1. Before beginning any exercise program,

consult your physician. This is especially

important for persons over age 35 or per-

sons with pre-existing health problems.

2. Read all instructions in this manual and all

warnings on the weight bench before using

the weight bench. Use the weight bench only

as described in this manual.

3. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure

that all users of the weight bench are ade-

quately informed of all precautions.

4. The weight bench is intended for home use

only. Do not use the weight bench in any

commercial, rental, or institutional setting.

5. Keep the weight bench indoors, away from

moisture and dust. Do not put the weight

bench in a garage or covered patio, or near

water.

6. Place the weight bench on a level surface,

with a mat beneath it to protect the floor or

carpet. Make sure that there is enough clear-

ance around the weight bench to mount,

dismount, and use the weight bench.

7. Inspect and properly tighten all parts regu-

larly. Replace any worn parts immediately.

8. Keep hands and feet away from moving

parts.

9. Always set both weight rests at the same

height.

10. Keep children under age 12 and pets away

from the weight bench at all times.

11. Always wear athletic shoes for foot protec-

tion while exercising.

12. The weight bench is designed to support a

maximum user weight of 300 lbs. (136 kg)

and a maximum total weight of 610 lbs.

(277 kg). Do not place more than 310 lbs.

(141 kg), including a barbell, on the weight

rests. Do not place more than 150 lbs. (68

kg) on the leg lever. Note: The weight bench

does not include a barbell or weights.

13. Always place the same amount of weight on

both sides of the barbell.

14. Always exercise with a partner. Your partner

should be ready to catch the barbell if you

cannot complete a repetition.

15. Over exercising may result in serious injury

or death. If you feel faint or if you experience

pain while exercising, stop immediately and

cool down.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious injury, read all important precautions and

instructions in this manual and all warnings on your weight bench before using your weight bench.

XR 10.1 weight bench. The XR 10.1 weight bench

offers a selection of weight stations designed to

develop every major muscle group of the body.

Whether your goal is to tone your body, build muscle

size and strength, or improve your cardiovascular sys-

tem, the weight bench will help you achieve the results

you want.

For your benefit, read this manual carefully before

using the weight bench. If you have questions after

reading this manual, please see the front cover of this

manual. To help us assist you, note the product model

number and serial number before contacting us. The

model number and the location of the serial number

decal are shown on the front cover of this manual.

Before reading further, please familiarize yourself with

the parts that are labeled in the drawing below.

PART IDENTIFICATION CHART

Use the drawings below to identify small parts used in assembly. The number in parentheses by each drawing is

the key number of the part, from the PART LIST near the end of this manual. IMPORTANT: If you cannot find a

part in the hardware kit, check to see if it has been preassembled. Extra hardware may be included.

1. Identify the Left Upright Base (13), which is

marked with a “Left” sticker.

Orient a Stabilizer (5) so that the square holes

are facing the floor.

Attach the Left Upright Base (13) to the Stabilizer

(5) with two M10 x 47mm Carriage Bolts (44)

and two M10 Locknuts (40). Do not tighten the

Locknuts yet.

Insert two M10 x 47mm Carriage Bolts (44)

upward into the remaining holes in the Stabilizer

(5).

Repeat this step with the Right Upright Base

(20) and the other Stabilizer (5).

ASSEMBLY

• To hire an authorized service technician to

assemble the weight bench in your home, call

1-800-445-2480.

• Assembly requires two persons.

• Because of its size and weight, assemble the

weight bench in the location where it will be used.

Make sure that there is enough clearance to walk

around the weight bench as you assemble it.

• Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the

packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing

materials until you complete all assembly steps.

• To identify small parts, see page 5.

• The following tools (not included) may be required

for assembly:

two adjustable wrenches

one rubber mallet

one standard screwdriver

one Phillips screwdriver

Assembly will be more convenient if you have

a socket set, a set of open-end or closed-end

wrenches, or a set of ratchet wrenches. To avoid

damaging parts, do not use power tools.

3. Orient the Uprights (8) as shown.

Slide the Uprights (8) onto the Left and Right

Upright Bases (13, 20).

2. Orient the Crossbar (2) so that the warning

decals are facing upward.

Attach the Crossbar (2) to the Left Upright Base

(13) with two M10 x 95mm Bolts (45), two M10

Washers (41), and two M10 Locknuts (40). Do

not tighten the Locknuts yet.

Attach the Crossbar (2) to the Right Upright

Base (20) in the same way.

5. Press a 44mm x 1.2mm Square Inner Cap (27)

into the Front Leg (3).

Attach the Front Stabilizer (4) to the Front Leg

(3) with two M10 x 63mm Bolts (6) and two M10

Locknuts (40). Do not tighten the Locknuts

yet.

4. Set the Left Brace (10) on the indicated M10 x

47mm Carriage Bolts (44) in the left Stabilizer

(5). Finger tighten two M10 Locknuts (40)

onto the Carriage Bolts. Do not tighten the

Locknuts yet.

Attach the Left Brace (10) to the left Upright (8)

with two M10 x 55mm Bolts (15), an Upright

Plate (51), and two M10 Locknuts (40). Do not

tighten the Locknuts yet.

Attach the Right Brace (11) to the right

Stabilizer (5) and the right Upright (8) in the

same way.

7. Orient the Seat Carriage (7) as shown. Slide the

Seat Carriage onto the Seat Frame (1).

Attach the Front Leg (3) to the Seat Frame

(1) with four M8 x 55mm Bolts (46), two M8

Washers (43), and four M8 Locknuts (37). Do

not tighten the Locknuts yet.

See the inset drawing. Attach the Adjustment

Pin (25) to the Seat Carriage (7) with an M4

x 16mm Self-tapping Screw (26). Then, insert

the Adjustment Pin through the Seat Carriage

into an adjustment hole in the Seat Frame (1).

Make sure that the Adjusment Pin is firmly

engaged in an adjustment hole.

6. Orient the Seat Frame (1) so that the hexagonal

holes are facing the floor.

Attach the Seat Frame (1) to the Crossbar (2)

with two M10 x 60mm Bolts (9) and two M10

Locknuts (40). Do not tighten the Locknuts

yet.

9. Attach the two Backrest Frames (16) to the

Backrest (18) with four M6 x 40mm Screws (48)

and four M6 Washers (42). Do not tighten the

Screws yet.

8. Set the Backrest Support (14) in the brackets on

the Uprights (8). Make sure that the pins on

the Backrest Support are inserted into the

holes in the brackets.

See steps 1–6. Tighten the M10 Locknuts (40).

See step 7. Tighten the M8 Locknuts (37).
