes are not

covered by warranty. See below guideline.

WARNINGS and PRECAUTIONS

 This page contains an important warning to prevent

injury or death. It also contains precautions to prevent

damage to unit or merchandise. Please read carefully!

WIRING DIAGRAM

 Each case has its own wiring diagram folded and in its

own packet. Wiring diagram placement may vary.

COMPLIANCE

This equipment MUST be installed in compliance with

all applicable NEC, federal, state and local electrical codes.

CAUTION! LAMP REPLACEMENT GUIDELINES

LED lamps reflect specific size, shape and overall design.

Any replacements must meet factory specifications.

Fluorescent lamps have been treated to resist breakage and

must be replaced with similarly treated lamps.

CAUTION! POWER CORD AND PLUG MAINTENANCE

Risk of electric shock. If cord or plug becomes damaged,

replace only with cord and plug of same type.

Disconnect ALL ELECTRICAL SOURCES before servicing.

CAUTION! GFCI BREAKER USE REQUIREMENT

If N.E.C. (National Electric Code) or your local code

requires GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection,

you MUST use a GFCI breaker in lieu of a GFCI receptacle.

WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals, including

Urethane (Ethyl Carbamate), which are known to the state of

California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive

INSTALLATION: REMOVAL OF UNIT / POSITIONING CASE / FRAME SUPPORT RAILS

1. Remove Unit From Skid

Slide unit to rear of skid and tip backward off skid.

Case can be repositioned with pallet truck when front

lower panel is removed. Blocking may be necessary

to obtain adequate height.

2. Position & Align Case Alongside Other Cases

 Before shimming, check that the case is in proper

position and, if required, aligned with adjoining

cases.

 This may require repositioning of the case you are

installing or the already positioned cases.

 Align multiple units carefully in areas A, B & C.

3. Frame Support Rails Must Be Shimmed

 Illustration at right shows case with frame

support rails.

 Shims are provided with all cases that have

frame support rails.

 Use shims to level case.

 Note: After case is in position, it must be

sealed to floor to prevent entry or leakage

of liquid or moisture.

4. Bolting Units Together (Not All Cases)

Bolt units together at lower base as indicated.

 Remove front and rear panels (no screw removal

required) to drill clearance hole through end panel

and into unit it is being attached to.

 End panel is shown transparent for illustrative

purposes.

 Use SCC-supplied screws for adjoinment.

START-UP AND OPERATION: LED STYLE LIGHT FIXTURES / WARNINGS & CAUTIONARY NOTES

1. LED Style Light Fixtures

Removal of Faulty LED Lights:

 LED lights rarely require change-out.

 Contact Structural Concepts’ Technical Service

Department for replacement LED lights.

 Turn off LED light switch.

 To remove faulty LED light, follow these steps:

A. Disconnect plug from LED light.

B. Using both hands, grasp LED light assembly

(with its magnetic mounting clips). Pull

downward and off its shelf (or header).

C. Remove magnetic mounting clips from LED

light by pressing against flange part of clip

with thumb.

>> Note: Mounting clips MAY be riveted to shelf or

header. In such instances, simply remove LED light

from mounting clips by pressing against flange part

of clips with thumb.

Replacement of LED lights:

 Attach magnetic mounting clips onto LED light.

 Adjust magnetic mounting clips so they are equally

spaced on LED light.

 Reattach LED light assembly to its shelf/header.

 Position properly in shelf/header.

>> Note: If mounting clips are riveted to shelf (or

header), attach by placing LED in base of clip and

then snapping into clip at FLANGE SIDE.

 Press plug’s barrel-shaped insert all the way into

LED light’s orifice.

 Important: If plug is not inserted ALL THE WAY IN

the LED light’s orifice, light may not energize. See

“BAD” vs. “GOOD” insertion illustrations below.

 Turn LED light switch back on.

2. Warnings & Cautionary Notes

Warning! Disconnect power before providing

maintenance and service to unit.

Caution: Lamps have been treated to resist

breakage. Replace only with such treated lamps.

Note: Warranty will be void if claims arise from

negligence, misuse of goods, extreme

environmental conditions or improper

maintenance.

1. Shelf Assembly Removal

 Remove and set aside glass

or wire shelves.

 For lighted shelving, unplug

light cord and detach from

rear shelf support.

 Slide light assembly back to

unlock, then rotate up to

separate from brackets.

 Slide rear support back to unlock and rotate up to

separate from brackets.

 Remove brackets. Note, it may be necessary to

remove the nylon shipping bracket retainer.

 Pliers will be required to accomplish this task.

2. Door Actuator Removal (For Repair, etc.)

 Remove false deck (no tools required).

 Remove screw from actuator arm.

 Remove 4 screws from actuator cover plate.

 Remove 2 mounting screws that secure actuator to

mounting flange.

 Withdraw actuator.

3. Tissue Box

 See illustration below.

4. Trash

 Hinged, spring-actuated flip door provided.

 Drawer may be pulled out to empty trash container.

CLEANING SCHEDULE

Cleaning Daily Weekly Monthly Task

Clean Case

Exterior XClean glass doors, sides and top with household or

commercial glass cleaner.

HiMacs® Natural Acrylic Stone (Solid Surface): See

HI-MACS® NATURAL ACRYLIC STONE™ CARE

& MAINTENANCE section in this operating

manual.

Open laminated storage area (Model GHPF456LB

only): clean with soft cloth dipped in warm soapy

water. Wipe down with paper towel or cloth dipped

in clean water to rinse away soap residue.

Rear doors and door track: Remove rear doors and

clean with a household or commercial cleaner.

Clean out door track with moist cloth.

Toe-kicks: To remove dirt, dust and scuffs, clean with

soft cloth or soft-bristled brush dipped in warm, soapy

water. Wipe down with rag dipped in clean water to

rinse away soap residue.

Clean Case

Interior XClean glass doors, sides and top with household or

commercial glass cleaner.

Wicker baskets can be removed and residue brushed

out. For fine, powdery residue, use vacuum with

brush attachment.

SOLID SURFACE CARE & MAINTENANCE section

in this operating manual.

Decking and drawers may be cleaned with soap and

water solution and soft cloth. For hardened residue,

use soapy water and scrub with non-metallic,

soft-bristled brush.

Remove wire racks and wire baskets (and clear

plastic liners, if any) and wipe down with soft cloth

dipped in warm soapy water. For hardened residue

(or for more thorough cleaning), submerse in warm,

soapy water and scrub with non-metallic,

soft-bristled brush.
